Found out I'm pregnant yesterday but slight bleeding

Also confused and worried. I had what I thought was a period - started 31/1/16 and enough to wear a tampon for 2/3 days, mainly brown blood but tampon was soaked. I then started to bleed on Sunday night- red blood but small amount. Don't normally bleed between periods hence the pregnancy test yesterday. Rang 111 and saw my gp who took bloods yesterday and more bloods on Thursday to measure hcg levels. I'm so worried. Woke this morning and no more blood overnight, I have sickness and mild cramping.the period before the brown one started 5/1/16. Pregnancy test shows 1-2 weeks (but that's from conception).anyone else had this and all turns out ok?

I've been bleeding on and off since 5 weeks due to a 'chorionic haemmorhage' (basically a big blood clot in the uterus). I'm now 10 weeks with twins - babies are fine. Some women do bleed throughout pregnancy. It's hard to say though, symptoms are very similar to miscarriage (I've had 2 in the past).

HCG results should help - they'll be increasing if you're pregnant, decreasing if you're having a MC. It's really the only way to tell at the moment as you're probably too early for a scan. Good luck to you x

Hcg level is 45, think I'm around 4 weeks.. Worried and have to concentrate at work

I had two mcs followed by two babies so I've been where you're at.

First off, there's absolutely nothing you can do. I know that's awful and I know the feeling, but there really is nothing you can do.

Second, if it's brown blood, that's a really really good sign. It's probably just implantation bleeding. I had that with both my successful pregnancies. Also, were your HCG levels 45 yesterday? That's definitely pregnant. It's perhaps a tad low for five weeks (which you would be on the basis of an LMP starting on 5/1/16), but so long as it's gone up by at least double on Thursday, you really are in a good place.

I had brown bleeding with a pregnancy at about your stage and was terrified, in a panic, was due on a flight to Dublin which I went ahead and took. Had an HCG test abroad, put myself through ridiculous amounts of stress. That "pregnancy" got up at 1am this morning for a wee and then wet the bed at 4.35am. Sigh. So I join you in the "trouble concentrating at work" boat today. At least I can mainline coffee!!

Middlings thanks so much for your reply. I've just sobbed - rollercoaster of emotions from thinking of baby to then miscarriage. The results I got today were from bloods yesterday so will find result of bloods taken on Thursday on Friday morning. Digital says 1-2 weeks, got cheap pound test and faint line.. Thought it would be darker by now.

1-2 weeks from conception is entirely possible if you ovulated late.....it could just all be taking a while to get going.

I know it's possible, but try to relax - honestly - there is no point in panicking, as really, there is nothing you can do now except wait.

I really do know how hard that is :(

Middlings- your brown bleeding, how much? Sorry if tmi. I have when wipe and like you would normally have like normal amounts of discharge..

I had more than that to begin with, but not enough for a tampon. I had a bit when I wiped for a good 10 days after that.

Get them to see if they can rush your bloods and give you the answer today. HCG tests are pretty much immediate so you should be able to have the results in a couple of hours. You'll want your numbers to have doubled from Monday.

Make sure you're well hydrated going in - harder to get blood out if you're not.

Thanks middlings- that's similar to me- not enough for tampon. Did another 3 tests (!) this morning. All showing positive but faint line. Digital still showing 1-2 weeks. Appointment for bloods tomorrow and results Friday. I'll wait as those appointments are in place. What is this brown blood? I had red blood, a small amount Sunday night but none since. I feel pregnant and feel sick this morning..

Try to stop doing the tests, continually testing will make your anxiety worse. The fainter lines are probably due to more diluted urine, not because you're 'less pregnant'. Brown blood is 'older' blood. Spotting and bleeding in early pregnancy is very common and could be due to hormones or implantation. Try not to worry too much.

I'm going to try to work out dates. I'm in a long distance relationship although had plans to move anyway so it could have only happened on certain weekends!

Spotting this morning, then nothing all day. Bloods tomorrow. So scared I've already had the miscarriage but still showing as positive in test.
The miscarriage I had I had no pain, no clots just like light period, was early around 5 weeks. Really can't bear that to happen again 😔

So sorry OP. I had a MC at six weeks back in April and it was devastating. I got pregnant the next month trying though. FX for you

Just to note - don't use a tampon with this sort of bleeding as you may get an infection. You need to use pads.

Apple I'm so sorry. That doesn't sound good. Go and see the GP anyway and see what they say.

This isn't the end though. There are loads of ways that you can improve your chances with early miscarriage.

Come back when you're ready and we can talk about immunology testing - I had two miscarriages, then had some investigations done, acted on the investigations and have two children now.

So sorry Apple My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I took comfort in the fact that most of the time, there's no rhyme or reason to their cause. It's nothing you have done wrong. Take it easy on yourself

I'm keeping strong. No more since this morning. It was brown but all over pantyliner (sorry tmi) then nothing. I have no pain. Test still showing positive 1-2 weeks. Will ring for blood results. Praying hcg levels have doubled x

Blood results aren't back yet.. Looks like it is going to be tomorrow morning.. Feel pregnant still but guess I will either way? Very sickly, tired, dizzy.

Did not have more brown blood after yesterday morning. Still positive on test this morning. I'm praying all is ok. Docs appointment 9.30 this morning. Hopefully hcg levels will have doubled or more since Monday.
