The wrong way around? Oh dear! My sil had her daughter before they got married and she made the cutest bridesmaid. Me and dh were married but I kept my maiden name so the whole 'you won't have the same name' thing was bollocks too. I'm no less her mum because my name is double barrelled and she has her dad's surname. The older generation don't always get it so well done for staying strong!

doleritedinosaur · 16/10/2016 22:03

Great news on the early scan and its so nice when they're active.

The wrong way around? Well we've definitely done it wrong as not married yet and DS has my surname, this one will too and when we do get married OH is double-barreling his name.

(Can't wait until he tells his nan hahaha.)

Had a bad night last night, cried and argued with DS, also coming up to due date of my MC as well so didn't help.
Got my 20 week scan tomorrow morning and consultant appointment so anxiety is high, waking up at 4am again and I'm jittery. OH keeps telling me to sit down so we had a good day out today to distract me.

Baby is moving lots, just want it to be good news.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Sah1987 · 16/10/2016 22:16

Hello all, new here - was pointed in this direction by coping with miscarriage thread.

I have a dad of 3.5 years, but in second pregnancy I had a bleed in October 2015, at 11 weeks, got a scan booked for 16th October (11 weeks 5days) found out baby had stopped growing at 8.5 weeks.

So today is 1 year since finding out and I am currently 11+4 with pregnancy number 3, and I am freaking out, due dates are the same to the day, I am starting to get bad back and my uterus and belly button are pulling a lot in last 24 hours.

I know this is probably due to worry, or just being almost 12 weeks as boobs hurt more, morning sickness is with me (wasn't with 1 & 2) but I just wish NHS could offer reassurance scans.

The fear does more harm than good I'm sure! I only have 6 days until my scan, but I really am just freaking out.

Any advice??

Sah1987 · 16/10/2016 22:17

I don't have a 3.5 dad, but a dd of 3.5 years btw....

theAntsareMyFriends · 17/10/2016 08:21

Great news McBaby.

Also getting lots of CM too. The worst thing about it is I keep thinking it is blood and have to race off to the loo to check. I think its normal. I don't remember it with DS but then I was so naive that I don't really remember being worried about much.

I used my doppler for the first time yesterday and I'm pretty sure I heard a heart beat. Sounded like a fast train. It sounded like it was in the background and the noise in the foreground was a slower wow wow wow noise. Is there an organ that is in front of the uterus (maybe bladder?) that I could have been picking up?

I never use Facebook and also hate announcing I'm pregnant. It almost feels like I'm boasting about myself which sounds stupid. My plan is not to tell people and wait until people realise themselves which I'm sure they will at some point!

theAntsareMyFriends · 17/10/2016 08:23

should have refreshed before I poster.

Welcome Sah you are in a great place. I couldn't have got through these weeks without this board and congratulations on your pregnancy

Whatsername17 · 17/10/2016 08:28

Welcome sah - experienced the same as you. Dd is 5, mmc on January at 13 weeks but baby had died at 8. Now 26+3 with my third. Pregnancy is tough following a mc but we are all here in the same boat. Good luck with your pregnancy. BTW my boobs didn't really hurt much during the first 12 weeks. Bloody agony now though! Ants the wow wow noise is your placenta. Train noise is definitely heartbeat. Old wives tales suggest that a girls heartbeat sounds like galloping horses and boys sounds like a train!

Naschkatze · 17/10/2016 08:28

Welcome Sah. You've done so well getting to 11 weeks without a scan so it's not much longer to go. A day at a time.

I agree about Facebook in some ways. However, DH has been wanting to post an announcement since very early because he has a lot of family far away and it's one of the only ways he can contact them all. I refused at first but gave in after our 20 week scan and he posted an announcement. I sincerely hope it didn't upset anyone in our wider friendship group and it was good for me in some ways to accept it is happening!

jpeg28 · 17/10/2016 09:57

Welcome Sah! I'm not sure what advice I can give as I myself freaked out so many times around the time of my MC! But I would say share your anxieties on here, it's such a great place to get them out and hear from people who have been through it too!

