10 weeks tomorrow which is when I started bleeding with my mmc in July!! Nervous even though I know i feel different to last time and I saw a heartbeat at nearly 7 weeks.

MoonlightMojitos · 14/10/2016 18:57

Oh mcbaby fx for you. A nervous week ahead for both of us.

On another note... have any of you had a horrendous ingrown hair before down there? I've just made a new thread about it as really worried :(. I'm in so much pain! Just when my cramps have stopped last few days too, I'm not having much luck!

jpeg28 · 14/10/2016 19:15

Everything crossed for you Mcbaby and Wibble! At the beginning wibble I was doing IC every day to see if it was getting darker! Didn't do the CB digital ones tho as I know they cannot be trusted! Can you get an early scan maybe to put your mind at ease?

Oh moonlight they are so so painful!!! I'm too weak to deal with them sometimes! So good luck to me in labour! ConfusedGrin

MoonlightMojitos · 14/10/2016 19:37

Haha jpeg I think the same! I used to roll around in agony with period pains so wonder how on earth I will cope in labour. This is why I am choosing a MLU right next to a hospital so I can demand a quick transfer for an epidural if needed 😂

doleritedinosaur · 14/10/2016 20:19

I'm 19+1 today & seriously getting too big for normal clothes.
Baby is the size of a courgette according to Ovia.

Got 20 week scan on Monday with consultant appointment but our childcare for DS just fell through (fecking MIL.)
So I don't know what's going to happen as I really need OH so after distracting myself with yoga, reading about hypnobirthing & getting 2 rooms decluttered & organised just gone to pot.

Glad everyone has had good scans.

Ive got the discharge too & cramps were 12-14 weeks, lots of stretching.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Whatsername17 · 14/10/2016 21:02

Period pains are worse than labour. The worst part of labour is if you end up starting and stopping because you get tired and that's when it starts to become wearing. I had 4 hours if contractions every minute before I opted for a mobile epidural due to not progressing. I only had that because they thought I'd need a section and said it'd be quicker to get me into theatre of I had one. In order of worst paid ever, for me, it goes: 1. Tooth abcess, 2. Stubbing your toes and 3. Labour

LynseyH · 14/10/2016 21:21

I have to add a random post for those who will remember what a cow my sister can be...I just need to get it out!!
So still no acknowledgement of my baby being a girl, ignorance even when it was my birthday and barely spoke a word to me when we finally came face to face at my parents last wknd.... today...a msg with a link to a book she really wants and asking me to get it her for Christmas!! Is she for real?!?!

OP posts:
doleritedinosaur · 14/10/2016 22:57

Can you ignore her Lynsey? Is she actually expecting you to get her a Christmas present after ignoring you?

I agree with the stubbing toe & labour pain comparison Whatser not sure about abscess though.

Can't believe I'm actually agreeing to do it naturally all over again.

Nearly finished painting the kitchen, glad I'm doing it now halfway through as my bump is already massively getting in the way.

OH wants to know when nesting ends.

LynseyH · 14/10/2016 23:08

dino I couldn't ignore it this time. I've held my thoughts in up until this evening but although I was rather annoyed I sent a reasonably polite msg telling her I would presume that it was a joke for the reasons I've previously mentioned on here. She didn't reply, just instantly blocked me on Facebook! For saying she's older, she is incredibly immature.

On the pain, I have to disagree a little, my 2nd labour was hell on earth! I honestly felt traumatised for a few days after that one. Others were 'easier'! First I had pethidine with but 2nd and 3rd I had nothing. Time didn't allow. With wanting a home birth this time, I presume I won't have anything again. Yikes!

Nesting will probably not end for some time Wink

OP posts:
doleritedinosaur · 15/10/2016 00:51

Well done on listing your reasons. She showed her true colours by blocking you though. Families are just something else lately.

At least you'll hopefully save a bit of money on Christmas haha.

I wish I could tell MIL what for but she's made OH miserable the past few days & there is just no point. So took my frustration out by painting instead.

Kitchen is now done. Just need to convince OH he needs to do the hallway soon.

Ah second labour was more painful? I better up the hypnobirthing exercises. Hopefully this one will be a hour of active labour like DS.

