So nice to read a lot of you are having a more positive time of it. Can't wait to feel like you do pasta!

Off to bed with another headache. Being too much of a wimp to take the co-dydramol.
dino enjoy! I love wotsits at the moment!
I've had the odd nightmare in my previous pregnancies but none yet this time round. One dream I remember from last time was that I gave birth to a baby that had 'Fatboys' face!! Made me think about it as he's on cbb at the moment and it's always in the news.
I do have a question for you all (bit personal so don't worry if you'd rather not answer!)
I noticed when I took my bra off for my shower, my boobs felt quite hard. Abit like when they've filled with milk, but they weren't hurting. Anyway, after I got out the shower, they'd softened again. Partner didn't seem to think they felt any different (any opportunity to have a feel lol). Only my nipples seem sensitive under the shower and not as bad as they were in early pregnancy.... question is, have any of you had this?! I don't have much experience with sore boobs as all my healthy pregnancies never affected my boobs at all. I'm not worried as such, just curious as to why they were like that.

Hi everyone, back to catch up. 27 weeks with single artery, no other markers, growth scan next week but lots of kicks and growing.

purpleviolet1 · 26/08/2016 07:21

So nice to see people in second / third trimesters posting again. Gives us hope!

All being well, I'm. 8+6 today

jpeg28 · 26/08/2016 07:25

Woke up to more spotting today.... Still brown.... And I know I've been saying to others how normal it is... But I'm freaking out again. Just doesn't feel right. Sorry to just post about me..it's lovely to hear how well everyone is doing!

Morning guys, pasta I can't believe your midwife said that to you!
Obviously I'm no midwife but I carried 5 babies in my belly and they have lol been active before 16weeks, obviously not everybody's body is the same, some gals might have real tight stomach muscles and they keep the baby all tucked up so there's reasons you will and won't feel but to say it's unusual that's a bit of a stretch.
Does it feel like little bubbles in your belly?
That's what it generally feels like to start, what you wanna do is wait until the evening when it's quite and get yourself a nice cup of tea or herbal tea whatever's your poison, turn off any distractions and drink your drink and see what happens, the baby should respond to the warmth of the drink!

Flourishing did you mean you have a 2 vessel cord?

JPEG I hate that your feeling that way I'm here for you xxxx

Tinkly poo have you seen the beautiful Spanish knitted outfits with bonnets?
They are sooo beautiful

XxbecquixX · 26/08/2016 08:01

Oh and Lynsey I get that same feeing, the full heavy boob feeling.
Don't know what it is but they just feel slightly muscular and heavy lol
I think it must be a hormonal thing x

BertieBotts · 26/08/2016 08:50

Sorry to join with bad news but I am bleeding more so I think I am out. Boobs have gone down and everything.

Still going to wait until Monday, unless it gets worryingly bad. Monday not a great day for me (I have my driving theory test) but oh well. Can't really be helped!

It's literally the same day it happened last time Hmm Now I'll be super paranoid next time of getting to this point again.

jpeg28 · 26/08/2016 08:52

bertie I'm so sorry... Can you not get to the EPU today to put your mind at ease either way?? Thinking of you Flowers

BertieBotts · 26/08/2016 09:05

It won't make any difference anyway because they won't be able to stop anything from happening so early. I will go on Monday so I can see my normal doctor as she was really nice last time. I expect if I go today I'll just have to have blood taken three times rather than twice!

If everything is fine on Monday then it will be a lovely surprise but I don't expect it to be. But it's fine - I don't believe in the power of positive/negative thinking so I'm not bothered that I'll affect the outcome by assuming the worst. Just one of those annoying/frustrating things.

Plus it means that next time I get pregnant there will be a guaranteed outcome - either a baby or we get referred to have this issue properly investigated. We know what it is but it's not on record so it would be good to get it done properly, though I know they will want to poke around with me first which is a pain.

