We've got through a whole thread! Hope it's ok that I took the liberty of starting a new one.

Newbies, if you've had fertility treatment and found that it actually worked, this is the thread for you! We're a supportive group of women battling everything from scanxiety to unexplained bleeding, and we generally can't believe this is really happening for us!

First thread is here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2584015-Pregnancy-after-infertility

Snyder no experience but I've heard a pillow between the legs helps?

Blondes - I'm 16w2 and am finding that I'm able to get away with only one anti nausea tablet most days. I'm sure it just that you're over the worst. Xx

stealthbanana · 09/10/2016 09:19

Really pleased to hear it friend. Hope the anxiety has at least temporarily passed.

lucie I love my baths, and started having them a week after transfer. They become too hot when start feeling hot so you can go hotter than lukewarm but not so hot you start to feel sweaty. And take some water with you and stay dehydrated. My doctor gave me A Look when I asked about them being safe and said that of course they were! So that reassured me. I have a bath almost every day now.

Hips - massage, pillow between legs and lots of squats and lunges to stabilise the muscles around! Buy a massage ball (Google spikey ball) or a foam roller, they both help. I was at a wedding last night and hit the dance floor in a serious way, and in heels - am paying the price today! Ouch!

Snyder???? I meant smurfy!

Stealth impressed by your heel wearing, especially while dancing!

lotsoffreckles · 09/10/2016 11:08

I've suffered from restless legs for years Angry

Lots of stretches before bed and a pillow in between!

I wore heels last weekend, still recovering now Grin I really struggled ha!

Off to meet a friend and her 6 week bub, can't wait to just enjoy it rather than wish is was me xx

Hi there, is making me feel SO much better to realise I am not alone with worries around jinxing things. I feel like that too. My mum and dad have been here this weekend and they know about the pregnancy. We have been talking about maternity leave and money (I have terrible mat leave as work for a charity) and I feel like I have jinxed it looking that far ahead!

Also worry all the time about symptoms or lack of them, when they disappear I worry, when they appear I worry! It is such hard work! For example I had bad cramps at the beginning of last week but now nothing. Was worried when I had them because they felt like AF, now they are gone I am worried too!

Lotsoffreckles I hear you on the new baby front. A member of DH's family has just had a new baby and I avoided the visit last week as I just couldn't face it. I think once you have been through infertility those feelings of jealousy/sadness don't just disappear.

Friends, so glad your scan went well!

Thanks everyone for the advice on the baths! Definitely going to indulge next weekend.

I meant to ask do I need a full bladder for my scan on Wednesday?

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/10/2016 20:38

Empty bladder dildo can

Full over tummy

That's what I was told

lucieloos · 09/10/2016 20:41

Ah great thanks blonde that makes sense. I don't know which it will be they haven't told me anything about it but I'm assuming internal at 7w5d?

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/10/2016 20:49

Yes internal till 12w

lucieloos · 09/10/2016 20:59

I'm having one at 10 weeks too and they've already said that will be external but it's private and not nhs so maybe it's different.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/10/2016 21:03

Maybe varies area to area

Had 6&7w private and 10&12w nhs

Only last one was external /over tummy

stealthbanana · 09/10/2016 21:55

My 10w scan was external lucie

7w definitely internal

Ok brill thank you!

friends123 · 09/10/2016 22:21

At my 6 weeks, they tried external first. The 8 week one was external too. I was told to go with a full bladder both times.

GenghisKahnSchmitz · 10/10/2016 03:20

Wonderful news Friends! I'm so pleased the scan went well.

Lucie good luck on Wednesday. At my 6 week appointment I had both an external and an internal. You're going to really enjoy that bath next weekend :)

Sammy great that you've been able to cut down on your pills, and Blondes hopefully it means that the sickness is starting to end.

Stealth good luck on Tuesday, and I hope the GTT results go well. I also get the 4d scans at every appointment, and you're right, they're amazing. I used to think they were a bit strange but I guess when it's your baby it's different.

I had my 16 week appointment/scan this morning and all was well. We're having a boy!! We got talking about prenatal testing and ended up agreeing to have the NIPT done. I'm not sure how my anxiety levels will cope but I should be used to the stress by now.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

loopylou1984 · 10/10/2016 06:56

Genghis!!! Congratulations on your boy! We will hopefully find out what ours are later today. Scanxiety up now though as it's been more than 3 weeks since the last scan!

Lucie my 7 week NHS was internal but my 10 week private scan was external. Had to have a full bladder for that and my 12 week NHS one. Xx

lotsoffreckles · 10/10/2016 07:44

Genghis congratulations on you're baby boy.Smile

We are not going to find out, DH already has 2 DD's who are desperate to know if they have a DS or DB but we are holding firm Grin

All my scans till 12 weeks were internal too Lucy, was always asked to go in with a full bladder although at my previous clinic this wasn't the case so maybe worth checking this morning with you're clinic as they all seem to be different xx

I've reported the above post...though I really wish I'd known about it before paying for fertility treatment - if only I knew that all I needed was voodoo Wink

Thanks Sammy and Freckles! Sammy, good luck later on, and Freckles, I'm impressed with your strength in not finding out.

lucieloos · 10/10/2016 08:53

Amazing news Ghengis!!

Sammy, good luck with the scan today, can't wait to find out what you're having.

Freckles, thanks lovely, I checked with someone else at the same clinic and they have confirmed that the 7 week one will be internal. I already know the 10 week one is going to be external so think I'm all sorted now.

Feeling very queasy this morning.

lucieloos · 10/10/2016 09:06

Oh another question how many scans do you get on the NHS when you enter the system normally? Is it one around 12 weeks and then another at 20 and that's it?

loopylou1984 · 10/10/2016 12:28

I think it is 12 and 20 normally Lucie.

So had the scan, she said she couldn't say for sure but she thinks it's girls. I guess we'll find out for definite at our 18 week scan. I'm so happy that they're healthy, and that's the main thing. But a little disappointed that we don't know for certain what we're having.
We'd both convinced ourselves it was boys! Lol.

lucieloos · 10/10/2016 12:31

Thanks Sammy, that's great news that your scan went well. Girls would be lovely, I would love a girl. How long until your 18 week scan?

Grumpelstiltskin · 10/10/2016 12:34

How exciting, genghis, another thread boy! Congratulations.

Shame you couldn't find out for sure, Sammy, but at least you get a few more goes at the next scans!

Lucie, NHS scans are around 12 and 20 weeks only as standard but some may also get a cheeky extra scan at the 16wk midwife/consultant appointment too- I only got to hear the heartbeat with Doppler personally, though that was still cool.

Great news on the positive scan and healthy heartbeat, freckles! So pleased for you. We're another lot not finding out the sex, though so far every single person has guessed boy- statistically on this thread at least that seems likely Grin