OH did say the house is looking great just wishes I'd sit down more.

dreamingaboutcheese · 15/10/2016 06:04

Hi ladies. Hope everyone is doing well. I had a scan this week, heard & saw the baby and was told I'm 8+5. So far so good! Anyway, yesterday my DD (nearly 3) said "mummy have you got a baby in your tummy?". Out of nowhere! I just said "would you like that?" and distracted her. Has anyone got any tips on when they told young children about a new one coming? I'm obviously not out of the woods yet so don't want to raise hopes too early.

mrspage1985 · 15/10/2016 06:59

Morning, can't sleep here!

Went for my early scan yesterday and all is good - strong heartbeat and everything in its right place. After a miscarriage in June this year it's so relieving to hear all is fine - I literally sobbed when she said it was all ok.

Due date has been pushed back from the 27th May to the 4th June although I think it's nearer the 1st of June based on the dates we got down and dirty !!!

Debating weather to book another scan for another 2 weeks so I'm over the magic 8 weeks, the clinic gave me the chances of successful pregnancy after 6 weeks and 8 weeks but not sure on 7 weeks?! Numbers put my mind at ease, googled the life out of it yesterday but couldn't find much definitive, anyone known the success rates when a heartbeat is found at 7 weeks? I was told 78% for 6 weeks and 98% for 8 weeks x

LynseyH · 15/10/2016 09:11

Congratulations on the scans ladies! I've found as long as everything measures about right, things run smoother.
I know this isn't always the case but with both my mc, things didn't measure correctly for my dates of which I was sure.
cheese this time round I waited until the 12 week mark to tell the kids. They can't out you to others if they don't know either.
dino I wasn't trying to scare you, it's definitely not a given that the 2nd will hurt more! 3rd didn't hurt as bad as the 2nd....2nd was the biggest baby of my boys!
The only thing I will express again though, make sure you have strong painkillers for the after pains.
I didn't know about them til I experienced them and I thought I was somehow in labour again. It was a day or so after the birth that they started I think. Not sure if it's true or not but they apparently get worse after each baby Shock

OP posts:
MoonlightMojitos · 15/10/2016 09:16

Oh this is reassuring to know labour might not be as bad as I'm worrying about then. God, stubbing your toe hurts lol but I imagine labour to be 100 times worse than that! dinosaur and lynsey that's reassuring that you're planning on doing it again naturally too, can't be that bad!

Congrats on the scans dreaming and mrspage! Dreaming I wonder what made her ask that?

lynsey wow, sorry your sister can be such a cow. That must be hard on you :(. Did anything trigger this or has she always been like that? It's very immature of her to block you like that! But we'll done of you for being rational about it with your reply.

MoonlightMojitos · 15/10/2016 09:21

mrspage I find these stats quite reassuring for putting my mind at rest as each day passes but it's just general rather than once a heartbeat gas been seen.

spacefem.com/pregnant/mc.php?m=08&d=10&y=12

jpeg28 · 15/10/2016 10:12

Lynsey your sister sounds like a very immature person! Blocking you on Facebook?!!! My younger sisters do that to me every time we fall out... pathetic! I hope she comes round eventually and apologises for being such a selfish person.

Congrats on scan dreaming and that's so cute about your DD!

I'm getting scared about labour already... I'm so rubbish with pain!!

I'm at the in laws today... I think being pregnant has made me less tolerant!

LynseyH · 15/10/2016 10:33

Sister has always been very selfish and self involved. She literally makes me rage but I've said nothing til last night. Even then I was polite and explained why I think she needs to take a step back and think about things. I knew her response would either be to ignore or fire at me, I literally don't have time for her anymore. She hasn't learnt to be a nicer person before so I doubt she'll start now.

jpeg do not think about labour pains! I'm rubbish with pain too but I purposely didn't worry myself about it until it happened. The more you think about it, the more you'll work yourself up over it. Just let it happen and you'll be amazed how you cope.
With my first I was only 20, a single mum with no idea. I went into labour in the early hours, lay down until I couldn't, ran a bath and sat in that until that was no use then woke my parents up and said "can we go hospital now". It did run smoothly! Keeping calm helps a lot xx

Lovely to see some good scan results this morning Smile

lyndsey obviously I don't no the back story but your sister sounds like a real pain!

I can honestly say with labour with my DS by the time I was full term the labour fears had all gone because I was so desperate to go into labour and get him out Grin, it was different with DD as she had already passed away but i had an epidural (they just let me have it stronger than normal) and it was brilliant, I no natural birth is better but I'd deff have an epidural again in any future labours.

