Hooray and congratulations Gomez - don't know whether to be pleased or upset that Lily has beaten my little Buddha's weight

I'm sorry that the birth didn't go to plan for you but I'm sure it was all worth it (she said still typing with gritted teeth cos of her painful you know what).

See you soon on the June babies thread. (btw Gomez, strangely enough my little porker is not so far a marathon eater - but maybe I am talking too soon).

Good luck to everyone else and come on Cavy - I'm dying to see all these little (and not so little!) babies come out.

ahh getting there now - congrats to BW and Gomez - lovely stuff.

Nothing, nowt, zilch here. Not even a twinge. Blast.

sweetkitty · 21/06/2004 00:50

Congratulations Gomez - well done what a size!

karen01 · 21/06/2004 02:38

Congratulations gomez. Love the name. What a weight.

Nothing happening here at the mo. Just over 24 hrs to due date so fingers crossed.

I have been so hungry all day so all i have done is eat. Was at DD school sports day all day to it was lovely seeing all the kids having fun but it wasnt much fun sitting out in the heat.

Monkeygirl I am so sorry that I didn't notice your news yesterday!! And abject apologies for besting your boy on the weight front - but trust me that extra 1/2lb must make all the difference on the guzzling front as Lily is a permanent attachment on my (tender) nipples! Obvioulsy we are cooking them all too well - hence slow to start but all bouncing when they get here.

Thanks for all your congratulations. One draw back to naming her Lily however has been that everybody seems to think a lovely bunch of lillies would be appropriate - which indeed they are. However the house currently looks and smells like a funeral parlour and there are still more arriving!

Secur - take it easy on your last 2 days missus.

Take care all and look forward to more June Bugs.

hello all - one-handed typing here again so might not bother with caps.

secur - congratulations on nearly finishing work . hope you are hooked up to the internet at home now.

gomez - how are you recovering. is lily a sleeper or not??

can anyone remember the newborn stage of their last baby?? I can remember dd was attached to my breast for about 90% of the time and had to be held all the time by me. this time ds has to be woken up for feeds especially at night, sleeps in his cot & doesn't cry too much. part of me is so pleased and the other part is scared there is something wrong with him!!

Please hurry up and have those babies now. Karen has got to be next surely!!

I am still here. Have had bad pains again!!! (which I wouldnt mind if they amounted to something ) this afternoon after having a sudden urge to throw up. They are fairly regular but to be honest I am not holding my breath . i think I will be keeping my appointment with the consultant tommorrow.

I am going to go and lay on my bed with the fan on to cool down.

Hope you are enjopying your babies BW, Skara, MG and Gomez. DH reckons ours will be 8.5lbs will find out estimate weight tommorrow at the scan.

Take care all
xx

not sure what is going to happen tommorrow, I know i will be scanned first before I see her. I htink we will then have a chat about what is going to happen. To be honest i am expecting an internal to see if anything has started to happen. (fingers crossed) not sure about the section date yet but DH phoned work yesterday and they said we have to phone them after we have been to the hospital re extending his leave as he is due to fly back next week 23rd. I am really tempted just to say to the consultant just do the section, but then i feel like i am cheating ( I get annoyed when people have sections for the sake of it sorry just my opinion) I wish I could be induced as she would do it tommorrow if i could. I am fairly certain now though that I will end up with a section either way don't know why. .

thanks secur, your words have nearly reduced me to tears (i am emotional at the moment). TBH I think my mind is made up re section, (just know what i am letting myself in for it took me about 4-5weeks to recover to a comfortable stage last time.) will just have to see when they can do it and hope DH can get an extra few days to help out at home.

My appointment is at 10.15 tommorrow so if you don't hear from me then you know what is happening i will leave DH instructions on how to post to let you all know if need be.

Gomez · 21/06/2004 19:51

Karen - hope things are progressing for you. I also know how you feel about the section but please don;t get too hung up on it. I really didn't want one - to the extent that I was sobbing in the theatre after hours of bloody labour and being told that DD2 (seems funny to add the 2 there he, he) hadn't moved any further down the birth canel at the thought of it. Here I am 5 days later with it all done and dusted and not that bothered that is how Lily was born to be perfectly honest! Go with what will work for you and your family!

MG - your DS sounds like my DD1 (although bad Mummmy that I am I never woke her for a feed, just went on the she will wake when hungry basis)and you will be pleased to know continued in that chilled out vein....

But DD2 has today learned how to sleep, helped I think by the fact she doesn't need to feed for hours as my milk has arrived so we have all had a much better time of it today. Even made it to the shops, had lunch out (okay in Debenhams but hey) and managed a feed there - I am quite chuffed as it is only day 5. Think I barely made it to the shower day 5 first time around . The downside to all this being that I needed to find some clothes to put on - bad move nothing fits! Even maternity clothes I was wearing this time last week don't look/feel right! Why is this????????????????

Lily also appears to be the amazing farting girl but can get very upset (really screaming in fact) when doing so. Any ideas? I might ask for advice from the Mumsnet Oracle if it doesn't improve as the wee scone looks to be in agony.

Right I am off to put my feet up while DH collects DD1 from PsIL!

Collective push to anybody in need and getting moving vibes to those that want them .

Gomez · 21/06/2004 19:56

Karen - just caught Secur's post re: induction and it might be worth checking if any other consultants at your hospital will. My consultant wouldn't but I was lucky enough that the one on call when my waters broke would if the cervix was at all favourable - i.e. you have started to dilate or had a show etc. Which given the pains you have been feeling might well be the case. He wouldn't use postaglandin (and you wouldn't need to it be fair as its main purpose is to ripen the cervix) but was happy to allow an inital use of of the syntoncin (sp?) for 4 hours to see if I progressed any. It may be worth asking at the hospital tomorrow.

HTH

karen01 · 21/06/2004 22:29

Thanks Gomez i will think about it and talk to the consultant tommorrow.
I am off to have a long soak in the bath now as I am still getting the twinges [frin] things might get to work overnight, heres hoping.
