38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap Angry

Oh lovely news foxes another graduate from the thread.
Jen hope yours comes before Sunday for you.

Will we have any babies arriving today I wonder?! Nothing ro report from me. No twinges. No aches. No pains. Think it might be another week for me. DH reckons today - both of our birthdays are on the 6th as is our wedding anniversary. He's also got a meeting on Thursday he's desperate to get out of so I think it's wishful thinking! Had a bad night's sleep just couldn't get comfy at all, so went back to bed after sorting DS out for nursery.

Jenjen85 · 06/09/2016 12:34

ohido definitely wont be me today.

Im feeling quite tired today even tho i had a lie in till 8.30. No signs whatsoever here. Going to ask for another sweep on thursday in the hope that starts me off before being induced

SockQueen · 06/09/2016 13:13

No signs from me either. Slept badly, I'm getting worsening hip pain so can't stay in one position for long enough to nod off. I'm seeing the consultant on Thursday so wondering if he'll do a sweep (or at least assess my cervix, oh the glamour!) or if I'll have to wait till next week for that.

Jen my little sister was born on a Sunday the week after I started pre-school. I went to visit her that day and then apparently wouldn't shut up about it when I went to pre-school on Monday! I'm sure your DD will get on fine

MillieMoodle · 06/09/2016 13:25

I had quite a long nap Blush I really had to force myself to get up and make some lunch.

Have had a few aches and pains; had what I thought might have been the start of contractions around 11.30, on and off for an hour or so, with a pain high up on my left side, under my ribs. I think it was just trapped wind though Blush it hasn't completely gone but it's better than it was. Would love to go back to sleep but have to go and collect DS in an hour and a half, so had better not. Early night for me tonight though I think, I'm exhausted!

I don't mind the texts from certain people i.e. those who've taken an interest throughout my pregnancy and I see regularly, as I know they actually care. It's the ones from people I rarely see and who have only decided to get in contact this week, then when I reply to say nothing's happening and ask how they are, I don't get another response!

Womenareliketeabags · 06/09/2016 13:27

Just returned from my appointment with consultant to discuss induction (I've refused induction at 12 days over but agreed for 14 days over) she offered me a sweep whilst I was there and I'm 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. She thinks it's really really likely that I'll go into labour by myself before I need to be induced. I'm in
Absolute agony now with hideous hideous period pains since this, she has obviously given it a really good poke about.

Fingers crossed it works.

MillieMoodle · 06/09/2016 13:46

Ooh good luck women! Fingers crossed it's the start of it all!

I've got a sweep booked on Thursday morning but not holding out a great deal of hope. With DS I had two attempted sweeps; the first she couldn't even reach my cervix (although it felt like she was trying to reach my eyeballs!) and the second she could only tip it.

Feeling more fed up than usual today. Have got my chiropractor tomorrow morning so that will give me something to do; she will sort my back/hips/pelvis out as best she can. It's helped loads with the spd.

Tans1987 · 06/09/2016 13:56

38 weeks 1 day first baby. Very teary and keep having labour nightmares.... and Braxton Hicks... ConfusedConfused xx

ohidoliketobe · 06/09/2016 14:31

Sounds promising women! My first labour started with period cramp type pains. All this talk of sweeps reminded me I hadn't booked my 40 wk appointment! All sorted for a week today.

tans hello! I'm ridiculous at the moment with emotions. Everything is setting me off. I didn't have braxton hicks in previous pregnancy but had a few this time around- really take your breath away don't they!

Jenjen85 · 06/09/2016 15:08

Im also ridiculously teary at the minute too. Almost cried on the phone to DDs nursery teacher when asking about details for tomorrow.

Iv had another headache/migraine with zig zag lines in my vision so just had to take some paracetamol and have a nap while DD watched a film. Feel bad for wasting our last day off together but felt awful

millie im asking for another sweep thursday too as my midwife said it might help before the induction

Loobylou873 · 06/09/2016 15:11

Oooooo that sounds really promising women! Babe today I reckon, good luck!

MillieMoodle · 06/09/2016 16:19

Hi tans and looby!

Whatever was going on earlier seems to have calmed down now and I'm feeling much better, although still tired. No real aches or pains so it must have just been actual stomach ache. Have done nothing all day, which has been lovely but I also feel a bit guilty.

DH is living in hope each day that the baby will arrive and he won't have to go to work the next day bless him. It must be so hard to organise workload and plan when you don't know whether you'll be back in the next day!

Have got a friend popping over on Thursday after my sweep for a cuppa and a chat, so maybe if I'm looking forward to that it will take my mind off being overdue.

The weather here is much warmer than it was yesterday and I'm struggling a bit with the heat again this afternoon.

