Hi everyone, just got thyroid test results back as normal so will continue on my same dosage for the moment, I'm almost ten weeks and have scan on 12th September and consultant app on 16th September. I'm so bloated at the moment it's awful, but actually feeling okay and not too much nausea but I'm so tired most of the time! Sorry to hear of the HG it sounds awful. I'm also midway through selling our house and buying another so that is adding another level of stress to everything... On a happier note I found some non alcholic cider which tastes amazing!!! Hope everyone is doing well!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/08/2016 19:47

Glad tests back ok cheese

Compared to some stories I've heard I don't have severe hg (thank god) gp said I sounded middle of spectrum and keep an eye on it/me and getting dehydrated

I'm def better then was but still sick a bit but I can live with that. The medics yuk does shatter me tho , plus ivf drugs so really do feel tired so mainly stay in bed all morning - thankfully I work nights

If I feel hungry I feel very sick and queasy so better off eating every 2hrs gonna be huge at the end of this :( tho have lost weight being sick :(

Rivitta or crackerbread is a quick easy snack

Hello all! Welcome MsBear, Floozie and Bluebird ~waves~

Feeling worse in this heat but just managed my first "evening" out (home by 7!Grin). So that feels an achievement. Not sure if pills working less well or just being busier at work has hit me for 6. Heat probably doesn't help either...

I've been told I will be induced before 40 weeks too but will discuss the details with consultant at 16 weeks. Interesting it varies by Trust!

Beckjennick · 28/08/2016 17:02

40, pregnant, had 2 miscarriage previously, 3rd child, moving house all = very tired and nauseous. Could be twins as I look about 20 weeks when I am 10. Partner also away on work. Just feeling so overwhelmed!

teabagsmummy · 28/08/2016 18:12

Hi feeling a lot better now I'm signed off. Must be the lack of sleep that makes me worse. Haven't been sick since over a week now so fingers crossed.
I don't Seem to have a 16 week midwives appointment they said it's because I saw the consultant last week, in booked in for whooping cough vaccine next Thursday hope there's no side effects

MsBear44 · 29/08/2016 13:35

Hi Blondeshavemore fun, yes its with the midwife at our local hospital :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2016 13:46

I had mine fri. Yep. Tons of questions about general health

as well as all infertility stuff

Safe guarding with siblings if any /older step children

As I've had a dvt there's a risk I may have another so keep an eye on me X

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2016 13:48

Dutch1976 · 29/08/2016 22:14

Hi everyone I'm 40 years old and me & my partner have been trying for out first child for quite a few months now with no success. Has anyone else got any advice on where we are going wrong. I know that we may have left it a bit late to try for a family but we are desperate for kids.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2016 22:23

Have you had amh tests?

Has partner has sperm test

Do you use ovulation Kits

Dutch1976 · 29/08/2016 22:59

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/08/2016 08:02

Sickness and retching bile is back tho mildly compared to before. Off to bed. But glad seems bubs is ok

Hope ST goes well

Dutch1976 · 30/08/2016 09:48

My partner is going to the doctors on Friday for a ST. Thanks Blondeshavemorefun. I hope so. We're both hoping everything is OK.

LightTripper · 30/08/2016 12:22

Hello Blondes - sorry the sickness is back. I guess it is reassuring at least? But still miserable. Still, at least now you know you can have good/better days, so hopefully the drugs are doing a good job.

Just had our NHS scan. It was veeeerrrryyy long. All was good except for a single umbilical artery (SUA). The headline figures are a bit worrying as 75% of babies are fine but 25% have problems: but often the problems are things like Downs (which we already have a very low risk of from the NIPT test, and low nuchal translucency), or missing kidneys (whereas they saw two on the scan) or heart problems (whereas they thought the heart looked good), so we're hoping that gives us a much better than 75% chance of being on the good side of that equation! Apparently it is more common in older mothers so just one more joy of being an older mum. It may mean some growth problems, so it could mean more scans later if they see the same at 20 weeks or maybe even an early induction - we'll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, so far I am feeling remarkably fine about it. Hope that remains the case...

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/08/2016 15:20

Sua sounds scary tho also sounds you have good odds as of the things you have seen

I can live with odd puke and retching. Tho that's the thing that gets to you. Not the sick

The retching and heaving

Remind me not to moan when I'm feeling ok next time 😂

LightTripper · 30/08/2016 15:24

LOL I know I'm just the same though. The next month is probably the worst and then even if the sickness doesn't get any better at least you have all the scary scans behind you and you know the end is hopefully in sight on the sickness (plus you just get in practice dealing with it I think).

Although I feel I have been sick for ever I actually am sure I'm better now (nearly 14 weeks) than a few weeks ago. I used to not be able to walk to the sandwich shop without lots of heavy breathing, pausing, wondering if I was going to vom in a bag, etc. whereas now as long as I go in good time I am pretty guaranteed a clear trip there and back and no heavy breathing. So I have to remind myself it is getting better, just veeerrrry veeeerrry sloooowwwwllyyyy.....

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/08/2016 17:33

So a few more weeks and might be ok ish ......

Floozie66 · 30/08/2016 22:30

anyone had the combined test yet, my results came back as low risk for downs 1/600 and 1/5000 for the others. However for my age the risk would have been 1/30 for downs without the NT / bloodtest. I know this is all classed as low risk but i have seen others with much much lower results ie 1/10000 for downs, just wondering if you ladies over 40 will be doing the NIPT / harmony tests as well as the NHS standard ones just to be doubly sure

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/08/2016 07:27

Mw asked me if I wanted the test. I said yes. We want this baby whatever but know coz of my age 43 that risks are higher. If results come back high we won't have the extra downs test as risk of mc tho just means we are prepared that maybe baby has downs

LightTripper · 31/08/2016 21:38

We went straight to NIPT (we had the SAFE) as I didn't want to have to get a high score then decide. Those seem really good compared with your age-baseline though. How do you feel about it? What does your OH think?

LightTripper · 31/08/2016 21:39

A high risk score that is!

scottishsmiler · 31/08/2016 22:14

I'd like to introduce myself, I'm now 25+5 in my first pregnancy, conceived naturally, at the ripe age of 45. All is going great so far- scan looked good, tests came back low risk, baby is super active.
I'm rather terrified about all the forthcoming changes however and I don't know any other pregnant women yet. Any advice gratefully received. Smile

LightTripper · 01/09/2016 07:52

Hello Scottishsmiler! Welcome to the thread. Great that everything is going so well.

Are you planning to do NCT or anything similar? I found it a great way to meet other pregnant women in my area, and in the end although a lot of them were a bit older (at least late 30s and a couple early 40s), actually one of my best friends from it is only early 30s, so even if they aren't your own age you could make some good friends that way if you are lucky, and at worst some nice acquaintances to swap notes with!

MsBear44 · 01/09/2016 09:01

Hello Scottishsmiler!

I'm 44 and nearly 7 weeks, also conceived naturally. I do have 3 grown up children though, between 17-20!!

thereisnocheese · 01/09/2016 11:56

Ooh yes do NCT. I found very helpful to have a network of people who were at exactly the same stage as I was. We are all still chums and share advice/experience.