Don't feel very pregnant today... I'm 14 weeks tomorrow... when should I start to feel the baby move? I know it's too soon but I'm getting anxious!!

Shrimpymummy · 17/10/2016 11:09

Hello, can I join? I've got a 2.5 year old Dd, and had a MMC of twins in April this year. Currently 8 weeks, by my dates. Found out 3 weeks ago and can honestly say it's felt like the longest 3 weeks of my life - the anxiety is just a constant presence and am not enjoying it at all. Don't think my OH realises quite how overwhelming the whole thing is.

Not helping is that have had a very small amount of spotting since Friday - just waiting for the GP to call me back, hopefully with reassurance... Didn't have spotting with either my successful pregnancy or the MMC, so this is something completely new to worry about!

Glad to find this thread, hope everyone else is doing well today.

MoonlightMojitos · 17/10/2016 12:53

Congrats mcbaby!!

Today is d day for me... last time I woke up bleeding though so I've made it a few hours longer at least. Feeling so very sick too that must be a good sign as symptoms stopped over night a few days before last time.

jpeg me and dp aren't married either and I'm already dreading all the comments! Oh better put a ring on it quickly, didn't you want to be married first blah blah.

Good luck with scan today dino!

Welcome sah and shrimpy sorry you're here but congrats! sah I can't offer any advice yet sorry as I'm just coming up to when it went wrong last time too (well, it's actually today) and I've been an anxious mess. You've done well to get this far though, not long to go til your scan and good luck! Like others have said were all in the same boat and it's great to just be able to chat on here.

Naschkatze · 17/10/2016 12:57

Jpeg I started feeling things about 17 weeks I think. Though I wasn't absolutely sure that's what is was until nearly 19. DH could hear things if he put his ear there though! Worth a try?! He got very definite kicks in the ear from about 19 weeks but I still can't really feel kicks from the outside with my hand if that makes sense.

It is amazing when you start to feel them (and a bit odd!) so I hope it happens for you soon!

XxBecxX · 17/10/2016 13:13

Hya ladies hope all is well.
Welcome newbies, a repeat of the other girls but we all know exactly how you guys are feeling xx

I discovered that my local baby bond do a dating scan for £39, I was thinking about you purple primarily to get you thru thill the 20 weeks mark.
I might book myself in for next week for an inbetween reassurance, my gender scan is booked for the 8th of November.

XxBecxX · 17/10/2016 13:23

I usually feel movement before 16 week but I've obviously got a very used and abused paper think womb lol

mrspage1985 · 17/10/2016 14:33

Slightly off topic question - but is anyone had there booking appt and been quite overweight at the time?
Mine is Monday and really staring to worry, I was dieting before my wedding in august and lost almost 40lbs, put a couple back on whilst away on honeymoon but lost them since being back. Lost about half stone since discovering I am pregnant - through the continuation of healthy eating and excersisr and some nausea!
However I am still quite overweight (high 30 bmi) though I plan to continue to loose weight throughout the pregnancy (safely mind!!) I am really worried what the midwife is going to say to me and if I am just going to feel like cr4p when I come out even though I am doing something about it?
Sorry for rambling - just wondering if anyone was ever in a similar position and how you found it? X

mrspage1985 · 17/10/2016 14:34

*high 30's bmi, not 30!

doleritedinosaur · 17/10/2016 14:51

Sorry haven't read posts but scan was good, saw baby's heart which was amazing.
But the cervix length check showed something the sonagrapher missed, twice, my placenta is covering the cervix which they would have missed & caused major problems at my home birth.
Two of them checked it & are pretty sure it won't move.

Trying not to freak out & concentrate on healthy baby but I have fast, early labours.

Hope everyone is okay, will read later.

Sah1987 · 17/10/2016 15:01

Mrs page I have 38 BMI so I have - they don't say a lot but if you tick three boxes (which I do not) then you get referred to consultant.

