38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

DH has just left. Will ring him if anything starts to happen. Hoping i can get some sleep tonight.

Is the football match far millie fingers crossed it wont be Wednesday though. Although id try my best to get baby out just to pi$$ PIL off Grin

MillieMoodle · 11/09/2016 22:44

Hope you manage to get a decent night's sleep Jen.

The football match is a couple of hours away and involves driving to a certain point and then getting a train, so it won't be easy for DH to get back quickly. He'll be away from mid-afternoon until probably around midnight so I just need to make sure that baby either comes by Wednesday lunchtime or stays put until Thursday morning!

MillieMoodle · 12/09/2016 07:13

Morning all

Jen hope you had a decent night's sleep and that things are progressing or have progressed well.

I had an ok night's sleep, can't believe it's Monday already though. Where does the weekend go?!

Jenjen85 · 12/09/2016 07:20

Morning

Nothing happening here at all. Had a few period/bach ache pains in the night but nothing this morning. 3 ladies who came in way after me have all gone over to labour ward Angry Had a rubbish nights sleep too as was woken every 4hrs for monitoring plus the ward was really noisy so had about 3hrs sleep. Got the start of a cracking migraine too Sad Hoping they will break my waters today

MillieMoodle · 12/09/2016 07:35

Aw Jen sorry to hear not much is happening Sad what time will your DH be back up to the hospital? Make sure you have something decent to eat this morning and sleep if you can. How many cms dilated are you? I think they broke my waters at 4cm last time but they did say they would have done it at less dilation if necessary. Have got everything crossed that things get a move on for you this morning Flowers

I have got the midwife coming at some point today to try another sweep. Not sure what time yet as she hasn't let me know. No real aches and pains here except for the usual hips/pelvis/back aches.

Jenjen85 · 12/09/2016 07:41

I think hes just getting himself some breakfast then heading in millie well i was 2cm yesterday and the midwife was debating if to put the propess in or break my waters but she decided on the propess. Im now thinking it might have been better to break my waters. Wont be assessed again until around 1.30pm as thats when it went in yesterday so cant see much happening this morning Sad Im desperately awaiting breakfast as im starving ha ha

Good luck with your sweep. Hope things progress from there

Womenareliketeabags · 12/09/2016 07:48

I tried to post the following an hour ago but my 3G wouldn't allow it!

Morning all! Hope your doing well overnight Jen

Well an eventful day yesterday after waking up thinking it would never happen. Had my sweep at 2pm, contractions started in the car going home, 5pm I rang the hospital as they were every 5ish mins, they sent a midwife out to assess me who arrived at 18.00ish, waters went at 19.10 and baby boy born at 19.51. My home birth and midwives were amazing, 2nd midwife walked through the door as his head crowning! Unfortunately afterwards I didn't stop bleeding so ended up in an ambulance to hospital. I had some retained membrane sac, once that was removed all sorted itself out. I just want to get me and baby home to DH and DS.

Womenareliketeabags · 12/09/2016 07:49

Hope thinks go well for you today Jen keep us updated.

Jenjen85 · 12/09/2016 07:57

Wow women congratulations you dont hang around Grin enjoy your bewborn cuddles. Glad you got the home birth you wanted

MillieMoodle · 12/09/2016 08:16

Congratulations women! Lovely news and sounds like it was all pretty quick. Hope you are feeling well this morning and hope you can get home soon.

Just wishing I didn't have to wait until Friday to be induced now. I'd rather get it started instead of being in limbo for another few days. I'm fairly sure the sweep will do nothing, so trying not to get my hopes up too much. I said to DH when I first found out I was pregnant that I thought I'd end up being induced again.

0hCrepe · 12/09/2016 08:43

Congratulations women! Hope you get back home soon.

Hang in there Jen, rest while you can and how exciting you'll have your baby before you know it!

I've been bouncing on my gym ball but no signs of anything apart from 2 BH yesterday about 12hrs apart! See consultant on Thursday who will probably examine me and talk about induction due to my age. Not sure whether to go for it or not.

Goldenvalley · 12/09/2016 09:10

Congratulations women. What a speedy labour! Glad you had the home birth you wanted.

jen I thought of you when I woke up this morning. Hope you've had some breakfast now. I know it's disheartening but just to echo someone up thread my first labour was slow for ages and looked like nothing was happening but I was suddenly 10cm and DH nearly missed the birth because they'd sent him away thinking nothing much was happening. Ended up having my DC 10 minutes after he got back to the room! You're in the right place and one way or another it'll all happen soon now. Good luck.

Dilligufdarling · 12/09/2016 09:11

Yay! Congratulations women that's awesome news Grin
Hope you're able to get home very soon!

jen hope things are starting to move for you. Or that they do soon.

I'm still only 38 +2 so a way to go. DH did say yesterday that he thought my bump had dropped, I had a feel though and the baby's head's definitely not engaged yet so I think he's just being over excited! Smile

MillieMoodle · 12/09/2016 10:01

Jen hope you managed to get some breakfast and that your DH has returned!

Probably TMI (sorry) but I've had an upset stomach this morning. It could be the start of things or it could be the food I had when we went out for lunch yesterday. Who knows?! Midwife is now coming between 1 and 2 so hopefully she'll be able to do a sweep. Have got my mum coming over this morning at some point too.

spacepoodle · 12/09/2016 10:38

Congratulations women! Sounds like things went very quickly. Hope you manage to go home today.

Good luck Jen, hope things progress for you.

I'm on my way to the hospital soon for my c-section so will have a baby by the end of today. It's a very strange feeling. Anxious to meet baby and check he's ok in all that fluid!

Goldenvalley · 12/09/2016 10:43

Good luck spacepoodle how exciting!

0hCrepe · 12/09/2016 10:44

Good luck space!! I'm watching my second episode of one born. Every time a baby arrives I'm in tears. So exciting for everyone!

MillieMoodle · 12/09/2016 10:51

Good luck space!

All these babies on their way, wish mine would take a hint!

Jenjen85 · 12/09/2016 11:02

Good luck space

millie could be a sign Grin i had a bad tummy just before i had DD. I had an exciting breakfast of toast ha ha DH arrived around 9am with custard creams Grin

MillieMoodle · 12/09/2016 11:33

Glad he brought you biscuits Jen. He sounds like a good man! Hope things get moving soon Flowers

Jenjen85 · 12/09/2016 12:16

He's a goodun millie getting back pain and period pain a bit more often so hoping it might be the start of something. Should be getting assessed soon too

SockQueen · 12/09/2016 13:39

Good luck with the section space! And congratulations Women Flowers

Hope you're getting on ok Jen - keep us updated after your assessment if you can.

MillieMoodle · 12/09/2016 13:44

Ooh, come on miniJen! Hope your assessment has gone well.

I am waiting for the midwife to come and do my sweep. She will need to get a move on as I need to leave to get DS from school in 45 mins!

Jenjen85 · 12/09/2016 14:05

Not been assessed yet as Dr is currently in theatre so could be waiting a couple of hrs the midwife said Sad currently sat on a ball trying to bounce this child out.

Hope the midwife hurries up for you millie

MillieMoodle · 12/09/2016 14:29

Midwife has been. She said cervix still very posterior, but very soft. She doesn't think there's any change from when I had the last attempted sweep on Thursday. She couldn't reach far enough back to check whether cervix has dilated at all so couldn't do a sweep. Looks like it'll be induction on Friday then Sad

Hope you don't have to wait too much longer to be assessed Jen, you must be really fed up now.