MillieMoodle · 06/09/2016 16:22

Jen is it an ocular migraine? I have had those before and they are horrible, it's really scary when you can't see properly. I can't take the combined pill because of them. I hope it goes soon, they are really draining. Flowers

Dilligufdarling · 06/09/2016 16:40

Hi Looby and Tans :)

jen don't feel guilty about your dd, you'll have tons of time with her in the future and at the moment you've just got to do what you need to get trough the day.

I've not been teary really but have been quite irritable, particularly in the mornings when DH or DS get to far into my personal space. It doesn't help that it's been about 1million % humidity here either today.

Have got my first ever preggo massage tomorrow - am quite excited :) also have the mw.

Work have been contacting me a lot with queries... Part of me is a little pissed off by this. AIBU?

Jenjen85 · 06/09/2016 16:46

millie my OH keeps praying he doesnt have to go to work the next day too ha ha. Hes hoping that baby doesnt arrive Saturday as football on Shock not sure what am ocular migraine is but i suffered from them before i had DD 3years ago but not had one since. Its very strange not being able to see and paracetamol doesnt really shift them.

Its warm here too so just bern wearing a long maxi dress, last night was really warm think it was about 24 degrees at 7.30.

Iv just booked to have my nails done tomorrow afternoon Grin

Dilligufdarling · 06/09/2016 16:47

Forgot to say women my first labour very much had periody type pains through the early stages.

Goldenvalley · 06/09/2016 16:50

Hi everyone. I'm only 36 weeks but watching your thread and thought I'd say hello. There's something very reassuring about knowing others are
going through the same things, and I love hearing about everyone's symptoms and labours!

Jenjen85 · 06/09/2016 16:52

dilli definitely not being unreasonable. If i were you id just not answer your off so not your problem Grin im surprised that iv only had 1 call since being off i expected quite a few

MillieMoodle · 06/09/2016 17:05

Dilli I have been irritable as well, although I've had teary moments too. The massage sounds fab, definitely could do with something like that. My chiropractor does a bit of soft tissue massage but it can be quite painful as she's rearranging my joints as well! I had a massage when I went for a spa day a couple of years ago, the only one I've ever had and it was pure bliss! YANBU regarding work, cheeky feckers! I've been off since the beginning of August and they've only contacted me to see if I've had the baby yet!

Jen my DH is off to the football next Wednesday night and is desperate for the baby to be here before that (with enough time for me to be home from hospital and relatively well) or if I have to be induced, to be booked in after next Wednesday. I've said I'm not sure the NHS operates their induction system on the basis of whether there are important football matches on Hmm

Hi Golden and welcome Grinnot long to go for you either then!

Jenjen85 · 06/09/2016 21:11

Oh ladies please tell me i need to pull myself together for DDs first day at preschool tomorrow. Iv just sat and sobbed at a first day at school poem. I have no idea how im going to hold it together tomorrow Sad I really dont want to be a blubbering mess in the playground.

Bloody pregnancy hormones!

Dilligufdarling · 06/09/2016 21:33

Ahh jen it's hard! And the bloody hormones won't be helping!
I've got mine starting next Thursday, at the moment I'm fairly chilled but am not expecting to stay that way!

You defo won't be the only one at the school doing it and you do have a very good extra excuse at the moment.
Just think though, it will make the next few days that little bit easier only having yourself to look after!

MillieMoodle · 06/09/2016 21:45

Aw Jen it's ok to get teary, I just tried not to do it in front of DS! I was fine when he started pre-school, I was ok at school when he started last year but then went home and cried. This year was worst, I could feel the tears coming as he was lining up to go in yesterday morning, I can't believe he's in year one already! I have enjoyed a couple of days peace and quiet now though Grin

Jenjen85 · 07/09/2016 09:21

Morning ladies. Well just dropped DD off at preschool and managed to hold it together just until i got out of the door. Just had a good old sob when i got in though. I wouldn't mind but she was looking forward to going and was so excited its just me thats a mess.

Had a rubbish nights sleep too but im glad iv made it until today, baby is now free to come whenever he likes as im not a week overdue!

MillieMoodle · 07/09/2016 10:04

Aw Jen glad your DD was excited about pre-school. And well done you for keeping it together in front of her. She'll have a fab time. Enjoy the peace and quiet Grin

Jenjen85 · 07/09/2016 10:12

millie thanks Smile currently sat on the sofa watching crap daytime tv eating Biscuit

Womenareliketeabags · 07/09/2016 11:06

She'll love it Jen. My DS has an hour stay and play at his nursery school on Friday in dreading it and either me or his Dad will be staying with him (depending on baby) when I think about it I just want to burst I to tears.

I'm feeling majorly fed up and fucked off today. Thought things might start after my sweep yesterday but nothing seems to be happening. Feel really teary and hormonal. Another text to DH this morning 'has she had the baby!?' To which I shouted 'tell everyone to sod off!' I fucking haven't had my baby and I'm getting royally annoyed!
