Hooray

Bogwoppit · 01/06/2004 16:43

not much happening here. still have massively swollen feet & ankles.
no sighns that baby is making any attempt to put in an appearance in the next few days or so!

my sunburn is a lovely shade of brown now - tho i still have horrid strap lines! - must get outside more!

Got measured for my nursing bras on Tues. she is estimating a 36G. I feel lik eDolly Parton compared to the little 36B I was pre-preg!

so it's an over the shoulder boulder holder for me!

hope everyone else is doing ok.

Bogwoppit

Skara · 01/06/2004 17:39

Oooh, how nice, a lovely new thread to nest in pre-baby

Bogwoppit, dunno what you're complaining about, 36G is restrained compared to mine Saying that I have gained sooooo much weight this time I'm going to be hefting around all summer in kaftans to hide my lard so it won't really matter if I have a matronly bosom on top of all the wobbly stuff.

Have bought 4 pineapples, walked 2 miles today and my babysitters are away all weekend so we'll have nowhere to leave the children so it'll turn up now! Actually would really fancy a quiet, lazy bank hol weekend so would really appreciate it if it didn't make an appearance till next Tues at the earliest. I'm still feeling huge but slightly more energetic and less sore so the prospect of another week and a half of this seems less hideous, esp. after today when I visited a friend with a newborn and just thought 'oh god, I can't do all that crying/burping/changing/carrying' again (too late, methinks...)

monkeygirl · 01/06/2004 17:51

Skara & Bogwoppit - I don't understand my boobs! They look humungus to me but I think my back/rolls of fat have increased so much as well that my cup size is only DD, even though I could knock someone's eyes out with them (if I could hoist them off the ground enough). you 2 must be positively Jordanesque!

Skara - you make me feel slightly better that your babysitters have gone off - are you just crossing your fingers and hoping for the best then?

Confession time - I bought one of those big mini choc bar selection packs to take some into hospital with me but I've nearly finished them already When dh ran the marathon he did some research and came up with jelly babies as a good source of quick energy-givers. Might have to buy them instead as I'm not so keen on sweets.

wine gums are supposed to be really good for energy, so may have to buy a few!! big bags

DH has picked his tickets up so he is home on wednesday for the duration.
Sometimes i really feel like babs is grinding right down and I am going to split in two then other times I feel that he is right back up again.
i have noticed a difference in bowel movements over past couple of days seem to be going a lot more frequently. Sorry just any change at the moment and I think "Is this the lead up?" Just me being impatient. (I have never experienced this side of being pg before so I am pretty much like a first timer now!!)
Better go need to pack DD bag for her dads. Don't know yet whether she will be back tuesday or thursday (hoping Tuesday as i miss her like mad Oh and the new Harry potter film is out....) No would rather she wasn't going but this could be the last time she sees her dad before we go off to cyprus, but i think he is planning a visit out there for Oct for DD bday.

Thats enopugh rambling from me.

catch you all later.

Skara · 01/06/2004 23:18

not fingers MG, legs

Seriously tho', I have no idea what I'm going to do - hope that it's born in the middle of the night? But one of ours is a light sleeper and the other a very early riser so the fear factor would probably make it highly unlikely. I've a couple of friends who I could leave them with for a few hours in the day, but they'd be seriously spooked (children that is) if they were expected to stay overnight as they've only ever stayed with my mum or the in-laws; just can't see no2 settling down in a strange place without 'mummmmeeeeeeeeeeeeee' (insert sobs here). Eek, I dunno. Just going to hope nothing happens this weekend, I'm not the sort of mother who could give birth whilst fondly looking into the eyes of my first two children

Ooh and I've eaten my bag of cashew nuts and dried apricots which I fancied for labour and drunk one of the big bottles of lucozade, glad I'm not the only piglet! Must remember to restock although with a 7-11 shop just up the street it's not quite so pressing...but I am likely to be pigging even in labour so must try and keep some scoff supplies in.

Karen how exciting that your dh is back on Wed! Me too on the bowel thing, and HP - am planning to go and see it on Monday night which is either a great distraction or insanity...

karen01 · 02/06/2004 00:32

I will have to wait till thursday or friday to watch HP as DD is not back till thursday early afternoon. (although last time expartner told me he will be back early he turned up 5hrs later wondering why i was panicking and on verge of phoning police to check that no accidents had happened, god forbid the other happening.)

not sure what to do with myself over the weekend apart from SLEEP, I dare not do too much just in case....... and me home alone. Just had a friend phone panicking that i am going to be on my own so she is wanting to come and stay saturday. She only lives 15-20 mins away and i have an aunty 5 mins away. Plus i am a big girl now quite capable of using the phone. (Ohh and too bloody independant for my own good )

better go and tuck DD in .

Quackers · 02/06/2004 00:38

Hya, just popping in to wish you all the best. Boggy and Lazyeye - HIYA!!!!! Good luck!!!

Cavy · 02/06/2004 00:58

Cor, blimey, you ladies are getting away from me, starting new threads... the cheek of it!
Still, am excited for Kbaby, at least.
In the last instalment... Monkeygirl was worrying about who would mind your DD if you went into labour when your friends are away -- does your DD go to playgroup or nursery? Maybe you could ask someone there if they could come over in an emergency?
I weighed myself today... 2 lb short of 3 stone over my pre-pregnancy weight. I only gained just over 2 stone in the other pregnancies. I reckon the difference is all in my boobs and thighs... The bosoms are already as big now as they used to get when they were absolutely full of milk for the other babies!

monkeygirl · 02/06/2004 02:13

Good idea to consider Cavy, although I'm a a bit shy of asking such a favour of someone I chat to regularly but am not necessarily good friends with. I'll be doing a 'Skara' and crossing those legs - that or going all out this week to get him out!

