I'm very happy with the news ☺️
Also confused and worried. I had what I thought was a period - started 31/1/16 and enough to wear a tampon for 2/3 days, mainly brown blood but tampon was soaked. I then started to bleed on Sunday night- red blood but small amount. Don't normally bleed between periods hence the pregnancy test yesterday. Rang 111 and saw my gp who took bloods yesterday and more bloods on Thursday to measure hcg levels. I'm so worried. Woke this morning and no more blood overnight, I have sickness and mild cramping.the period before the brown one started 5/1/16. Pregnancy test shows 1-2 weeks (but that's from conception).anyone else had this and all turns out ok?

I know. I do feel much better today- going to the hospital etc makes me nervous! I haven't seen my son as he has been with his dad all weekend so I'm looking forward to spending quality time- might do cinema for distraction!
Wow you are v brave but you'll certainly be distracted!
I have everything crossed for us. Still have symptoms this morning.. Was trying to work out if it's a possibility I'm earlier than I think.. Then it crossed my mind it could be a girl (silly I know?) as I didn't have any of this with my son..
Youre obviously processing things via your dreams..

Yes I do that a lot, always dream about the real things going on in my life.
I was thinking this morning that when I had my spotting, it was whilst I had an upset stomach (sorry!) And that could have triggered it... but whereas you have your symptoms, I barely have anything. I did have sore boobs but that's subsided and the nausea isn't anything at all, it has got easier with each pregnancy but I feel more or less fine :-/ I keep thinking there is no reason it'd happen again...but then there is no reason for it not to either, I'm driving myself crazy!! Roll on tomorrow so I can stop doing this to myself.
I'm so glad your feeling better about things and of course dates could get slightly mixed up so maybe you right? If your hcg rises again, it could well be something to mention to your doctor? I want more than anything for us both to be here in a day or so sharing our good news!! Xx

Hi ladies, just wanted to say 'snap' re the spotting and anxiety. I am 7 + 5 with my second and have been spotting since Sunday morning off and on.

I went to the EPC yesterday and they said everything looks OK internally, and there was a heartbeat, but I still had more spotting overnight (this time brighter red rather than brown). I am working from home today as I was in bits yesterday. I'm an older mum and have had problems conceiving so can't take for granted that I will conceive again if this doesn't work out. I had such an easy pregnancy last time, and though I remember that the 1st trimester dragged and was worrying, it was nothing like this!

Anyway, I just wanted to send both Apple and Lynsey good, sticky vibes and hope that soon we're all in a better place!

LynseyH5 · 16/02/2016 09:23

Oh and no not silly, think we all try and guess our babies gender! I saw a psychic about 2 weeks ago who saw my spirit baby and also told me this baby will be fine, what gender they would be and that I've either mixed my dates up, so I'm further along, or baby will arrive 5 wks early! I so hope she's right about baby being fine xx

LynseyH5 · 16/02/2016 09:26

Hello arborea! So glad you've had a scan to reassure you but I guess still spotting isn't helping your anxiety at all. Take it easy and listen to your body. If you need to relax, do it. If you want to stay busy, do that too. Keep your chin up and remember that lovely little beating heart you saw SmileFlowers

Applecrumbling · 16/02/2016 09:54

I've done clear blue this morning and still showing 1-2 weeks 😔 But still showing pregnant 😀
Spotting is normal in early pregnancy. 😀
Arborea - I feel the same re being an older mum. I'm 39..

Arborea- bear in mind too, the chances of miscarriage reduce once a heartbeat has been detected 😀

Applecrumbling · 16/02/2016 11:06

If the pregnancy progresses, I will have a bundle of joy just before my 40th. 😀

Talking due dates, if all is ok with my little one, baby will be due on my eldest sons birthday...but I have had all my kids exactly 6 days before their due dates which would make it my partners birthday! Then if the psychic got it right and it'll be 5 wks early, it's be about the time of my birthday! Strange but the best birthday gift ideas could ever wish for Smile

LynseyH5 · 16/02/2016 11:26

It'll be & gift i --blooming predictive tx!

Applecrumbling · 16/02/2016 13:19

It's very hard not to imagine the future isn't it. I bought some folic acid today. Not sure if I'm coming or going but bought some anyway. No more spotting or bleeding this morning.
Feel in a world of my own out and about but feel better for being around people..

I'm scared to get or feel excited 😔

Good luck Apple & all.

Am 27 + 3 with DC2. Around 4/5 weeks had pink spotting one night, already thought all over. Few days later a bit of brown spotting. Few days after that, went for a wee and the entire loo was filled with bright red blood. Awful cramps all day too. Completely assumed all over. Was in EPU constantly, nothing on 1st scan, but levels rising ...then finally early internal scan and a little heartbeat. Nothing since the last horrendous bleed around 6 weeks. It CAN all be ok, made me realise the tales about brown blood being good/red blood being 100% bad- not all true for all. They think it was because my placenta was (then) lying very low. Much luck xx

Applecrumbling · 16/02/2016 15:12

Thanks sweetsuz, gives me hope and glad it is working out for you.
I'm having lots of symptoms today, nauseous, metallic taste, very sore boobs.
Something deep inside is telling me it is going to be ok?

Murloc · 16/02/2016 15:22

Flowers to you while you're waiting.

I bled horrendously until 24 weeks with both my pregnancies - EPAU couldn't find any reason either time.

2 sections later and apparently I've got a wonky womb that probably caused it - they could only tell once they'd opened me up.

Just wanted to tell you that sometimes it works out just fine, even if it is scary as hell.

LynseyH5 · 16/02/2016 16:25

It's so lovely to hear the happy stories.
I agree it's hard to feel happy or excited. I keep having the feeling I'm going to come out of my scan tomorrow with a huge smile but I know that's me wanting to be positive. Trying not to get my hopes up but also keep telling myself there's no reason for me to have a second BO. I'm incredibly nervous for my scan tomorrow. Thought I'd be nervous in the morning but it's already kicking in cos it means I'll know 100% for sure one way or another :-/

Applecrumbling · 16/02/2016 16:35

Lynsey.. We are getting there, getting closer to tomorrow. How has your day been?
Did you only have spotting?

Hi Applecrumbling/ Everyone!

I had my thirs set or results back just now.

I have had three blood test with the doctors. One last Monday - result was 174. One on Friday - result was 148 and one yesterday - result was 145.

The doctors wont say it is a miscarriage for sure, and the EPU wont see me as they say they wont see anything on a scan.

I feel more than a bit lost! What do you think these numbers mean? I am 99.9% sure it is a miscarriage i just want it confirming medically to me so we can move on from it. Feel like we are stook in limbo at the moment!

x

Applecrumbling · 16/02/2016 16:48

Hi Lizzie,
Totally understand what you are going through.
You know what I'm doing now? I'm stopping the googling, stopping the thinking as much as possible. Looking after myself and going about the day. It's so hard. I'm not particularly religious but it is out of our hands, other than looking after ourselves.. Think something higher will make the decision!
The hcg levels 'should' double every 24-48 hours or from what I've read increase at least 60%. But I've read they can suddenly unexpectedly increase.. How many weeks are you again? What have they said are the next steps?

OP posts:
Applecrumbling · 16/02/2016 16:49

Sorry I meant 48-72 hours I think!

OP posts:
Applecrumbling · 16/02/2016 16:53

Also, I'm wondering how accurate these results are. Not sure what methods in the lab are used and also may depend on lab person testing? Who knows?

Yes I had spotting that lasted for 3 days. If it was that on its own, I maybe wouldn't worry so much but it's how my previous miscarriage was discovered. I never had it with any of my 3 healthy pregnancies.
