That's great Bec & you too blossom hope the wait until 12 weeks isn't too long.

Thanks tinkly I had it the same day as my anti D with DS so had an injection in each arm but here I just book my own whooping cough so wasn't sure if I should just do it before anti D. Think I might do it for 26 weeks.

I also had no idea how much moment you feel when you don't have a posterior placenta. So much movement.

jpeg28 · 29/09/2016 16:35

bec that's amazing news!! And blossom glad your scan went well too!

I'm off home early today as feeling exhausted and going camping with 110 12 year olds tomorrow!

MoonlightMojitos · 29/09/2016 16:49

Congrats bec and blossom Bet that was such a relief to see it all going perfectly in there.

Thanks for scan advice ladies, I'll see what the midwife says when I have my booking appointment otherwise will definately be booking one privately just to hopefully reassure us. This is going to be a very slow month as it's still so early, 4 weeks today! I am really struggling with a massive cold and dp wants me to see the Dr but I'm sure there is nothing they can say or do for a cold anyway so I'll just wait it out and see how I feel next week. Just keeping am eye on my temp for now to make sure I don't get a fever.

jpeg28 · 29/09/2016 17:07

moonlight I had a stinking cold when I found out I was pg... then my mum remembered the last time I had a bad cold was when I found out I was pg before (MC) so I'm wondering if something suppresses your immune system as the body is so focused on getting you preggers!! Try to get some rest, I'm sure it will go away!

Longsuffering24 · 29/09/2016 17:25

Come to think of it I did too the first time I was pregnant. It was really bad to the point I got an extra week off work( I never get sick notes normally) I didn't know I was pregnant and so I took a whole host of medicines but it worked out fine in the end so don't worry!

doleritedinosaur · 29/09/2016 17:58

With the cold Moonlight, I had one right at the beginning too & hot lemon & honey really helps if you can stomach it.
Also paracetamol if you're feeling really rough. Hopefully it'll pass for you soon.

Immune system definitely gets suppressed as I don't tend to get ill when non pregnant but with DS I caught every cold & bug under the sun. I really started to hate the people who came to work on their death bed.

purpleviolet1 · 29/09/2016 18:09

Really good news xxbec!

Agree immune takes a bashing during pregnancy.

Can anyone tell me about the type of cramps they had? 13+6 today and had some period type pains which had me convinced I had started bleeding. Luckily I haven't. People talk about stretching pains, do they feel like cramps/period pain?

JOMH1982 · 29/09/2016 19:52

New girl here. A couple of your replied to an anxiety post last week (thank you!) so joining here to share and hopefully support others.

I have a four year old daughter, but since we had her, it's been heartbreak after heartbreak. To keep a long story short, we lost a baby at 7 weeks in 2013, another at 10 weeks in 2014 (took 10 months and two operations to resolve) and the most painful one was at nearly 20 weeks not long before Christmas last year (suspected weak cervix, I can't describe the horror, I feel immensely guilty that I didn't act sooner, never realised such an unspeakable thing could happen). I Had recurrent miscarriage testing, which showed I have a mild clotting disorder, which is treatable with clexane.

After feeling brave enough to try again, and after hubby had his tests and also received treatment, we were lucky to fall pregnant on our first cycle. I am seven weeks today and a scan at an early pregnancy clinic yesterday showed a little shrimp measuring well for dates and with a good heartbeat. I'm managIng ok at the moment, but the longer this pregnancy lasts, the more anxious I know I am going to be. I am going to get cervical length scans at 10 and 12 weeks, and on progesterone twice daily to strengthen the cervix, but I just don't know how I shall cope if we lose this one too. I r I ally didn't cope very well after losing our precious little girl. She looked just like her sister...heartbreaking. I was wondering whether there is anyone in a similar position expecting after a second trimester loss?

Wishing you all the very best of luck. This baby business is so stressful!

Xx

FlourishingMrs · 29/09/2016 20:07

Well done Bec, 32 weeks here, keep smiling

Longsuffering24 · 29/09/2016 20:33

Hi Jo, what a terrible time you've had. I think you're very brave and wish you luck and strength for the coming weeks.

Purple I had cramps throughout my first pregnancy. I wasn't worried at the time as I hadn't miscarried before so just assumed it was normal. They did feel like my tummy was being stretched and I wanted to rub it all the time. There are so many weird aches and pains throughout pregnancy that anything can be normal!

MoonlightMojitos · 29/09/2016 20:39

Good to know I'm not the only one who's come straight down with a cold after a bfp! I have been so worried about it that I went out and bought another 2 pack of cb digis just now Blush crazy poas addict here. Luckily it said 2-3 weeks so it's a real relief that things do seem to be processing as they should. And one left for next week!

Welcome jomh, I'm so sorry about what you've been through it sounds like such an awful journey. Fx this one is it. And it's good that they're prepared to do everything to keep an eye on things this time. I hope you're taking care of yourself at this stressful time.

