What are the rudest / most unusual things people have said to you since becoming pregnant? I've had;

Was there nothing on TV that month? Some people plan their children thanks!

Was it planned? Erm no I got married 6 months ago and then suddenly forgot how to use contraception.

You're absolutely huge, you're going to have a massive baby! Ok I'm 18 weeks pregnant, have put on 2lbs and measuring just right but yeah I'm sure your informed comment makes sense.

Are they going to charge you extra to tan your stomach snigger snigger (from a work colleague). I replied no as my stomach is still a lot smaller than many people's...

Same work colleague told me to lose a few pounds (she's 3 stones heavier than me and the same height )

Also the belly rubbing arghh.. good to have somewhere to rant

From the HR girl at work "you're certainly filling out". Well, I'm still wearing size 10 trousers, you're nearer an 18.

"Was it planned?" ... I get that all the time!! From people who are pregnant themselves! Whether it was or it wasn't, I would like to know what business that is of yours? Sheesh! DH told me to chill until he got asked it himself, lol

I get "you are huge" and "you are tiny" all the time. I have realised it depends on what I am wearing. If I wear something that emphasises my bump, I am huge. If I wear something loose, I am tiny. Quite funny!

The worst one I ever got was "Oh dear, I wouldn't let a dog go through what a woman goes through in labour" said to me at 37 weeks!

Carrie that's terrible! One of my friends said to me 'good luck you're going to need it' in relation to labour. Well I'm sure if you managed I can manage

You look like a whale

Omg salene! I'd have been tempted to say 'well I will lose this baby weight, what are you going to do about your face'

'Was it intended?' - from a male colleague. I'm 42 years old and have been married for 4 years...

And a lot of people have said 'well done' when I've told them...not sure why but sounds a bit odd?

You're having a girl because your face has gotten fat! (Tbf said in jest by someone I like so she was forgiven!)

I have twins, once a random stranger, middle aged man asked me in a packed lift (no escape route) if I'd had a vaginal birth. Yes he actually used the word vaginal and expected me to reply. I was utterly mortified. Why wod I want to discuss my vagina in public with a strange man???!!! Just WHY

"Oh, you're pregnant? I thought you looked weightier."

"Well I think you're silly!" Said quite aggressively when i told a woman (who'd asked) that we weren't finding out the sex. I then got a lecture about painting bedrooms

"have you started pelvic floor exercises yet?"

• from a male friend in response to pg announcement! I'm fairly sure the state of my pelvic floor is not his concern. i forgave him as he's nice :)

The worst thing is this won't stop for years, I found school age was more of less the end of the stupid comments.

People will ask "is he/she a good baby", when you're planning on having your next, if you were happy/disspointed with the gender, have an opinion on the way you feed, your sex life post birth, when you should wean, the use or not of a dummy, nurseries, when your DC should stop using a buggy, tantrums, nappies, potty training and every other bloody thing connected with babies and toddlers.

Yep another one who got: "I thought you'd put on weight." Thanks.

Loads of "was it planned?" from vague acquaintances (me & OH are not married, shock horror). Also one colleague who I'd never spoken to before said "no offence but your bump absolutely disgusts me, it really makes me feel sick", thanks a bunch. Didn't know what to say I was so shocked, wish I'd told her to FO.

Bloody hell Veda! What a weirdo!

I have had "omg you are huge" and "you will never be tiny again!" People seem to be happy at me gaining weight which is so odd! Then I got "you have wide hips so the baby will just shoot right out of you" and "Oh I just thought you got fat as you are big all over." I really haven't gained that much really! All from people I barely know!!

Joyalf that's terrible, it's so hard to have a witty response ready isn't it! Something along the lines of 'well your face makes me sick' would have been good

I had a male colleague call me fatty the other week ha-ha but he's generally nice so didn't hold too much of a grudge.
Also had a friend ask if I was still having sex. Erm none of your business!

Who's the Father

Oh I also had a friend screw up her face when I said I would be breastfeeding. She asked how long for so I said I'm not sure, as long as I can manage really (will be going back to work when baby is 10 or 11 months so might be hard after that). She said oh after 6 months it's disgusting to breastfeed. Is it really? I will be sure to keep your disgust in mind while happily feeding my child.

Hehe meatliqour reply with you / your partner depending on persons sex.

As soon as people found out we were having twins I got lots of 'was it IVF?' questions?

Quite why anyone (including strangers in the street) thought this was their business is beyond me.
