XxBecxX · 24/09/2016 18:31

Lynsey get ready we will need a new thread soon lol
I wonder if any of the other groups go through these so quick😂
Come on then ladies spill on the name ideas, I know yous want too really 😜

Whatsername17 · 24/09/2016 18:47

I'd love to but daren't. DH would be devestated if his family found out before we announced! I want to know everyone else's though - I'm nosey!

Lol tinkly I've booked my scan now! Going 28th Oct when I'll be exactly 25 weeks. They said best images are after 25 and I get to that point on the Friday of half term so I can take my boys Smile
Everyone already knows the name we picked: Emilie Anna. I love it. I am now not allowed to have a boy!
xxbec I only started the new thread cos the last one blocked further posts and I wanted to post haha. I'll keep an eye out just incase but try not to step on anyone's toes by doing it!
Welcome newbies, it's a tough time for you but congratulations and keep talking!!

Okay I'll say the first names, we're not finding out gender as the hospital don't tell you & we don't want a private scan this time.

Caspian for a boy.
Aneira for a girl, which is welsh.

Absolutely stuck on middle names. Ariel doesn't go with the girls name and I can't choose any welsh boys names now as I don't like them.

Tinkly and Lindsey they are both gorgeous names. I'm off to look at girls names again.

mrspage1985 · 25/09/2016 06:47

We like Maddison for a girl and Jackson for a boy Smile

XxBecxX · 25/09/2016 07:37

All beautiful choices ladies, especially the uncommon ones, I think it really does give character by having a name by yourself, there's never been others girls with my girls names but the boys have had other kids in class with similar, I'm a stickler tho for using there full names and so they haven't been able to call them Charlie K or Freddie K etc I did have an argument with my daughters teacher tho when she was little, she's named after my husbands mum who's passed and the teacher said that she'd like to shorten her name so it's easier to learn and I said that's understandable but her name is Eileen-Rose, so she's just going to have to learn to write the whole name lol the teacher was very disapproving and tried to tell me that I was being a bit ridiculous, so I said to her, have you spoken to Mohammeds mum? She looked at me and said what about, I said about shortening his name to Mo, you know so it's easy for him to learn to write rofl!! she went red and never mentioned it again.

I watched the first episode of sons of anarchy yesterday, not my usual choice of tv entertainment but went by recomendation and they called a little boy able/Abel? I said to the hubby that's kind of nice, unusual, he just shot me a look lol

DoubleCarrick · 25/09/2016 09:10

I love the names!! So glad I asked.

We are going to go for Cooper for out boy. We call him Cooper when we are chatting and it's really hard to revert back to a pronoun when in company!

Naschkatze · 25/09/2016 09:22

I haven't posted in a while and come back and lots of you are decided on names! Another thing I'm not organised with... Beautiful choices Smile

At the moment my anxiety levels are through the roof and all I can think about is making it through the 20 week scan, two weeks tomorrow! It's not actually helping that I'm feeling baby because whenever I can't, I panic...

Welcome to everyone new, it's a good place to be.

Whatsername17 · 25/09/2016 13:09

Love all of those names! Try not to worry Nasch. I'm the same with movements though! We've been quite lucky with names this time. At the 16 week scan when we found out we were having a girl I asked dh if he was disappointed it wasn't a boy and he said no becsuse at least his favourite name could be 'on the table'. I hadn't considered the name before but it has stuck. I have no desire to trawl through name books like I did with our first dd and I think that's because we've found the name. Just trying to decide on a middle name now.

LuckyinOctober · 25/09/2016 14:08

Also love everyone else's name choices but I'm the same as you Nasch and we haven't settled on ours yet. We've agreed we'd like to meet our little girl first to check her name suits her, until then we'll probably just build up a working shortlist of names we both like.

XBec I chuckled out loud picturing the teacher blushing when you challenged her on name shortening, one of the sticking points for us with names is there's quite a few we don't like the nicknames for so I can see me having similar discussions with people in the future.

My 4D scan is now booked for when I'm 28 going on 29 weeks Grin

Also can I ask if anyone has gone to a wedding as a guest at about 6 months pregnant? Just wondering whether I should be ordering a maternity occasion wear dress (which all seem really pricey for something I might only wear another couple of times over the festive season), or whether I'm likely to get away with just shopping for something a size up from pre-pregnancy in a stretchy fabric? The unknown for me is basically how much my bump is going to grow over the next fortnight (now about 22 weeks with a very definite bump that seems to be having a daily growth spurt, will be 24 weeks at the time of the wedding). As there are no maternity wear stockists locally to me, I'd need to order online soon to make sure it gets here in time if I go with that option, but particularly for dresses I much prefer trying them on as the fit varies so much. Any advice?