However I have been referred, as I have a thyroid condition x

XxBecxX · 17/10/2016 18:35

It's all a bit bullshit mrspage, I'm 5ft 6 and I weigh 15st, a stone was a gift from each of my 5 kids, they say my BMI is 35 or just under I can't remember but the last 3 pregnancys I haven't put an ounce on, it happens afterwards. They can sometime make you feel awful for it but personally my weight never alters it's not overeating it's literally pregnancy that gets me.
Don't worry about it, just try if possible to make slightly better choices, cut out the white bread and replace with wholemeal, green for red milk, butters fine in moderation.
The midwife was a bit surprised when she calculated my Bmi as she said I didn't look that heavy rofl.
I declined being referred to the weight management clinic, just be firm, unless you think you'll benefit from it xxxx
On a similar note I ordered myself a dress from wantthattrend.com, it was for Halloween but it fits so cozy that I'm going to order some plainer styles, I ordered size 18 which is XL, I'll attach a pic, hard to see the bottom half as I don't own a full length mirror lol but I carry all my weight round my belly like an apple and it's still got lots of baby growing room, it's a swing style and it was only £19.99!
Lol excuse the concentration face 😂

XxBecxX · 17/10/2016 18:37

Oh Dino that's a proper spanner on the works, are you now having to contemplate a C?
Xx

Sah1987 · 17/10/2016 19:09

Properly catching up with the messages, my boobs are in absolute agony today. And where I imagine my uterus is (under the 3 year old baby belly) has been stretching today plus I've got a sore back.

Some pluses and some negatives! Guess I'll just wait for Saturday, 1 more day gone, 4 days 19 hours to go!

Just as a quick one - can you normally get bloods on a Saturday at a hospital?? I didn't even think as never had a Saturday scan?

Shrimpymummy · 17/10/2016 19:18

Sah I've got a Saturday dating scan, and they've told me I'll have to go back first thing Monday to do the bloods. Not sure if that's the same everywhere - I'm at Whipps Cross.

Also having an early scan at the EPU tomorrow after the spotting. Really trying to stay positive, but just going back there has a lot of negative memories after last time. Here's hoping this time it's genuinely a reassurance scan!

LuckyinOctober · 17/10/2016 19:19

Dino glad baby's looking healthy, guessing you'll need a c-section, possibly slightly ahead of your due date given your early labour history? Hope you're being well looked after and thought about.

Bec that's great about your halloween costume!

I'm 25 weeks today, nothing too major to report other than baby is getting even more active and I'm enjoying that a lot.

purpleviolet1 · 17/10/2016 20:15

Hello everyone and welcome to the newbies. Lots of lovely support here.

Thank you so much for thinking of me bex, so sweet. I'll have a google and see if there is one local to me. Very good value.

Dole - really hope the placenta moves away as pregnancy progresses. How far are you now? I'm sure whatser had a low lying placenta...

Sah - i think you can get bloods on Saturdays.

Shrimpy - really hope it goes well for
You tomorrow. Can understand your anxiety.
I do read and enjoy all the updates.
Xxx

16+3 today

doleritedinosaur · 17/10/2016 20:37

Thanks everyone, I've calmed down & OH has been amazing. He's going to sort out holiday as well as paternity leave although can only afford him to have ten days of actual paternity leave so will have to see.

Consultant booked me in for a 32 week scan but he said oh anterior but the sonagraphers said it's completely covering cervix, they showed me where the vessels are that attached & they said in their experience (talking decades,) it wasn't moving.
I trust them over a consultant who never saw the scan.

Just looking at anaesthesia & antibiotic issues now but spinal should hopefully work. Has anyone had a c section?

Consultant pulled a face when I said DS was 3 weeks early & a hour. He said any bleeding go to hospital but had no spotting since 6 weeks & cervix is very healthy.

I'm so happy baby is healthy but they nearly missed it if it wasn't for my pushing of cervical length checks which are done internally. & I don't do well with medical interventions.

Looking at 23rd Feb for C section realistically.

Shrimpy & Sah welcome, this thread has alleviated so much anxiety I've had. No matter what time of day. Sorry you are here though.

Here is baby though.
