Anyone fancy a late pregnancy misery loves company thread?

38+1 with dc2. Completely torn between wanting this baby out RIGHT NOW and wanting to wait at least until 1 September. Uncomfortable, hot, tired, can't sleep properly, baby's movements now all uncomfortable at best and physically painful at worst.

And my in laws arrive for that weekend later today. They have been asked not to arrive before 5pm so that I have the day to use as I please without waiting in for them; I would put money on them ringing the bell hours earlier while I'm trying to nap

So turns out i just pi$$ed myself all obs are fine so being booked in for an induction next monday really wanted to avoid that happening

Aw bless you Jen. At least you know all is well and you have a latest date for baby's arrival. Hopefully baby will put in an appearance before that though!

I have done some more cleaning and picked DS up from school. He seems to have settled back into it well and is just chilling in front of the tv now.

Fingers crossed for you it happens before next week Jen!

Just watching a film and then I've promised the dog we're going out. Walking downstairs has just been really painful though!

Change of plan now i think as Dr just said they want to keep me in

I saw the midwife this afternoon for my 38 week app and bump has grown 5cm in less than 2 weeks (explains the sudden appearance of stretch marks)! She thinks there is a lot of fluid, baby feels huge (scans and bump have always been average) and she couldn't tell where he was lying so I'm booked in for a scan on Weds. Depending on how the scan goes baby may be here sooner than expected. Can't decide whether to go on a cleaning/nesting rampage or get some naps in while I can!

Oh Jen sounds like you've been passed from pillar to post today. Hope you have got home and can put your feet up now. And hope baby gets a wriggle on before Sunday.

Good luck for your scan space, it will be lovely to see baby again! I had lots of scans with DS, due to bleeding early on and because he was an awkward wotsit, the last was at 38 weeks as they couldn't tell if he was breach or not. Only had a 12 week and a 20 week scan this time and I feel like it's been ages since we've seen the baby!

I had aquanatal tonight, felt really nice being in the water though I can't do some of the exercises now. Now sitting on my ball once again...

Thanks ladies. Finally got out of the hospital at 5.45 from 1.30. Just been to the pub for tea as DD decided she wanted to sleep at nanas hoping baby arrives before sunday as dread an induction

Well baby boy arrived early this evening and we are just attempting to get some sleep although I'm not at all sure we will!

jen that sounds so stressful! I can't remember when your due date is? Are you over already? Sunday's a long time away, big fingers crossed for movement from your little one before then.

I got myself in a proper tiz earlier because the baby hadn't moved much. I think it's maybe turned around so the kicks that I was feeling before are now directed at the placenta/internally. Almost went to the hospital for monitoring, and then it woke up properly and started jigging about.
Have spent the evening trying to get DH to buy into Hypnobirthing... I think it's working!

I had an ok night's sleep but am struggling with getting up early to get DS ready for school. I think I might need to have a little nap when I've dropped him off this morning!

I made the mistake of having baked beans with my dinner last night. They don't usually have any effect on me but my stomach has been growing and rumbling all night

dilli im 6 days over now hoping baby comes fri night/sat morning so DD has some time with baby before going back to nursery.

Jen I am intending to have a nap right now! DS at school, DH at work.

Have had a steady stream of texts this morning from people asking if there's any news. I'm only 3 days over but I'm really hoping it happens soon!

I think I'll watch another obem in bed. I've exhausted myself taking a delivery of shopping! The driver seemed to not have noticed I was pg and he asked what I was doing today and I basically said lazing about!

Don't really mind the texts, at least people care. Not officially due til tomorrow though so will see how ratty I'm feeling by the end of the week! Seeing midwife tomorrow and DEF going to have a sweep, let's get this show on the road! In the meantime, might just eat another slice of chocolate cake.....🍰
