Skara - hope you and Jude are doing well - is it too early to say if he is going to be an easy baby or a 'challenge'?

Secur - I did wonder about the absentees as well. It's hard to know now whether to assume the deed is done, although it is hard to believe we only have one baby so far - what's going on out there?? (By the way, I think Lazyeye/Niceglasses meant shuffled up?)

I got briefly excited at lunchtime today. I had pains which I've never had before around my groin and back for half an hour but they have since stopped. My friend told me front contractions were a bit like having gastro-enteritis, and my tummy is feeling not quite its usual self but then I'm probably reading too much into any hint of a tweak.

Gomez - are you sneakily holding out for a cs?
My new prediction for you is that you will have a quick onset of labour in the next 36 hours - now where's my magic wand...

Secur - I can't believe you're still working - is anyone else??

Secur - good idea. I know you are classed as self-employed but you surely need just a wee bit of proper 'you' time (if that's possible with your little brood or will you then have to take over full-time care of them?).

Oh yes, weather will be good - well my magic wand has done some good today so I'm feeling confident - my friend who had let me down this weekend is probably still going away but now only from early evening Saturday to late afternoon Sunday, so it gives me a few more hours grace just in case anything happens.

Think I'll need to go out a get a few more wands for that lot, together with my bucketful of wishes (labour in daytime when everyone is around and easily contactable, an incredible shrinking tummy, bottom, thighs etc, an easy-going baby who is the perfect bf'er and sleeper, a big win on the lottery - oh stop me now!)

Gomez · 08/06/2004 20:10

Honestly you lot - those magic wishes from the June wand must still be on there way to Scotland because my baby hippo doesn't appear to be have any interest in saying hello.

Have got hospital tomorrow where I think I may get a 'sooty & sweep! (deep joy)so maybe over the weekend!

Still feeling rotten thou' so a wee bit interested in that whole dodgy tummy theory!

Cavy · 08/06/2004 21:25

All my pregnancies started and ended with bad colds, and have just developed a cold...! But I don't want Bubba to appear for another week at least! I am trying to count.. I think there's still so few of us that we can only expect an announcement of a baby every 5 days or so!

karen01 · 08/06/2004 21:27

Gomez fingers crossed that things will happen soon.
Skara glad you and Jude are ok

had curry last night to no avail. Didn't manage any nookie though DH too tired, fingers crossed for tonight. he keeps telling me that the baby is going to come tommorrow, as since he went back to Cyprus he has had dreams that babs will arrve on the first friday back and it will be a very quick labour !!!!! I wish !!!! Suppose got another 24 hrs for his prediction to come true.

If he is right i will rent him out.

Going to go and see Harry potter tonightas DD came ack this afternoon yeah.

take care all
xx

Skara · 08/06/2004 23:01

I had a bit of a dodgy tummy the day things started with Jude, and with the other two so fingers crossed the theory works...will be keeping my eye out for announcements every time I turn the pc on!

And no, I'm not going anywhere this might be a May baby on paper but he's a June baby in my head! I have to say (touching wood) he is looking like he'll be pretty easy going, he's very cuddly and seems quite placid compared to no2 who couldn't be left for a second without screaming the place down - have managed meals with him lying next to us in the moses basket, a shower two days in a row with him lying on the bed...he seems to spring to life at night and want to feed every 2 seconds but that's normal (yawn...). Bf is going really well, didn't really expect any issues as I fed the other two for 20 months each so my boobs are tough as old boots

Am slightly concerned by the state of my post-no3 body - apart from torpedo-boobs which are currently looking likely to rocket into space, everything else looks a bit sad and drooping and flabby!

karen01 · 09/06/2004 03:13

Skara- I am sure your body will return back to normal soon.

baby is definatley bearing down more as I keep getting the feeling that I need to go to the loo but know that I don't as have just been.
Hopefully Skara another June baby will pop!! out soon. (If only it were that easy).

Bogwoppit · 09/06/2004 11:36

I'm here, just got sidetracked yesterday by putting a new bed together! (don't tell dh!!!)

i did lots of DIY pre ds arriving so who knows!

I reckon our babies will be like this thread - quiet at arrving at 1st then a mad flurry of activity from mid june onwards. Happy to be proved wrong of course!!!

no obvious signs here. lets hope for news ovrthe weekend

Toothache · 09/06/2004 11:43

OH COME ON YOU LOT!!!

monkeygirl · 09/06/2004 13:10

Oh we are really really trying, honest but there are obviously some really stubborn babies here!

Apart for my half hour of excitemtent yesterday, nothing happening here - even my tummy is back to normal. Now I am getting worried about tomorrow night cos we have decided to chance it and not scrabble around for cover. It's going to be a long long night, unless I can get the little darling out in the next 24 hours. I have to go to the shops and park today or else we will a) starve (and I've demolished all the chocolate in the house) and b) go stir crazy.

Please tell me I didn't dream that it is actually June and not March or something...

karen01 · 09/06/2004 13:17

i am really pi**ed off today ( and i feel really emotional) I want the baby out NOW. Even though I still have 13days left. I want to be comfortable again when i lay down to get some!! sleep (dreaming i know)
Oh well got a couple of BBQs this weekend so that is something to look forward too.
think i will take DD out for a walk to friends this afternoon she can go on her bike and i will waddle behind DH can run alongside her.
Going to go and do some house work (it is never ending).

karen01 · 09/06/2004 13:20

i meant to add, i think our babies are waiting to arrive during the Englnad (are scotland playing in it I am crap when comes to footie) games in the Euro Cup (just to annoy there daddies) So I think we could end up with a mid june boom

monkeygirl · 09/06/2004 13:29

Oh yes, I am under strict instructions not to give birth during England v France. DD was born during an FA Cup Final which everyone was watching whilst I was pushing. Michael Owen scored just as she came out so maybe I could arrange that to happen again

Karen - know how you feel about sleep. Awake at before 6am again today cos I was so uncomfortable and hot.

Toothache · 09/06/2004 13:39

Karen01 - Was that sarcasm about Scotland still being in the Euro cup????

I think we got put out by an under 12's team from the Galapagos Island.

Gomez · 09/06/2004 14:23

Morning All,

Interesting appointment with consultant this morning. Cervix soft but still very closed - boo! Which also meant no point in a wee sweep - shame Booked in for a c-section Monday 14th June if nowt happens before then - which I am sure it will. Thinking confident and all that - I am going for sometime between 8th and 10th now. At lest we know have an end date if nothing else!

Right of to fall out with the bunch of tossers that are the Bank of Scotland.

Take care all.

karen01 · 09/06/2004 14:55

toothache- No it wasn't sarcasm I honestly couldn't tell you who is playing other than England (even then i don't know who our team is!!)
gomez- hopefully you will deliver naturally before the 14th fingers crossed for you.

I am due to see the consultant on my due date if I haven't delivered by then. (hopefully i will have)
MW is coming out to see me next week instead of me having to go to clinic (even though it is only 10 mins walk from my house) She likes to come out at the end so we get more time to chat etc about things.

It is lovely having DH home but i find myself nagging at him and not being nice at all at the moment and i feel so guilty about it so keep appologising, then saying things like "ohh you just don't understand" poor bloke is probably wishing he was back at work. never mind Keeps him on his toes.
