Moonlight - I was in the gynae ward at Southmead hospital. I saw an obstetric consultant today who was really nice and willing to scan the baby to reassure me that it had survived the trauma.

My friend who I'm staying with had her daughter at Southmead and also had a good experience.

I have a test like this about a week after my period was due and then a week later the line got darker but TBH clear blue digital are only ones I will trust x

emily86 · 14/11/2016 20:01

Ineed glad you're feeling better.

Just had to do another test to reassure myself that I hadn't imagined my BFP. Still positive, phew! Really hoping for some symptoms soon.

theAntsareMyFriends · 15/11/2016 09:01

mummy with all my tests I've had faint lines at 3 days. They don't get darker for me until about a week late. Good luck.

Ineed so glad to hear you are feeling better. Must have been very scary.

emily glad you're feeling reassured.

Bit of a nightmare weekend for me but it looks like I wasn't the only one. I also had a kitchen flood caused by the washing machine and then got the vomiting bug. I couldn't even keep water down for 24 hours and was off work yesterday which is v unlike me. Bit better today and back at work. Trying to rehydrate. I'd just started to be able to eat real food again after losing my appetite and food aversions so a bit annoyed by being set back again. I keep reminding myself that babies are like parasites and they take what they need even if you need it too!

jbee664 · 15/11/2016 10:40

Oh ants that's rubbish! Hope you get better soon.

My nausea has turned into actually being sick now rather than just feeling it! Twice yesterday. I worry the babies aren't getting anything when there's probably nothing left inside me.

Miami81 · 15/11/2016 11:13

Jbee sorry you are feeling rubbish. I think someone else on here said this earlier, but the babies will take what they need, try and keep hydrated and hopefully it will calm down a bit for you.
I am sat at the doc's at the moment. Getting flu jab. Was really stressing about it as wasn't sure of the risks, but decided that if I did get ill and something happened I would feel really bad, so hopefully it is ok.......

Sah1987 · 15/11/2016 11:52

We're all ok 12+5, very happy. Baby was not impressed about being prodded and took 35mins to get the reading she needed.

To the point my bladder almost exploded!

Great scan Sah1987 congratulations!

I'm having a panic. Just been to the loo and had some bloodstained CM. Tried ringing my EPU but there's no answer but I'm only 5+3 so they wouldn't be able to see anything on a scan anyway.

emily86 · 15/11/2016 15:42

Scan booked for next Monday by which point I should be 6 weeks but I'm not holding out much hope Sad

Whatsername17 · 15/11/2016 16:34

Lovely news Sah! Stay strong, Emily.Flowers

MoonlightMojitos · 15/11/2016 17:11

That's where I've chosen newshoes so thanks for the good review! Puts a bit more confidence in them!

ants I had the same thing fri/sat so really feel for you. Glad you're feeling a bit better today.

Congrats sah!! Worth it in the end!

Fx for you emily take it easy and try not to worry (easier said than done I know :( ) it's really common early on for a bit of spotting and I hope you're OK

Gizmojo · 15/11/2016 21:15

Hi ladies

I hope you don't mind me joining and apologies in advance for the long post but I could really do with some of your posifrickentivity!

I'm currently 5+3, having had a mc at 9+4 at the end of July. I had a private scan at 8 weeks and was told the embryo only measured 5+6 and I should 'go home and wait for it to happen'. It was such a shock because I'd had no sign at all that anything was wrong.

This time around, I got a positive five days before my period was due (with no idea why I tested so early, as it's just given me more time to worry). I've been booked in for a scan at the EPAU on Monday, when I'll be 6+2. I'm terrified. I felt really sick at the weekend, which I thought might be a good sign but for the past couple of days I haven't. I can't talk to anyone irl as I don't want to worry DH and we've only told my sisters, who I also don't want to worry. I can't help feeling more and more negative the closer I get to the scan. I'm driving myself a bit nuts wavering between trying to be positive, trying not to be too positive, being really scared and on top of that trying to keep it all to myself.

Gizmojo · 15/11/2016 21:16

I should possibly also add that I'm 42...

LynseyH · 15/11/2016 21:48

Great news sah
emily stay strong, as previously said, spotting can be common and it doesn't necessarily mean the worst. It is the last thing you want to see whilst pregnant though, I hope all is well.
Aw ants you have my full sympathy!! Floods and sickness, not great at all! I hope your feeling better now. That blooming norovirus is spreading like wildfire at the moment, it's everywhere! I hope it's true that your immune for 6 months after having it so we don't get it again anytime soon.

I had the whooping cough and flu jabs today, they stung this time, more than I remember they did. Glad it's out the way. Should have had bloods done last week but after a total mix up with the midwife, I missed seeing her. Which means I still didn't get to discuss my home birth. She's off on leave now but we've rescheduled for when she's back.

I've noticed now when I've had a busy day, by 2ish I'm really struggling with walking. The very top of my left leg hurts so much, my back hurts, sometimes my groin area feels like I've been kicked there and my lower stomach aches too. I googled and the results suggested SPD. I really hope not as I think that means it'll just get worse?
I do feel better after resting so tomorrow I'm going to drop the kids at school and nursery, run my errands (which should take no more than an hour) and then go home to bed til the school run again. Partners actually supported this very lazy idea as he hates doing the school run and knows I'm struggling! If anyone has had SPD before, does it sound familiar from what I've said? And if so, did you find the cold aggravates it? I'm sure it does with me.
Sorry for the long post!!

