I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk

If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!scenario

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

I found cyclizine didn't help much and made me feel dizzy if I can remember correctly. I think I'll try the Stemetil for another week and then if I'm really suffering I'll go back to the GP.

Ah yes, the "gingering". That's what I encountered the first time....Not going to help much when you are being sick over 20 times a day is it! at least it's only a couple of times a day at the moment.

herewego good to hear you've had a few better days. I'm sure I improved for a little while just after midway, but never stopped my meds.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I probably will try to book in an early scan along with my NIPT test, although I've had pregnancies where I've had a good 8 week scan followed by MMC at 12 weeks so I know they aren't always a guarantee. But they help keep the anxiety at bay for a bit anyway!

LightTripper · 24/11/2016 16:12

That's a good idea SecondSunrise

In fact, if you could get a reassurance scan from your GP at 8/9 weeks, then a scan for NIPT at 10/11 weeks, and then the NHS scan again at 12/13 at least you'd never be sick for more than a couple of weeks without knowing there was an ongoing pregnancy? Hope you have better luck this time, MMCs are grim. I was lucky in a way that my sister had one first (and was also very sick throughout), so at least I had some warning that they were a thing that can happen.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/11/2016 17:55

Hello gang. Had my 12 week scan today and all is well. I was heaving outside the maternity unit, though, just for luck, I think.

MotherofPearl · 24/11/2016 18:25

Castle, good luck for your meal out!
Peace, congratulations on good scan. It really does help to make the sickness feel more worthwhile.
Light, hope you're feeling better after your business trip induced tiredness? It's awful how tiredness can set you back.
Herewego, I think mostly HG goes (if you're lucky enough to have it go!) in fits and starts. A few good days in a row usually signals that the worst is behind you, but hormone surges can bring on relapses, as poor old Blondes has been experiencing of late.
Hope everyone else is managing. I keep wondering whether Fresh has had her baby yet.

happydays00 · 24/11/2016 18:33

mop were you thinking of me or lucy re reaching the pink castle? Don't think anyone is due after us until Feb..

No baby for me yet - had a sweep yesterday and things seem to be progressing but nothing imminent I don't think

MotherofPearl · 24/11/2016 18:38

Ooooh, exciting! I knew you were close but hadn't realised just how close. I was also thinking of Fresh though. She's not on the due dates list but is/was due about now. She's not been on here much recently but was on here a lot last year when she lost a baby, so I'm especially keen to know all is well. But she may be otherwise occupied of course!

happydays00 · 24/11/2016 18:58

Oh my goodness , yes I do remember fresh now. Here's hoping she has her baby and all is well Smile

fourcorneredcircle · 24/11/2016 19:11

Yay for peace's scan! :)

The nausea and vomiting is back here. Gutted after two nice days :(

LucindaE · 24/11/2016 20:25

Blondes Sorry about exorcist sickness and I hope the three day old baby was peaceful.
SecondSunrise Sorry to hear you had a 12 week mmc, and LightTripper too. I had one at 11 weeks; it is really distressing, and that was only one.
herewegoagain Good days are so often the sign of things taking a turn about for the better.
ICanTuck Sorry to hear of 'Groundhog day'. As others say, don't suffer needlessly if the meds aren't working as there are a good many combinations they can try.
LightTripper It must have been cold in Amsterdam! I'm glad you are recovering from overdoing it.
Castlefeck I hope you enjoyed your meal out.
peacelove Congratulations on happy 12 week scan news.
fourcorneredcircle Sorry to hear that nausea and vomiting are back; at least its encouraging that things may be improving.
Great advice from MotherofPearland everyone.
Sorry if I've overlooked anyone...

LHReturns · 24/11/2016 20:59

Just dropping in guys....I miss you all. I am 13 weeks today.

I am getting much better - on much less Ondansetron now. Still throwing up a few times a day but I am better in between.

As I am getting better I am working and rushing around full time again and frankly I am just so so exhausted all the time. I couldn't agree with others more that my nausea is tightly linked to how tired I am.

I want some energy and zest back. This is such a hard slog.

On the plus side I saw my consultant today and booked c-section in for 22 May. There is a fixed end point to this. (Had a ELCS for first as he was in an especially awkward back to back position, so just going to do an ELCS for this one.)

Tired tired tired. Sorry I have been so quiet.

LHReturns · 24/11/2016 21:00

peace was so happy to read your 12 week scan news. It is a lovely moment to reach - enjoy it.

Hugs to all of you suffering so much. HG really is such a shitty card to draw.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2016 21:30

Yes blondes it bloody hurt - was a very unpleasant and uncomfortable surprise! So hope it works!!

Sorry to hear you've had a bit of a relapse - hope you feel a little better again soon

peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/11/2016 21:37

Proved you were pregnant blondes Shock because getting scanned at the EPU is a great day out for all the family Hmm

peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/11/2016 21:38

And happy who doesn't love a hand up their fanny?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2016 21:42

happy Flowers friends tell me its awful :(

peace, i know !!!! i had my mw notes and mw checked my pee and was preg, plus she is my friend and saw scan pics of 7w on fb, but coz the hospital hadnt tested my wee they wouldnt scan me

think was 1.5hrs later when still wouldnt /couldnt pee, and i explained i had hg and thrown up again so no way i could pee, and df about to kick off ....... that she finally scanned me

and oh yes you are preg Hmm where as df and i just happy to see heart again and then poked my bladder with dildo cam and almost wet myself

peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/11/2016 21:45

I did that at my booking in, threw up everything I'd drunk and couldn't wee on command. You'd think midwives would be used to this shit by now.

happydays00 · 24/11/2016 22:21

peace and blondes you have made my night "dildo cams" and "hands up your fanny" hahaha Grin

peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/11/2016 22:29

I had dildo cam today, but wasn't as aggressive as previous encounters.

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 24/11/2016 22:32

I have my scan tomorrow first thing and I don't think I'll be able to drink all the water.
Mornings are not good. Actually any time of day is not good at the moment so I don't know what I'm going to do Sad
I can either drink it and vomit it all up in the waiting room, and piss myself at the same time.
Or not drink it and risk them not being able to scan properly.
If anyone upsets me tomorrow I'll likely have a breakdown. I'm so sick of all this and I've got such a long way to go. Sad
Feeling very sorry for myself tonight.

peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/11/2016 22:47

Boobs if it's 12 week scan you don't need a full bladder. Thats what dildo cam is for! Grin see if you can grab a load of spare sample pots so you can do one at home when you're ready, rather than on demand at hospital.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2016 22:48

Boobs. Drink and throw up or they will tell you to go and have a drink

Had so many dildo cams over the past 7yrs or so with investigations and then scans for lining. Then ivf etc. You have to laugh or cry x

LightTripper · 24/11/2016 23:02

I never remember to drink before scans and it always seems to be fine. I would be tempted to try without (or maybe something wet like tinned fruit if you can manage it?) and hope for the best...

peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/11/2016 23:25

Ice lolly in the waiting room? Too weird?
