Thats great Greedy, Really Really Super pleased for you- have been worrying about you and your bean for a while now.

And congrats to Kitkat on your boy and pinkbutterfly on your girl! Lovely .
Now you can really start thinking of names! Yippee!

I'm not sure whether i want to know the sex this time... I knew with DS but didnt with DD...and TBH it was rather fantastic when she popped out and it was "Wow- a girl!" Mind you the temptation is so great to find out the sex- especially if the scan person says- "I can see the sex... would you like to know!!!!!" Daresay we will crumble and find out! Wanted to with DD but she had her legs crossed! Sorry for the ramble!

fettle · 19/02/2007 12:25

Greedy ? yeah!!!! Fantastic news!!!! Did they find any reason for the bleeding? Hopefully you?ll be able to relax and enjoy your holiday next week ? really envious of that!!!

Great news on the other scans ? boys and girls ? not sure if we are going to find out ? just want a healthy baby at the moment!! But I so love having a DD, I?m not sure what having a DS will be like and find that pretty scary, so maybe I should find out so I have time to prepare!!

Anyway, must get back to work ? just checked in for Greedy news!

Take care all
X

Chooster · 19/02/2007 12:38

Fantastic wonderful news Greedy!!!!!!!! Hopefully you can relax a wee bit now and enjoy your holiday (where are you off to?) Am so so so pleased for you.

Ah, a little girl for PinkB - At least we've got a nice gender balance so far on this thread. If I am able to find out on Wednesday then I'll be ecstatic whether a boy or a girl. I'd be quite curious to know what it would be like to have a daughter (this will be our last baby) but will be equally thrilled to be having a boy again.

Yes, I finally told work!! Hooorrrray. It almost got to the end of the meeting and my boss said. "So, how are things with you" - he never normally asks personal questions so I knew this was my cue. He was great about it and did say that he had wandered . Anyway, its all done now... Phew...

KitKat30 · 19/02/2007 12:46

thanks everyone!!!
pinkb - a little girl, how cute!

well done for FINALLY telling them at work chooster! about bloody time girl!

i know what you mean fettle about already having a dd and not knowing what to do with a ds! i had my ds first, and i couldn't imagine having a girl, but on the otherhand i couldn't imagine having a boy that wasn't my ds1 IYKWIM!!! now as i have one of each, i am finding it really hard to imagine having another boy or another girl! i kind of assume all boys that i produce will be like ds and all girls will be like dd! cant get my head round it at all!...........................lets just hope its a baby giraffe to save all the problems. (that is what my ds said he would like me to have next!!!!!)

greedyforbabies · 19/02/2007 14:27

firststar .......6lbs! i have gained more than that already!!! well done you! after my 2 weeks in St. Lucia (can't wait!!!!!) i will probably have gained another 7lbs!

Hello ladies, been busy had a party on Sat night for 40 people. I was EXHAUSTED getting ready for it but managed to have a couple of hours sleep before everyone arrived which was just as well as I didn?t get to bed until 3am. Two of my friends are pregnant, both with their 2nd babies, one is 22 weeks and the other 9 weeks and they both have bumps ? I was dying to tell them my news but just cannot until I know things look ok. I was quite envious of their bumps and felt most inadequate which prompted me to test again yesterday! Roll on my scan on Friday!

PinkB & KitKat ? how exciting knowing your flavours!

Greedy ? so pleased for you that all is ok, really I am

Hello to everyone else too. Chooster ? is the deed done?

I?m feeling crap today ? sore head again, too hot, feel queasy and tired (even though I slept for 12 hours last night ? slept in and got to work an hour late ). I?ve been getting paranoid that my symptoms are decreasing because my boobs don?t seem as sore but maybe I?ve just got used to them feeling like this. I have a really heightened sense of smell at the mo, it feels like I can smell people?s breath a foot away, it?s not nice.

DH is desperate to tell people, I?m trying to make him hold off but if things are ok on Friday I might not win the argument to wait until the private scan on 16/3. Hope I do, even at that point I?ll only be 11 weeks and I?d rather hit the 12 week mark at least.

Thanks Firststar funny how you get used the way you are feeling and forget that it is different from before!

pinkranger · 19/02/2007 18:18

Hi all - busy here today

Greedy - - so pleased for you hun , that feeling when you see the little heart going is truly amazing xxx

Mrs - sound like you had a hetic weekend, you need to rest , it does get a little easier as time goes on

Well my scan was great , my downs risk was very low ( 1 in 17,000) and they even down some 4D images for us which was just amazing at this stage!
thats it now i have no more scan until 22 weeks, not sure how i will cope!!!

Hope that everyone is well xx

conkertree · 20/02/2007 08:59

Pinkranger - i was thinking that too about scans - last one was at 12 weeks and next one not till nearly 21 (in 4 weeks time) - it seems sooo long in between them. come to think of it - 9 months is really a very long time .

felt some initial flutters at the end of last week so cant wait now to feel it move properly, and when DH can feel it - he cant wait too.

Really pleased about the scan Greedy - and that sense of smell thing is a nightmare MrsMcJ - I couldnt go into the kitchen for days at a time, and DH had to sleep facing away from me cause i couldnt stand being breathed on at night.

Hello to everyone else and hope everyone is having a good week. I'm off with DH and my sister and her lot to Crieff Hydro for a few days at the end of the week - not as glamorous as some people's breaks but should be relaxing all the same.

MrsMcJnr · 20/02/2007 09:15

More spotting again today I?m so fed up with this just when I start to relax, it happens again. I am trying to tell myself that it happens, that the lack of pain is a good thing and the fact that I am shattered and emotional are all good signs but I am finding the whole ?secret life? of early pregnancy hard today. I actually have quite a lot of work to do and no inclination whatsoever to do it. Roll on Friday and the scan, I really hope it can give DH and I some comfort.

Pinkranger ? your scan sounded amazing and that?s great about the Downs risk being so low, what a relief for you, something else not to worry about Up here you only get one scan, the dating scan at 12-14 weeks, it?s not even a nuchal! Could you see your baby?s face on the 4D ? incredible!

Conkertree ? how exciting about the flutters!! the smell thing last night I was at the top of the hill to the train station and could smell the cornish pastie shop at the bottom ? I was actually salivating but then I got nearer and could smell pavement pizza ? uggh and that put me off the pastie!! I was at Crieff Hydro a couple of weeks ago for a hen, are you in the hydro itself or the lodges? Have fun, hopefully the weather will be good and you?ll be able to have some nice walks. Are you Scotland based?

honeyapple · 20/02/2007 09:39

Morning-

scans are great- but they are a relatively new invention! My mum certainly never had one with her PGs. It's lovely to see your baby on the screen, but the most important thing is to actually feel the baby moving about. I didnt have any scans when PG with my DS because I was backpacking in Australia and didnt come back to the UK till about 6.5 mths PG. I did have a scan at about 7 mths though! My GP was great- he said most women across the world do not have scans, give birth at home/ in jungles/ on mountains!
So what i mean to say is.... dont worry if you only have one scan! Or two! Or none!