Me and DH have an incredibly rare night out tonight, last one was over a year ago, don't no what to do now I can't drink tho! I got the 2-3 weeks on the cb this morning as well, going to try and start weaning myself off tests I think now as the ICs still aren't that dark so they obviously can't be very accurate.

Hope everyone else is ok today Smile

Badgerbird · 15/10/2016 11:09

mrs and cheese congrats on your scans! They are pretty amazing aren't they :) I sobbed too mrs, infact I made a right tit out of myself and nearly hyperventilated as had never had a good scan before (2 MMC) so was in shock! I don't know what odds are at 7 weeks (I was 7.1 when had scan) but just thought better than 6 and nearly as good as 8! I stopped googling stuff as I go down an anxiety rabbit hole otherwise Confused

dino well done on the DIY! We are in the middle of house renovation and I'm feeling a bit useless! Do what I can as normally I'm very involved but I'm still only 8.2 so don't wanna risk anything, boring! I'm great at wallpaper stripping though and reckon painting with emulsion is ok isn't it?

mrspage1985 · 15/10/2016 11:20

Thanks mojitos for the stats - they are very positive!
Lyndsey - my sympathies for your your sister - sounds like hassle that you just don't need!! Xx

mrspage1985 · 15/10/2016 11:22

Badger think I need to stop googling! We didn't get to heartbeat stage last time so this is already more real than before.
Symptoms are more as well, been to the gym this morning for PT session and now I need to go back to bed!! Looking forward to getting some more energy back in trimester 2!

Did you have another scan after your 7.1 but before the standard 12 week? Xx

doleritedinosaur · 15/10/2016 12:44

That's great news on the scans, hope it continues that way.

I've already got a bigger bump than with DS so not sure if this one will be bigger. I've heard the after pains get more painful with each birth too Lynsey, problem is I'll be breastfeeding so no idea what else I could take other than paracetamol.

That's my thinking Moonlight but I am doing pregnancy yoga and hypnobirthing to feel more in control this time around. I wasn't prepared for the pushing stage and I want to be this time. Plus I was lucky DS was just over a hour once they broke my waters.

Badger that sounds good, I did google painting when pregnant and NHS says after 13 weeks & that paint now has less chemicals than it used to, but keep the room well ventilated. You can get masks from poundland and places that can stop you breathing in so much paint. A whole house renovation sounds amazing, have you got much left to do?
We moved in nearly 14 months ago and I just want it finished now, though there's not too much left to do. The nesting is definitely helping.

I had my first Braxton hicks while out shopping earlier, nearly doubled over and I forgot how painful they are.

Glad you had a good night out Alb and looks like the tests are moving in the right direction.

I tried Aldi decaf tea today as this one loves tea and its actually drinkable, so I'm happy.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

dreamingaboutcheese · 15/10/2016 12:44

Thanks guys. The sonographer had to tell me to open my eyes during the scan as I was so scared of bad news and then I heard this boom boom boom of its little pulse and my eyes flew open!

I blubbed too Mrs

Mojito I have no idea why she asked, she suddenly looked at my tummy and came up with it. They say toddlers can be really perceptive.

I feel for all you ladies doing DIY we just completed on a house and have to do a total renovation. It's a building site and we have to be in in 2 weeks time!! Talk about rubbish timing!

jpeg28 · 15/10/2016 12:57

That's a good sign Alb that you got 2-3... and hope you had a lovely night out with your DH

Mrspage that's amazing you went to the gym! For the first 12 weeks I did nothing! Finally started to get some more energy so had my first gym session yesterday. I'm a bit scared to over do it.

Is it weird that I don't want to tell people I'm pregnant? We are down at the in laws and having to tell everyone and I just don't like doing it. The only people I've told have been via text or because I have had to at work. I just don't like saying the words. I'm excited of course... don't know why I don't like telling people!

MoonlightMojitos · 15/10/2016 13:13

dino what is the hypnobirthing thing like? I've heard good things about it but I'm not in to hippy mumbo jumbo stuff, (no offense to anyone who is) and things like that make me feel really self conscious... is it worth a look for me? Also just a note I drink Yorkshire tea decaf, I love it as a strong tea drinker!

dreaming they definately can. I used to work in a nursery and it's surprising what they pick up on and come out with!

jpeg I hate being the centre of attention and anything that makes people all emotional, just not good with things like that so I'm dreading telling people and them making a fuss! I'll be 13 weeks at my works Xmas do so I'm hoping I can casually tell a few people then when they ask why I'm not drinking and let the news spread and be done with it!
