Skara

Congratulations on your gorgeous boy, he is exactly a year older than my little man. We celebrated his first birthday while you were giving birth.

Despite the fact that my man was born in May, I was on the June/July 2003 thread

cathncait · 06/06/2004 16:01

Congratulations Skara. I turn my back for a couple of days and you go and pop out a bub! Looks like we're all agreed that you chose a lovely name for your boy! So glad to hear all went well in the end.
I'm still here wishing I was having db now...but went to see midwife this week and got a bit overwehlmed at the realness of it all now and that I have to give birth soon. Came home feeling a bit scared and nervous - had a bit of a crap time having dd. So now I go from being so very sick of being pregnant to thinking 'uh oh, here we go again.....'. Having said that am considering having sex to get the ball rolling now which must mean I am ready! no way that would happen otherwise
Glad you made it till your dh comes home Karen - well nearly there anyway. you will feel much more settled I'm sure.

Congratulations, Skara. Although you ruined our Perfect--All-In-June chances. I feel all emotional just thinking about the idea of holding a new baby in my arms. &SIGH&.
No twinges here, either. Even though I've been walking everywhere, carrying older children, even running sometimes! But I would rather go another few weeks, anyway.

karen01 · 07/06/2004 02:54

Secur- as far as I know my friend hasn't had the baby yet. (or atleast last night she hadn't) no her DH has been told to text me asap after the birth.

DH home tommorrow so hopefully will get the ball rolling
Went to see midwife today. baby still 3/5 engaged. I have heat rash all over my bump and top of my boobs which is hurting/itching so any remodies please. Mw said pregnancy is really agreeing with me my BP is at its best yet 120/65 think its beacause i am really relaed now knowing that DH is going to be back and everything is ready.

I am just soooo excited about it all now and can't wait to be sat holding my babs with DD cuddling up to us (and DH). Whilst watching TV last week DD said "mummy just think in a few weeks I can be sat watching telly whilst cuddling the new baby on the sofa" ahhh.

take care xx

Morning - EDD today so it will happen soon right. That is how it works isn't it. Given that I have had 4 phonecalls and 6 e-mails so far today it appears that is what the rest of the bloody world thinks Give me peace.

Right of plant grumpy and back to plant preggo - feeling completely wrecked today but luckily DD is going to PsIL after nursery and DH is picking her up there after dinner - so once my carpet fitters have been I can go to bed!! Except they are due anytime between 11am and 2pm so could be a long day. Was thinking of phoning the shop and 'pretending' that I might need to go out quickly and so could they come here as soon as possible. But don't have the bottle

Secur - my essay was absolute rubbish and verged on plargarisim in parts so all in all not a good job from me. Hope I don't get drummed out for being a fraud.

Karen - hope you and DH have a lovely evening together.

And how are the rest of you wonderful blooming ladies. Any action to be found??

Right of for a cuppa and some drivel on the telly.

Catch you all later.

monkeygirl · 07/06/2004 13:59

Gomez - of course it will start today - hasn't your db read your notes As for carpet shop, can't you play the 'pregnancy card'? I did when I went to the bank a few days ago. The queue was huge so I stuck my stomach out even more, let my sweat drip onto my face and asked the mortgage advisor to help me with my account. I've done it on the phone as well with the 'but I'm heavily pregnant with a toddler' line (and add a few snuffles or something). Sorry but at times like this you have to be shameless.

Karen you sound so upbeat and very happy, you make me feel guilty for being so grumpy about the whole thing. I'm longing to have db but all I can think about is the potential problems and trials with db, dd and dh.

Db is definitely still very active - don't know if this is a good or bad sign. He's also found a really painful nerve to headbutt. DD is on half-term so am trying to keep some semblance of a normal life for her but I really am finding it hard to even play or talk to her like a normal person.

Secur - hope you are not feeling too fed up with being due at the end of the month when we are all wittering on about wanting to give birth NOW. Or is it a blessing for you??

Congrats Skara & welcome to Jude

well nothing much happening here. have done long walks, carrying toddlers, rspberry leaf, have pineapple in fridge, hot curries lined up & DH has got lucky a couple of times over the Bhol!

saw m/w yesterday - baby still only 5/5 & she says it's definitely OP, but should turn druring labour. after saying it's a big baby at rpevious appt she now says it's small baby with lots of space to move in!! well we'll see - maybe she was just trying to cheer me up!

wating for acupuncture appt now cos I keep ketting cramp in my hips at night so not sleeping great, plus have feet the size of balloons. mind you - no guarantee I'll get appt b4 baby arrives.

glad everyone else is ok. just want toget this show on the road now!

Well Secur, as long as dh is around or I can perfect one-handed typing I'm sure I will be around, probably starting threads on bf or something similar. And you're not allowed to have a July baby anyway!

BW - you're really going for it - good luck. My dd1 was OP but I still managed to push her out without any help (and that's not a boast, just wanted to say that it isn't always so bad, although I know I have nothing to compare it to yet) with a labour of 14.5 hrs which apparently isn't bad for a 1st timer. But hopefully DB will turn. My mw has stuck to her policy of not telling me what position db is in cos 'it can change' (well yes I bloody know that).

have had my mum visiting. have taken her on a tour of all the places that DS might be left at while she gets up here!

her & ds had a fun time baking cakes while I was at m/w yesterday.

she's gone home again now, lets hope I don't have to get her to do a U-turn on the motorway!!!

I am still amazed that I have got to 38 weeks & seen the same m/w every time. what a miracle.

Secur - I am sure we will all still speak to you even if you move to July thread!

What with puzzle donkey3, big brother & (hopefully) a new baby - I am sure I will still fit in time to catch up on here!!! Dh is off for 3 weeks when baby arrives so he can be on duty while I am on here

Oooh I've got a real soft spot for BB, it reminds me of when DD1 was born (she was a May 2001 baby) and I watched it endlessly whilst bf endlessly...
