Ooh I'm not experiencing sore boobs yet but they feel bigger and I'm so bloated I look about half way through I reckon. Lots of artfully draped scarves are being worn at work. Tired yes. Nausea not yet. But sure all to come soon. Had my booking in appointment and bloods done and asked for thyroid test to be done too.

thereisnocheese · 03/08/2016 08:28

So I need to wait for the results. I don't feel pregnant yet that sounds weird but I'm still coming to terms with it all I think. Happened very quickly so wasn't expecting to be expecting quite so soon! Hopefully will all be good. The midwife I spoke to talked a bit about various screening tests and that risks go up after 40. Also its likely I will be under consultant care as age and failure to go into labour last time. My little girl was 4.7kg at birth so was delivered by section. So possible I'd go that way again. Hope everyone is doing well!

Womble75 · 03/08/2016 13:02

I'm fully expecting to go under consultant care this time. Was referred last time but mc at 12 weeks. My last delivery was induction and a total traumatic nightmare combined with a bad pph which I don't want to repeat. Still get flashbacks 3 1/2 years later. I'm thinking about pushing for ELCS if I can.
Told mum yesterday as she kind of guessed something was up but telling no one else until at least after anomaly scan.
It's a shame that this time around I won't be as relaxed about this pregnancy and enjoy it as much due to the mc's. Maybe in time I will but at the moment I'm excited but hugely apprehensive. Funny I was waiting for my period to come as the gp was putting me I the pill short term to help with my iron levels as they are hideously heavy, and bang! Lol. The first time we decided not to try and there we go!

Beegee3 · 03/08/2016 18:33

So I had my home visit from the midwife today ( I am 5 +4 ) it turns out that it was my full booking in appointment. So all blood taken, wee sample, BP and carbon monoxide measurement etc. BP is on the high end of normal apparently. I blubbered at her almost immediately when she asked me how I am feeling. I will be consultant led as I am an older mum, which she just said is silly as it's what society puts on us - nice. X

thereisnocheese · 03/08/2016 22:52

Oh Womble I have all crossed for you. Hopefully you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy soon. Xx

Rugby01 · 04/08/2016 07:19

Hello beegee and mrsknickers - I laughed at your boob job references! I also look like that. Did the first time ever! I'm liking that part!

I'm 23 weeks tomorrow - can't believe it! Really looking fat and feeling pregnant now. I hope the nausea passes for you both soon. It disappeared for me about 10 weeks.

Good luck with booking in appt beegee! Hope you are well apart from the nausea.

Beegee3 · 04/08/2016 08:39

Hi rugby wow 23 weeks! I am sure that you are 'blooming' lovely ☺. Booking in ended up being yesterday (see prev post). I think my mouse a had gone with my other children at 14 weeks. cheese you beat me then, my second son was 4.1kg x

Beegee3 · 04/08/2016 08:40

I think my mouse a had gone?? That should be I think my nausea had gone! X

teabagsmummy · 07/08/2016 10:50

Hi all not been on for a while still feeling awful 13+3 now. Had scan on Tuesday everything looks good nuchel measurements 1.6 just waiting for blood results .
Found out I'm consult led meeting with her on 18th August. And also I get 2 extra scans later on

Rugby01 · 07/08/2016 13:03

Hi everyone. How is everbody? teabags - glad the scan went ok- hope the wait for the blood tests is ok and you can relax.

beegee - hope you're ok and the nausea is not too bad. At least you have an idea of when it will go from previous experience!

We are in the middle of trying to move house and my OH has just gone away on a work trip for a week and he has been unwell - I am hoping the time for putting feet up and getting him to do everything I'd just around the corner!! Hmm

Womble75 · 08/08/2016 10:28

Well had my scan this morning. All good so far - so relieved.didn't sleep a wink last night. Even saw a heartbeat which was fantastic. EDD 03.03.17 so 6+3 and measured .63cm. Must admit I burst into tears but just relief I guess. Everything looked normal and I have my booking in appt next week so fingers crossed it continues well. How is everyone else getting on?

Rugby01 · 08/08/2016 10:55

So pleased it went well, womble - what a relief. It is very emotional knowing everything is ok, isn't it! Mine has started moving around so much I can see my stomach moving - very strange!! But nice and reassuring too!

Beegee3 · 09/08/2016 16:25

That's great womble . Health wise I seem to be okay, apart from headaches, nausea and tiredness. I am just really struggling emotionally as I am petrified. I am terrified that I am going to destroy everything with my children and I am very scared of telling them. I feel awful saying it but right now I am not happy and I feel like I have made a mistake, sorry x

LightTripper · 09/08/2016 16:51

Hello all. I might join too if that's OK? I am 41 and about 10-11 weeks pregnant. Have one lovely DD aged 2 but 1 m/c and 1 MMC since then, so feeling a bit anxious about this one. Have seen a HB on a reassurance scan at 7ish weeks, so that was brilliant, but sickness has been a bit better the last few days which is making me paranoid (I've been taking pills for it, and today actually forgot to take my lunchtime pills until 4pm as I wasn't feeling too bad until then - this NEVER happens so it makes me a bit anxious). With my DD I was throwing up until 20 weeks so my optimistic side just hopes the pills are working this time, but my pessimistic side is preparing for the worst.