XxbecquixX · 26/08/2016 09:29

Bertie I'm thinking of you.
I personally would ring the EPU and ask for an appointment for bloods, at least that will give you a better idea of what's going on.
We've seen so many times that bleeding doesn't necessarily mean a negative outcome.
Your body is pretty much an enigma and they still dont always have clear explanations for us as to why some stick and some don't in pregnancy, but if the numbers are moving then that is something to hold onto.
Also as we have no flippin control over these shitty feckin awful things, you may feel some sense of control by at least having the bloods done?
I'm thinking of you, and I'm here for you to talk to xxx

XxbecquixX · 26/08/2016 09:37

Flourishing mrs I wanted to tell you that I had a 2 vessel cord with my daughter and placental bleeds l, the whole shabang! I was pretty alarmed by it all.
I had constant growth scans and she was an absolute whopper born by induction 2 weeks early weighing 8lb10oz.
And to add that she was completed coated in vernix to the point that they estimated she was more likely to be under 37 weeks than 38!
It took a week to get her clean! I've attached a pic of her 6 days old so you can see how much of a fatty she was xx

LynseyH · 26/08/2016 09:46

bertie my fingers are crossed for you this is just a horrid scare. My experience with bleeding wasn't positive but sooooo many ladies tell a much more happy story.

xxbec your little girl is super cute! My biggest was 7lb11oz and I thought he was on the big size lol. I was absolutely huge with him and his birth was by far the most painful, thank god if was only 4 hrs of labour! Youngest was born super quick so hoping to have a home birth this time 😬

OP posts:
XxbecquixX · 26/08/2016 09:55

Lynsey I'll make your 👀 Water. She wasn't my biggest, my 3rd was 2 weeks early and 10lb1 lol
I would of loved a home birth

Kione · 26/08/2016 10:02

Hi all! I wish I had seen this thread earlier, I have been having huge anxiety - I imagine its normal for us but still -. Now I am 23 weeks and I feel movement all the time which is reassuring.
Last Friday I only got 6 kicks tho and i took myself to the midwifes clinic in a right state. I deleted the counting kicks app!
Anyway, nice to see there is a support thread, I felt that my family didn't understand my anxiety at all.

LynseyH · 26/08/2016 10:20

Yikes xxbec. Home birth is more for my fear of giving birth in the car if we don't make it in time! Youngests labour was only 1hr 9 mins and I literally got to hospital with minutes to spare, that was after getting there in an ambulance too. Paramedics were convinced I'd have ages (both men!!) I'd also love to stay home though as I hate being in hospital and waiting to be given the all clear for home.
Welcome kione. This thread is lovely, all the ladies know exactly how the anxiety can affect everything and always here to listen to your concerns. Rant away!

XxbecquixX · 26/08/2016 10:35

Welcome kione, do you know if it's pink or blue yet xx

XxbecquixX · 26/08/2016 11:08

Lol Lynsey if your in Surrey I'll be you in case of a car delivery, emergency midwife lol

XxbecquixX · 26/08/2016 11:11

Oh also kione, it doesn't have to be 10 kicks it can be all movements.
Also if you haven't already, you will kinda know what is normal for your baby, as long as he/she seems to be normal try not to panic luv xxx

LynseyH · 26/08/2016 11:18

Unfortunately I'm living in Birmingham. Partners home town, not mine lol x

OP posts:
LynseyH · 26/08/2016 11:23

No offence to anyone else living here, I just liked my own home town much more as it's quieter.

OP posts:
BertieBotts · 26/08/2016 11:23

Yep but even if I have bloods I won't get an answer until Monday, because it takes 24 hours for them to come back (and that's a single reading which also tells you nothing!) it's not the same system here, we don't have EPU that's open at weekends etc. Just a gynecologist who does mostly routine stuff, hence why they've taken two weeks off.

I am fine, still not 100% sure what is happening, bit down but OK, keeping busy. I would rather wait than be poked and jabbed and prodded for no gain. There's emergency I can go to if it gets dangerous so I'll be alright, I feel more in control this way.

doleritedinosaur · 26/08/2016 11:26

Aw Lynsey you're almost near me.

Bertie I really hope it's not bad news for you but it's good you're thinking of the positives.

I'm actually having a home birth this time providing baby complies. DS was just over a hour after waters broke & an epidural is most likely not to work on me anyway. & I had DS with only gas & air so I know what to do.

Hope everyone else is doing okay today. I'm glad the sunshine is back.

BertieBotts · 26/08/2016 11:29

It keeps stopping and starting, and no great quantities yet, so could be something or nothing. Not really clear.

I will buy some comfort food tomorrow and take it easy over the weekend.