Morning ladies, welcome and good luck to the new girls.
17+ here, still not feeling noticeable movement, been getting my Doppler out every 3 days or so! I finally told my mum and my brother who couldn't believe that I had kept it a secret for so long, I think they where more shocked when I told them he was a boy lol
I've got a bit mad buying things, got all his bottles and steriliser, prep machine, and I've ordered lots of lovely outfits, prams and crib on order too. My mum has obviously felt a little guilty and has bought him a baby roll too bath lol you have to see it to actually believe it, you can even have it plumbed in if you so wish lol
I had the most terrible spd with my 3rd and 4th pregnancy, they kept telling me baby no.3 was small, and it was with him that it started, they took me in 2 weeks early for an induction and he was 10lb 1, that's obviously why the spd was so severe, we didn't plan baby 4 and I fell pregnant within 12 weeks of giving birth so my body just didn't have a chance to heal, they took me in at 37 with her due to the terrible pain but she was only 7lb 3.
There's lots of advice on it now, always keep you knees together whenever you bend sit, stand, etc it just helps take the pressure of those stretching ligaments, maybe your little girl is going to be a little fatty Lyns lol xx

XxBecxX · 16/11/2016 09:17

Oh and to add the midwife said to me that rest is imperative, sitting isn't helpful she said, to just sit you may aswell keep on doing whatever your doing, only laying will help x

LynseyH · 16/11/2016 10:08

Thanks xxbec I've literally shuffled into a little mcdonalds as my errands took me a little longer than planned and now in agony...already! The pain was in the left side yesterday, today it's all on the right.
Just having a hot chocolate, sitting for 5 minutes and then gonna attempt the walk to the bus stop. Think it's about time I sought medical help :-( is it better to ring the docs or midwife do you know? Normal midwife is off for another week yet.

If you look on your notes there may already be in the list of names the physio's number, if not tell your midwife, it's awful but there's not much they can do, with me they gave me a belt, a big Velcro thing that goes under you bump and acts a bit like a shelf, then crutches lol then cocodamol, hopefully there's some more helpful solutions nowadays 😢
Try and remember the keeping your knees together rule and also with me I'm a very fast walker and if your strides are long and your parting your legs too much that's a pain aswell, try to walk a fraction slower and take smaller steps lol
You may well start to get noticed and nicknamed by the locals as a weirdo that walks funny but hey ho lol 😂😂

LynseyH · 16/11/2016 10:38

Already getting called the waddler at school anyway lol. Have you ever seen a waddling snail?! That's what I currently am! Just got home so will look at my notes now. Thank you :-)

Hi everyone, hope it's ok to join in. I had a miscarriage in August and I'm now pregnant again, around 6 weeks 2 days. I started spotting a week and a half ago. Not every single day, and not a lot at all, just pink when I wipe at most. So I went to EPAU last Wednesday and the scan only showed a Gestational sac measuring 5w2days (at that point going by my irregular periods I thought I was 6w1day) No yolk sac or fetal pole. So I've had 3 lots of Bhcg bloods done, 2 days apart. Weds-5945 Fri-7769 Sun-10557. So the hospital have said it's not good because they aren't doubling in 48 hours. But I've read a lot of stuff online saying that when they're above 6000 they take longer to double, upto 4 days. I'm going for another scan tomorrow morning, I'm absolutely petrified! Has anyone had any sort of experience like this? Sorry for the huge post!
Xx

XxBecxX · 16/11/2016 12:46

Welcome cool, as far as I know, doubling is considered a bench mark, and close to that is 'the norm', however the majority of us gals ain't 'the norm'!
I would be cautiously optimistic, you've got large numbers and again as far as I was aware 2000 was the minimal beta at which anything at all is visible, I would have hoped that at the best part of 6000 you would have seen a little more than a sac but from a research point of view, it comes back constantly saying that the quantity is not really considered only the increasing of the quantity, I would think that by at least your next scan you should have a definite answer at least.
A sac is usually all (if anything) that's seen at around the 5 week mark so that seems on track, maybe you where in your 2's when you had the scan and then had your double when you had your first bloods?
I'm crossing my fingers for you xxx

emily86 · 16/11/2016 15:12

Gizmo we can be scan buddies. I've also got a scan at 6+2 on Monday. I've had 2 MMC. Unfortunately I had some blood stained CM yesterday so I'm not feeling positive for Monday. Nothing more since though. DH is away for work so a good friend is coming with me. DH has already given up hope and has decided he's just going to try and think of it as a late period. I can't help but have the odd glimmer, I've always been an optimist. But fully expecting to enter the limbo land of "we can't say, come back for a repeat scan in a week."

I suppose if the is another MC I'll have reached the dreaded but magic number of 3 required for investigations.

Anyway, fingers crossed for us both. Monday seems so so far away right now.

Gizmojo · 16/11/2016 16:40

Hi emily. Yes, we are completly in sync by the sound of it! Very sorry for your losses and keeping my fingers crossed for Monday for us both. It is quite common to spot early in pregnancy and it not to be a bad thing, so I think you're right to hold onto that glimmer.

My nausea has gone completely since the weekend and even the headache I had yesterday has gone now. Both have been replaced by a bit of a dull ache like very, very light period pains. So who knows. Like you, I kind of think that at least I'll have reached the number for investigations if this doesn't work (it's only two for me, because of my age). Like you say, fingers crossed for us both!

cooltobeginger · 16/11/2016 17:22

Thanks so much for your reply XxBecxX.... it's made me feel abit better. I'm keeping everything crossed for tomorrow x
