Bec with anti D, my midwife said to ask who ever is administering the injection if it can get to room temperature first so it doesn't burn as much.
I know after the birth with DS I had it in my leg and it didn't hurt at all, so seems to work if warmer.
I had whooping cough and anti D same day which was so not a good idea.
If it helps I'm not having the flu jab, it has made me ill in the past & is only 55% effective so I'm better off without it.

Hello Jo, that sounds so hard. I'm having cervical length checks but not due to previous loss. Its good they're keeping an eye on you and hopefully they can prevent it this time.

Dreaming when are they scanning you again?
Its possible you could have ovulated later, scans before 8 weeks can be hard to tell.

Hope today is good to you Whatser and that walk goes quickly.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Bec I'm with you on being reluctant to get the flu or whooping cough jabs. I didn't last time and don't intend to this time either. Everyone I know has been ill as a result of the flu jab and doesn't get it again. Why would anyone risk that when they're pregnant? Especially early on. As for the whooping cough one, it seems a bit too experimental for my likings. It was a long time ago but I just can't forget the girl at school who was fine before having it and brain damaged after.

doleritedinosaur · 30/09/2016 12:18

Whooping cough vaccine doesn't cause brain damage?
There was a very old vaccine from 1970s which seemed to cause trouble but this is a new vaccine now & has no issues & is given all over the world.

I know there's pros & cons with vaccines & massive debates but whooping cough is very serious for a baby to get.
But it is up to individuals.

Thanks Dino. I don't have a date yet, waiting for my doctor to call once she's seen the results from today. So I'm back in limbo again. There was only one date insemination could have happened but I guess a few days either way on implantation may make a difference. I guess I'll just have to wait and see next week.

XxBecxX · 30/09/2016 17:47

Apparently, not counting the ovulation days, sperm can supposedly live for 5 days in the right condition, where you 100% cheese on when you O'd?
That potentially could give you almost a whole weeks difference?

Yeah I'll tell them about the room temp anti D tip as its most uncomfortable.
And I'm deffo feelin anti flu and anti whooping, there was some conjecture that the zeka virus might have eminated from a new jab over in Brazil as all the affected babies mothers had been administered some new vaccine, it's a hard one, I haven't heard of any friends or friends of friends kids getting the whooping cough around me, why has it come back now anyone know?

Hope you've been fit and well for your camping trip jpeg, rather u then me rofl 😂

Oh and aswell my last pregnancy I implanted and had a pos test by 3dpo, this time I didn't get my bfp until day 11dpo, so we mustn't have a 'regular' implantation time like we do a luteal phase.

dreamingaboutcheese · 30/09/2016 20:03

Thanks Bec and I'm hoping you're right. I'm not sure when I ovulated as I had a flashing smiley on the stick, did the deed, then it went away the next day. It was straight after a MC so my ovulation could have been all over the place as you say. Right, I'm going to stay positive, stressing isn't going to help either of us and at least there was a heartbeat this time.

dreamingaboutcheese · 30/09/2016 20:07

Oh and re whooping cough, adults have it more than you know I found out... My MIL had it when I was preggers with DD and so I had the jab. Didn't do the flu one. I had no side effects from the WC one and was pleased DD was protected for her early months. Is there a way you could ask your doctor if there are many cases in your area?

doleritedinosaur · 30/09/2016 20:31

Whooping cough has come back because people aren't vaccinating. Same reason why measles hasn't been eradicated like smallpox has.

& what are the sources on whooping cough causing zika? As if that was true there's no way the NHS would be able to continue using the same vaccine if there was any hint of correlation.

Hope you find out soon Dreaming.

Getting so many flips & my bump is getting so big, starting to feel more "real."

XxBecxX · 01/10/2016 04:50

I didn't realise there has been a previous whooping cough vaccine dino, I thought WC was one of those oldy time ailments like rickets that had disappeared due to better life and better health.
My kids have all had each Jab possible as babies so that's reassuring.
I wasn't saying that WC causes zeka lol I was saying that there was some, (all be it vague and probably nonsense info) that the brazilian government where issuing all pregnant woman to have a 'new' jab, what that jab was I've no clue, but apparently it has coincided with the outbreak of the virus, again all just articles that I've read, so with regards to whooping cough I'm just a little uneasy as i thought it was a new jab out and didn't like the idea of being this generations Guinea pig.

Hi all. I've created the new thread before this one runs out this time. Last time it took a little while for everyone to find us again.
Welcome to the newbies.
On the jabs, I have them and I've so far not had anything to worry about afterwards.
Someone said up thread about giving baby immunity in the first few months, I like the idea of protecting as soon as possible too.
Congrats on the great scan news.
I'm not really feeling myself at the moment so staying away until I can pick myself up again.
I'm keeping up with the thread though x