DoubleCarrick · 25/09/2016 14:34

I'd think for a wedding you can find something that fits. I wore a size 14 bridesmaid dress for my brothers wedding at 21 weeks and don't even look pregnant in any of the pictures!

Annoyingly though, I don't think the size 14 dress will fit after pregnancy so it was still a waste of money

jpeg28 · 25/09/2016 17:14

I love all the names!! We were on the way back from a friends today and talked names the whole way home! Starting to get some ideas!

I have a wedding when I'll only be 12 weeks (two weeks time!) but I'm worried I won't fit into anything I have! I think if you can avoid buying maternity that's good money wise as you'll wear it once, but at the same time if you find something you feel great and comfortable in then I think that's worth it!

obsessed1 · 25/09/2016 21:20

Thank you for being so welcoming.
I love hearing everyone's name choices. We're expecting a girl and are pretty much set on Clementine, but we also like the name Holly. It's tricky being a teacher as so many names have associations, and not all of them good!! Lol.

obsessed1 · 25/09/2016 21:23

P.s. I had a wedding at 10 weeks and even then it was a squeeze getting into a dress I already owned!
Could you maybe buy a slightly less formal dress that can be accessorised to dress it up, and reuse it for other occasions?

XxBecxX · 26/09/2016 13:42

Afternoon ladies been decorating.
I got an email today from Amazon saying 20% of my first fashion order, might be handy for anyone needing something for a wedding etc as they do maternity on there as well xx

I have been getting some more spotting. Almost every time I go to the toilet. My scan has been brought forward from Friday to tomorrow afternoon. I'll only be 6+4 but I'm so sure it's not going to be good news

MoonlightMojitos · 26/09/2016 18:13

Hello ladies, I am very tentatively dipping my toe here. I'm only 3weeks+4 today so very very early days. I've been having quite intense cramps today so been quite anxious, especially as I tested so early. I can't help worrying something is going to wrong but really trying to stay positive. I had a mc in July at 7w exactly so it's happened very quickly again luckily but it's still very fresh in my memory. Here's hoping for a sticky bean :). I feel like my poas addiction is going to be pretty bad for next few weeks! Here's today's!

xxbec that's lovely of you to share with everyone. Hope the wedding goers can make good use!

something very best of luck for tomorrow, I hope you get good news Flowers

moonlight welcome to the thread and congratulations. Cramping can be totally normal early on, your body is preparing for a big journey! Unless it's unbearable and/or accompanied with bleeding, don't panic. This is a very anxious time but this thread is full of great ladies for support Smile

Welcome moonlight! Congrats!

something hope scan goes well... spotting does not necessarily have to be bad news, although I know how worrying it must be!

When did people start buying maternity clothes? I'm only 10+4 and my trousers are so tight!!!

Naschkatze · 26/09/2016 18:58

Lovely wise mumsnetters,

How concerned would you be in this situation:

Am 18+3. I have been feeling regular ish movements for the last week or so, occasional obvious kicks and other flutters/bubble type movements. Yesterday and today have felt less so as soon as I got home from work I put on the Angel sounds Doppler. I can hear movements through it and found the heartbeat but it is much fainter/further away than normal. Any advice? What would you do? Can't decide if ringing maternity assessment is a complete over reaction as they say movements are not regular this early anyway and they're not keen on the at home dopplers as it is!
Help?!

Whatsername17 · 26/09/2016 19:11

Totally normal at 18 weeks, Nasch. I had exactly the same. 23 +3 now and movements are much more regular. X

XxBecxX · 26/09/2016 20:15

Not to be stepping on toes but if your worried Nash then your worried, my last baby was over 4 years ago so I can't remember when I was more in touch with a pattern so to speak but I would say that a hours trip to the MAU for a hook up to the monitor is not a bad idea at all, especially as we are all scary Mary's when it comes to worrying!

Welcome to the newly preggers, I'm wishing you good luck this time and good luck for the scan tomorrow xxx

LynseyH · 26/09/2016 20:37

nasch I mentioned more or less the same thing a few weeks ago. I found that the heartbeat sounded faint/far away but could hear the placenta noise and found that giving it awhile then listening again later could help.
I wasn't sure if the placenta could move around at that point.
It was all ok though :-)
