don't be silly, thats what we're here for!

tell dh, and then tell him you need a big cuddle.

go and see your gp or mw if it will reasure you, thats what they are there for.

i'm thinking of you x x

fettle · 13/02/2007 19:48

Greedy!! So sorry to hear about the bleeding - it might still be ok, you are still in the implantation time. I've had cramps on and off, quite severe ones at time, so I'm hoping that that is ok. Ring your doctor or EPU, best to get a scan sooner than monday - you must be about the same as I was when I had scan last week and saw a heartbeat, so give it a go!!

Have to go now, but I'll be back later.

big hug

xx

Greedy sending you a {{{{{{{{{{big hug}}}}}}}}}} fingers crossed, thinking of you! Babymadxx

greedyforbabies · 13/02/2007 20:16

fettle - how long does implantaion time go on then? does anyone know anything about pregnancy cycts? i have one apparently and i am hoping this is the cause of the bleeding..............oh..........i just dont know......and i am sick of thinking about it..........

Chooster · 13/02/2007 20:19

Oh Greedy - Am so sorry to hear you sounding so stressed about the new blood. I'm not surprised you are pissed off - I bet you just really want to relax into this pregnancy. As has been said already it happens so often and things looked good at the last scan... We'll all be keeping everything crossed for you.

Is there any chance you could get to an EPU and ask them to scan you again.

Chooster · 13/02/2007 20:27

I had a quick look at pregnancy cysts in the internet and it says they can cause mild abdominal pain and bleeding. Hopefully you'll get some answers soon... xxxx

Bodkin · 13/02/2007 23:03

Greedy - sorry to hear about the bleeding. That looks reassuring what Chooster found out though, it could be the cyst that is causing the cramps and bleeding. Feel free to rant to us any time you like, it is hard when your brain keeps going round in circles and driving you nuts!

So many posts that I can't remember what everyone has said, but MrsMcJ, did you know that if as you and DH both have blue eyes, then your offspring will also have blue eyes, but if you both had brown eyes, your offspring could have either blue or brown. It is because blue is a recessive gene. Won't be able to explain it very well, but I'm pretty sure I'm right about that. Someone will probably come along now and tell me I'm talking cobblers...

Firsty, doesn't sound like your appointment today went too well, sorry to hear that. Lets hope you get some better answers with the consultant.

Have had pounding headach all day, so looking forward to a bit of kip tonight in the hope that will shift it. Otherwise feeling fine.

Night all xxx

I?m in a right state this morning, I woke up to some brown spotting and the panic has made me feel really sick and my headache has been execerbated. I am trying to remember all of you who have had spotting and been ok but all I can recall at the moment are the ones that have ended badly. Do you think I should sit tight and see what happens (I?m at work) or go home and rest and call my GP? I know I am being a drama queen but I just can?t bear the idea of losing my baby

MrsMcJnr · 14/02/2007 09:03

Greedy ? I am so sorry for being so selfish, I just jumped on and posted without reading anything as I needed you all to comfort me . I am sorry to hear about the bleeding, I really am, you must be so scared, I hope it is just one of those things that seems to be happening with this pregnancy of yours and that everything will be ok. Of course it?s not your fault for making MW appointment (though that is how I feel about the scan appointment I made yesterday). Sending you huge hugs.

Hey Babymad ? that?s great news , yes, CAT it to me!!

Bodkin ? interesting about the eyes, I didn?t know that! Hope the headache is better, mine just won?t go away.

Chooster - thank you so much for your texts this morning, I am sure the mornings are really busy for you getting DS ready too and I really appreciated you making time for me x

KitKat30 · 14/02/2007 09:13

Oh Greedy I'm so sorry about the bleeding - when's your next scan? If you havent got one booked can you go to your nearest EPU? They should be able to scan you the same day?

MrsMcJ - I think brown blood is old blood and nothing to worry about. I had a mixture of brown and red spotting at 8 weeks and my scan showed a healthy little bean.

Try not to worry too much both of you - easier said than done I know. Would be worth going to the docs/epu for some peace of mind?

Hope everyone else is OK this morning?

MrsMc & greedy ? Big hugs!! I would phone and get earlier appointments at the EPU, although Mrs, you might still be a bit early to see a heartbeat, tends to only be obvious later in wk 6. Baby goes from 1mm to 6 mm during wk 6, so if you are early in the week, it is hard to see (so my sonographer told me last week).

I had brown spotting with DD when just under 6 weeks, that turned to red bleeding that night ? absolutely terrified. Had a scan the next day where they could see a baby, but no heart beat ? came back 1 week later and there was a little heart beat. It is impossible to tell at this stage if it will be ok, but I think more times than not, bleeding is not necessily a bad sign.