Secur- i think the kick count is supposed to be 10 movements within a 12hr period. Your DH was lucky twice in a night, mine got it twice in the week he was home and i told him he was lucky for that . Got a text of my friend today saying she has had her show this morning and has had niggles all day so hopefully she will have baby this weekend ( she is due June 2nd). I am startingti get really excited about everything again.

Going for a soak in the bath now to enjoy the peace and quiet. (calm before the storm )

Gomez · 02/06/2004 22:41

Evening All,

Essay submitted yesterday - yipee!!

Another afternoon at hospital with raised BP, odema, protein etc.. blood checked again and still nothing wrong with me. Getting scan next week as measuring seriously big now and mixed opinions on whether baby or fluid. At 39+ weeks does it actually matter??

Then almost wet myself lauging ( as opposed to coughing or sneezing which is when I usually wet myself at the moment) when my mum suggested I give DH a blow job to help things on their way - but remember dear I think you need to treat it like medicine and swallow it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FFS mum!

I can't believe there is nothing happening with anybody on this board - are we all going to wait until June? That in itself must be a bit of a record.

Take care all.

karen01 · 03/06/2004 03:42

gomez- I have heard that swallowing it makes it easier for the body to absorb so it gets things started quicker. Someone told DH that last time he was home, so he thought his luck was well and trully in Don't fancy it myself although maybe just once......to get things started or "for the sake of mankind" as they say
but still uuuuuugggggghhhhh

monkeygirl · 03/06/2004 13:38

Gomez - I cannot believe your mum suggested a bj!! Even if it does help things along! I don't think my mum has ever said the word sex to me let alone anything else. Still you must be really fed up and maybe you'll have to 'swallow' her advice - yeek! Good luck!

Well I think I am having even less twinges than usual. Baby shuffles around sometimes, the top of my back has been hurting for some reason, but bhs have stopped as has the grinding into my groin. Wish it was the calm before the storm.

DH was away Thursday night and it was the best night's sleep I've had for weeks. I've hinted at him sleeping in the front room now but he's been ignoring me, funnily enough. Had a curry last night but dh is in a much worse state than me, toilet-wise. What the bloody hell is happening down there!! I'm getting a bad feeling that I'm actually going to be overdue now.

Someone out there inspire me please with a baby!!

karen01 · 03/06/2004 13:49

I am shocked that none of us have had DB yet it must be a first for a thread to all wait untill due month!!.
Even though DH is not here i am getting really impatient, I would rather baby comes now and then DH can spend 3 weeks getting to know his baby and help me with DD and If it came this weekend (wishfull thinking) means i get to spend some time with DB to bond b4 DD comes home on thursday. I think I am being a bit selfish who cares DH would just have to get an earlier flight back.

Right where are those pineapples ???

Going to go and get bedroom sorted out again!! I hate putting the washing away.

monkeygirl · 03/06/2004 13:55

Karen - not selfish at all. Got to say, makes elective cs seem very attractive doesn't it - no mucking around with this 'will they won't they, when will they' lark. Better go out and buy those 7 pineapples and marinade them in some rl tea then!

Gomez · 03/06/2004 15:22

Didn't take mums advise you will be pleased to hear! DH wasn't quite as pleased but hey ho!

Might try the suggestion of pineapple in rasberry leaf tea thou. Actually to be fair I am not that bad, I would love for DB to be here but have thought from start I would be late so was never expecting and to be honest am still not expecting anything to happen. In fact have it planned out that will probably get a section w/c 14th June as can't be induced due to previous c-sect. Although to be fair think I should have taken up offer of c-sect from consultant and it would all be over and done with by now. Instead I am still cooking a huge bubba.

So come on somebody please.........

karen01 · 03/06/2004 15:58

Just got off the phone from DH and was re telling him about the bj business and he told me "Well you can take one for the team on wednesday" that was ever so nice off him. he also added that "off course it wouldn't be for his pleasure at all " yeah right.!!!
Gomez in the same situation as you re csection and not allowed to be induced if go over. TBH I will be pissed off if i end up with a late c section as could have had it this week if I had know. If that makes sense!!!!

Think i may have to go for a trip to tescos!! just so I don't have to do (swallow) one for the team!!

monkeygirl · 03/06/2004 16:10

Karen - that's very big and unselfish of your dh!

With my reflux atm I couldn't even contemplate it, sadly. Even that curry last night is beginning to argue with me now...

karen01 · 03/06/2004 16:23

I know he is just sooo considerate isn't he

monkeygirl · 04/06/2004 12:40

Thanks Twiglett - but with no action yet we might all be waiting for the July thread - ooh how impatient am I?

It's pretty quiet here this weekend. Karen I know you're around but Skara is normally as well - can her not going on line mean something is finally happening??

Not much to report so far, except my tummy has not been right this weekend but I bet that was the curry's fault. At least there was a bit of groin grinding from db last night so felt slightly encouraged that he hasn't totally given up on coming out soon. But my dressing gown is going to stop reaching around my bump soon so he's GOT to make an appearance soon, please! If not I might have to go down the bj route, gulp!
