38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

jen that sounds brilliant having your own mw - is that a private thing? I've never heard of that before!

Just did my hypno cd and woke myself up snoring... Oh the glamour!!

DH was just a major hero and valiantly fought off a MASSIVE hornet I the kitchen. I shouted encouragement from the front door Grin

Jenjen85 · 08/09/2016 22:52

dilli no not a private thing. Its funded by NHS only in certain regions i think, im in the North West. They activlwy encourage home births but iv opted for a hospital one. My midwife is really lovely Smile

Iv never bothered with hipnobirthing but my friends done it twice and said it really helped.

Oooh hornets are horrible well done your DH for sorting it out!

I'm miserable and late in pregnancy and would love some company, but am currently stuck at the hospital and have been in Since Wednesday afternoon. I will be (as of midnight) 42 weeks. This induction business seems to be doing bugger all. I've had some tightenings but no real contractions and my cervix is still v posterior and firmly closed. At 4pm tomorrow (Friday) I will be assessed again and will have had two lots of propess for 24 hours each, and then they'll start talking about next steps. I would love to say i think I won't need next steps as I will be in labour or at least dilated a bit but I really don't think it's doing anything. I need a bomb stuck up there not a bloody pessary!!

TheInimitableMrsFanshawe · 09/09/2016 06:11

Morning all. On the sofa in the early morning AGAIN Hmm. Better than yesterday (EDD by scan) when I had a fun round of "Braxtons or contractions?" at midnight then couldn't sleep until 3.

Today is EDD by dates and with DS they brought more forward so far which gave me false expectations when my "due date" went whizzing past my ears and then went 10 days over before I even got any contractions.

My money is on a Monday baby. Fingers crossed and I'll try to relax until then...

Morning all and hello Leli Smile

Had a rubbish night's sleep, up every hour for a wee, hips and pelvis really achey after yesterday's sweep and bump feels really heavy. Have had some crampy feelings but I think things are still a bit sore from yesterday rather than it being anything exciting happening.

Glad it's Friday so DH will be home from lunchtime. Had a bit of a lie in this morning so now have to rush to get DS ready for school. Best get off MN!

Jenjen85 · 09/09/2016 08:11

Morning all

I had quite a good nights sleep but feel really tired this morning. No pains or anything for me after the sweep yesterday Sad

leli hope things start progressing for you soon. Im booked in for induction on Sunday and praying its quick but i know it wont be.

Going to take DD to nursery but going to walk as hoping it will do me good Hmm altho my pelvis is screaming NOOOOOOO. It feels like iv been kicked its rather painful

Jenjen85 · 09/09/2016 09:11

So the walk to nursery just gave me a stitch Sad now sat eating pineapple in a desperate bid to help things along

Jenjen85 · 09/09/2016 14:53

This thread is very quiet today ladies. I hope your not all off having babies without me Grin

0hCrepe · 09/09/2016 14:58

I'm still here! Had lunch with a friend who's a student midwife and she fed me a load of pineapple, then took the dog for a walk. No signs of anything though!

Womenareliketeabags · 09/09/2016 15:04

Had my next sweep and I was 3cm dilated and 100% effaced, cervix was soft and stretch, right at the front and babies head is right on top of it. My midwife is hopefully we will have a baby before tomorrow evening. I'm planning a home birth and she is on call tomorrow so se has asked me to try and wait until 8am for her shift to start. Just been to aldi for a) food shopping obviously and b) to walk!

0hCrepe · 09/09/2016 15:13

Oh wow 3cm already!! Exciting stuff! Good luck!

Jenjen85 · 09/09/2016 15:18

Wow thats great women not the slightest but jealous Grin fingers crossed you have a baby by the end of the weekend. Get bouncing on your ball and get a good nights sleep (if it doesnt start before then)

Iv had yet another afternoon nap Hmm

0hCrepe · 09/09/2016 15:44

Talking of balls I've just ordered one, not as expensive as I thought, will have a practice bounce tonight!

Womenareliketeabags · 09/09/2016 15:45

I'm bouncing on mine as I type! Got mine for less than a tenner I think when I was pregnant with DS and it's been used by two of my friends in between and I'm using it again. Definitely value for money! Get to just sit on if you have spd too.

Jenjen85 · 09/09/2016 15:54

Actually want to cry now as 3 people on my Facebook who were due AFTER me have all given birth Sad Angry think i need to avoid facebook now why is this baby taking so long!

ohidoliketobe · 09/09/2016 16:40

Well, I had an interstong night....
Woke with a few pains at 3.30, had a bath and they were fairly steady. Really ramped up at 7ish, got to hospital just after 8 and baby was born at 8.18! Eek! 5lb 9 oz girl. Swiftly followed by haemorrhage (again) and stiches (ouch). But all fine in the grand scheme of things. Just on postnatal ward waiting for a decision on a transfusion for me. Fingers crossed I'll be home tonight.

0hCrepe · 09/09/2016 16:45

Goodness that's fast work! Lucky you got there, congratulations!! Hope you're feeling all better and back home soon Flowers

0hCrepe · 09/09/2016 16:49

And great timing for your parents' holiday! Grin

Jenjen85 · 09/09/2016 16:49

Congratulations oh fingers crossed your allowed home tonight! Stitches aren't all that bad mine healed really quickly with DD just dont do too much

ohidoliketobe · 09/09/2016 17:14

jen trying my best not to cough!! Blush
Yep nanny and Grandad managed to squeeze in some cuddles this afternoon before they head off to mallorca. Not bad for them!
Hope things get moving asap for the rest of you! You've been a great source of distraction these past two weeks.

MillieMoodle · 09/09/2016 17:48

Congratulations oh! Flowers

Don't worry Jen, I'm still here, have got a bit of ironing done today and DH has just had me walking round toys r us (again). I think he thinks that if I go into labour in there, we'll get a load of free toys or something!

Have been having fanny daggers all afternoon and am walking even slower than a snail now. Just want this baby to arrive! It's very wriggly still, but because all the movement is really low down I constantly feel like I need a wee.

Come on overdue babies, hurry up!

Dilligufdarling · 09/09/2016 18:40

oh that's such lovely news!!! Huge congratulations!!
Ditto on not doing kuch with stitches - it's a great excuse to mainly have baby snuggles on the sofa! Grin

fingers crossed for you too women sounds like all of the signs are there.

Welcome to the thread lelli.

I'm also loving my ball for SPD purposes - it's a lifesaver some evenings!

Have had a lovely day today with my parents. They about 2hours drive away, but will be coming over to look after DS when the baby is born. Bit scary that will almost certainly be the next time I see them now!

Jenjen85 · 09/09/2016 19:00

millie iv just walked round asda with DH saying he hopes i go into labour so we get free stuff Grin

Iv had a few fanny daggers today but mostly feel like iv been kicked in the bum cos of my SPD. Dreading giving birth as can hardly open my legs. Feeling slightly anxious about Sundays induction!

SockQueen · 10/09/2016 00:19

Congratulations oh! That was speedy work!

Nothing much happening here, despite it being my due date. Slightly more crampy Braxton Hicks than before, but no serious action. Felt very tired and a bit under the weather though. Sad

Dilligufdarling · 10/09/2016 04:59

Morning all!
Gotta love a bit of preggo insomnia... Ah well that's what naps are made for :)

No labour symptoms here at all. I'm only 38w, but I'm also fairly sure I'm going to be a later one.

Hope you're all sleeping peacefully... Smile