I've got a scan a week tomorrow if nothing dramatic happens before then (and will also do SAFE test then, which is like Harmony for Downs etc.), so just trying to hold on until then and not get too carried away or too despondent. Would be good to have somewhere to burble...

Rugby01 · 09/08/2016 16:53

Oh beegee - I'm sorry you're feeling so down and scared. How old are your children? Perhaps when your symptoms subside you will feel differently. Or could it be hormones at play too? I am sure someone on here will be able give you advice on having older children already. If it's any solace, aswell as being excited, I'm also scared but for different reasons - will I be able to cope with a baby, impact on my career etc. Hmm . Hope you start to feel better soon.

Rugby01 · 09/08/2016 16:58

Welcome lightTripper - congratulations. Hope you can relax soon after the scans and tests. Burbling is good!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2016 14:38

Hello all - I'm blondes

I'm 43. Been ttc for 10yrs and after 4 private ivf cycles the 5th worked

I'm pregnant. Still can't believe it

Almost 8w and will almost be 44 when bubs is born

Rugby01 · 16/08/2016 17:11

Hello blondes - congratulations! Great news and welcome.

thereisnocheese · 16/08/2016 18:02

Congratulations blondes. What lovely news. I've written a few messages on this thread which seem to have disappeared so that's odd. I'm around nine weeks now. Had booking in app, and blood tests for thyroid which has to be redone as they tested for liver function instead! So that's a tiny bit annoying. Scan on 12th September and referral to consultant on 16 th September. So no news really, massive boobs and extreme tired ness...

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/08/2016 22:45

Thank you all. I'm on my phone but will tomorrow go on lappy and read all
Your posts /history

We only kept going as last 2 including this one was a fet and have 2 left in freezer and DF and I said we would go till all gone regardless of cost and then if used all would be 8 tries tho 10 embroys back as no way could have not used the frozen ones as would have always wondered what if .....

Tho has been a total head and mind fuck and I described it on my FB as emotional and mental and physical rollarcoaster - let alone a financial one

This baby's has cost £27k !!!!

But worth every penny but each failure you think why keep throwing /burning money for nothing - as sure some of you can understand xx

LightTripper · 17/08/2016 07:00

Hello Blondes, congratulations!! Sounds like a crazy rollercoaster, you must be exhausted! Hope you have a nice pregnancy to make up for it.

I'm about 11 wks. Scan today. Slightly bricking it as had MMC at the equivalent scan in my last of, but I think they are quite rare so trying to just worry about trisomies instead (very constructive I know! Grin)

Thought symptoms were fading over the weekend but vomiting back since yesterday. Turns out I am just allergic to working while pg Hmm. Pills are keeping to worst of it at bay though so it's bearable.

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

Womble75 · 17/08/2016 21:08

Hi blondes. How did your scan go light?
I had my booking in today. EDD 1st April lol!
All good my thyroid tests came back and they were really out of whack so GP has up my thyroxine again and wants more bloods next week. Wants to keep it under a tighter range whilst I'm pregnant. Happy he's so proactive about it though. Midwife lovely and put me at ease straightaway. Blood pressure ok also. Just got to wait for scan date now.
How's everyone feeling? Still have random nausea and boobs like torpedos but starting to relax a little bit with each milestone that passes.

LightTripper · 18/08/2016 10:11

Scan went really well, thanks! They put me back to 12 weeks, so I have a week less of being pregnant to look forward to (yay!). Still waiting for the full trisomy test results but the NT was really tiny (less than 1mm) so that's a good start. And most importantly the little bean was actually there, wiggling away! I was so relieved. I could see almost immediately that it wasn't empty like last time, but was finding it really hard to make out even a baby shape when the sonographer said straight away "well there's the heartbeat and it looks really nice" so that was a huge relief!

Sorry your thyroid tests were wobbly: is that a known thing in pregnancy? Good that they are managing it anyway, and sounds like they are confident they can keep it in bounds if they keep an eye on it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/08/2016 11:33

Glad scan went well

Also suffering from nausea all morning. Thank god I work nights as no way I could do a daytime job !!!

What pills have you got light? I'm seeing gp next week so
Hope he can give me something

Womble75 · 18/08/2016 12:01

That's great light.
Yeah if you are hypothyroid you should be closely monitored in pregnancy as baby gets its thyroid hormones from the mother so your results can go crazy. They like to keep your range very tight. But my gp luckily is on the ball. It was undiagnosed hypothyroidism that caused my mc's so I'm happy they are taking it seriously. When I found out I was pregnant he immediately upped my meds and has upped them again off the back of my latest bloods.