Whatsername17 · 29/09/2016 21:33

Lovely news bec. Purple I have period pains regularly no bleeding and everything is fine. I think it is stretching? I'm 24 weeks tomorrow. V-day. I feel both relieved and terrified still. Watching 'DIY SOS' didn't help! Tomorrow it is my schools annual charity walk and, despite asking to stay in school to be part of the YR 11 conference, they have put me on marshalling duty. Really not relishing standing in a muddy field for hours on end. Nervous about being far away from the toilet to be honest. Pissed off because I asked specifically if I might do the conference because of my medical issues and it's like my work don't give a shit. Still. V-DAY is a milestone so I need to stop grumbling.

Longsuffering24 · 30/09/2016 08:48

Well I seem to have some symptoms back. I woke up in the night with sore boobs but also have period type aches so not sure what to make of them. In addition my sister has asked to come and stay next weekend and randomly this is exactly what happened last time as I approached week 7. I spent that weekend running around after her and my nephews and then the minute they left I started bleeding. I can't believe the timing is exactly the same this time. I feel reluctant to say yes fearing the worst will happen again. Am I being irrational? Surely visitors can't make any difference to the outcome?

Whatsername17 · 30/09/2016 09:41

I felt like I couldn't wear the dress that I wore when I discovered my mc again. I panicked about the fact that we were having the private scan in the same place that diagnosed my mc, at almost the same gestation (11 weeks). When I was called into the same scan room with the same sonographer I nearly lost it. It was too similar, too eerie, history was repeating itself. Only it wasn't. This time I saw a healthy, wriggly baby. I'm now 24 weeks. It is totally normal to feel how you do but it is just a coincidence and will have no bearing on your pregnancy. Hugs for you though, early pregnancy is horrible. Flowers

XxBecxX · 30/09/2016 09:46

Thank you ladies xxx
Sending strength your way today whatser xxxx
Also I had a sniffly nose at the beginning and a tiny bit of a yukky throat, it's well documented that your immunity lowers so as to help the baby get snuggled in safely.

I've been bombarded with news of having to have tons of jabs too, I'm very nervous of the flu jab and the whooping cough one, don't know why but I'd feel better if they weren't do new and trendy.
I'm rhesus neg too so I've got to have the anti D aswell, do you get the same swollen arm and lump and burning hot feeling in your arm dino? I remember they gave me it once in my mum and oh my days it's was horrendous lol

Welcome Jomh, in so sorry that you've gone thru all that pain, I'm wishing you positive thoughts aswell xxx

dreamingaboutcheese · 30/09/2016 09:47

Hi all. I'm back again hoping for some positive stories. We thought we had lost this one again after a day of bleeding and a negative blood test in EPU but two blood test later showed it was still there and growing.

They scanned me today (should be 6 wks) and it looks like it's too small for where I should be. My last MC was at 4 wks in Aug but the one before that was at 7wks and there was no fetal pole or yolk. Today we had a yolk and a pulse but he couldn't see the fetal cord.

Has anyone had this before and it turned out positive? Should I just start fortifying myself for it to happen again or do you think there's hope?

XxBecxX · 30/09/2016 09:49

Not in my mum my bum rather 😂

And in know what you mean whatser, I wore the same jumper yesterday but there was a diff midwife running the clinic and a different scanner and I was so apprehensive thinking that maybe that those where bad signs!
There should be a mental facility to check us into through the hard times lol

dreamingaboutcheese · 30/09/2016 09:51

longsuffering i completely understand how you're feeling. I guess we know it's a bit irrational but you can't help feeling you want to do everything you can to keep positive. All I would say is that if it's likely to stress you out for whatever reason, then avoid it. The best thing we can do at the moment is stay calm and away from stressful situations. Can you tell her you've got a bug and don't want to pass it on?

XxBecxX · 30/09/2016 09:56

Dreaming I've been pregnant 10 times and given birth to 5 children and hopefully I will give birth again and have this baby be healthy and lovely.
But in all my scans I've never heard of them looking for cord that early, as far as I was aware the baby is attached to the yolk sac and that's how it stays until about 8 weeks when the umbilical cord then kicks in?
That's the body way of keeping the baby safe in those early months while we may not know we are pg.
If they were attached to us from that early on god know's the damage that may be done by not knowing you've conceived.
Obviously I'm no authority that's just from my experience xxx

dreamingaboutcheese · 30/09/2016 10:05

Thanks becs. Wishing you lots of luck and positive thoughts for your bump this time too. I may be wrong (there's so much information to take in!) but I thought the fetal cord was the spine no? I think it's different to the umbilical but I'm not sure.

dreamingaboutcheese · 30/09/2016 10:38

oh i think i misheard them and it's fetal pole not fetal cord that they were referring to...