I would go home ? you won?t concentrate on anything otherwise.

Look after yourself. X

Greedy ?have you made an appointment too?

I could go into details about eye colour and how you get them, but don?t feel this is a suitable time ? remind me later and I?ll tell you this evening.

Take care all
x

MrsMcJnr · 14/02/2007 09:48

Thanks Fettle and KitKat for your kind words and reassurance. I have spoken to the MW (though not had an appointment with her yet) as my GP is on holiday. She initially told me that she thinks it's too early for scan results to be meaningful (i'm 6+3) so she told me to go in for benchmarking blood tests tomorrow and then I go to the EPU at the weekend for another test to see if the levels are rising but she has since called me back and said that on advice from the EPU, they have said not to do the blood tests because they can cause too much anxiety and instead they have booked me in for a scan next Friday morning (when i'll be 7+5) and I am to contact them in the meantime if I have bleeding or pain. MW did say bleeding is common in early pregnancy but it needs to be checked out. It's just a waiting game isn't it. MW did seem really nice and pro-active.

PinkButterfly · 14/02/2007 09:52

Hello all. Haven't managed on for ages and haven't managed to read through whole thread but just wanted to say to MrsMcJ and Greedy that I'm thinking of you both. I know bleeding of any kind is terrifying but it seems to be so common and doesn't always mean the worst. MrsMcJ - I would go home and rest up for today and see what happens - if you phone your gp they will probably tell you to do that. [[[hugs]]] xxx

PinkButterfly · 14/02/2007 09:55

X-posts MrsMcJ - that's good they have you booked in for scan. I know it will seem like a lifetime away but try and stay as calm and relaxed as you can meantime (I know though from experience that it's easy to say but v difficult to do but do your best to rest up and take care). hugs]] xxxx

Hi greedy and Mrs - just have to say the same as firststar, i also had bleeding at 6 +2 , mine was BRIGHT red and i thought straight away " game over" but all was fine and they saw no reason for it ( midwife also said implantation) - I am now 13 weeks today.

Sending you both cyber Hugs (((((((((xxxxxxxxx))))))))))))

MrsMcJnr · 14/02/2007 10:20

Hey Pinky lovely to hear from you, how are you? You are right, it doesn?t mean the worst and it is scary as hell. MW said that resting will make no difference so think I?ll stay here and keep my head down and just see how things go, it?s a lovely sunny day so I?m hoping that?s a good sign. Not the best Valentines Day so far!

Hello Firsty ? how?s your back doing? I know what your DH means, it?s funny how supersitious you can get isn?t it! So hope my story goes like yours.

Thank you both for your reassurance

Chooster · 14/02/2007 10:59

Hi, There have been some good re-assuring posts on here this morning which have hopefully helped Greedy and MrsMc. Mrs - Sorry if my texts this morning weren't very helpful! When I thought back to what I'd written I thought 'oooh, that probably didn't sound right'. What I meant was try not to worry, there are plenty of cases where bleeding doesn't mean anything bad.

Greedy - are you around? Let us know you are OK when you get a chance.

PinkButterfly · 14/02/2007 11:05

Hey MrsMcJ - I'm just fine. Not getting on MN that often at moment but will keep an eye on how you are doing when I can. Take care. xx

Mrs Jnr - First of all congrats on your wonderful and exciting news.

I wanted to share with you that I had light spotting when 4 weeks pregnant. The same day I went to GP who referred me to EPU for an early scan the next morning. On the scan all they could see was a yolk sac and very very small fetal pole and the scan result was inconclusive. I was told to go back in two weeks which was agonising. I did however that day have an internal and they said cervix was closed which was a good sign.

I went for scan at 6 weeks and there was my little one, very very small at only 1.4cm. There was a fluttering heart beat.

I have since had my 12 week scan and everything fine but they have put me a week forward (so 13 weeks) which would mean the second scan I had I was 7 weeks.

I hope the above has reassured you. I totally understand how worried and anxious you are and how you cannot concentrate on anything else. I really do sympathise with you. The only thing I did do differently, was drink loads and loads of water and rested (I had a week off work as holiday booked anyway).

The spotting I had still lasted for a few days on and off after the second scan so please try and not to worry.

I would also say that the worrying never stops. I am still totally a nervous wreck and knicker checking even after 12 weeks. I am now worried that I am not showing yet or that every twinge is a bad sign. I look to the worst for everything and its not a good thing really. So I say lets not worry together! xx

Keep us updated

xxx

My last message is for Greedy too. Thinking of you. xx
