hi pecker i have just come across your thread and just wanted to send you a hug as if your pregnancy is ectopic (which i hope it isnt)i know exactly what you are going through.
i lost my pregnancy on 28/11 as it was ectopic. my hcg levels were rising slowly but not doubling and i also had a brown, stringy discharge. i went to a&e and they did a blood test. at this point i was roughly 5 weeks pregnant and the hcg level was 141. the dr in a&e arranged for me to go to the epu just over 2 days later (56 hours) for another blood test. the 2nd blood test came back at a level of 226 and the nurse in the epu said that everything was fine and sometimes in some pregnancies the levels dont double. she sent me away with a scheduled scan for 20/12.
a few days later i started with a slight pain on my right side. i didnt really think anything of it as it wasnt severe, just felt felt like cramp but over the next 2 days the pain got worse. by the 3rd day the pain was unbearable. i went to a&e who did a scan. at 1st they couldnt see anything and i demanded a vaginal scan. this time they did see something but wasnt 100% sure that it was my baby.
as i was in so much pain they admitted me into hospital for further tests.
i had been on the ward for no more than 20mins and i was screamng in agony. drs didnt waste any timr and rushed me to theatre. they then found that my tube had ruptured and they removed it. i had to have a blood transfusion as id lost between 5 and 6 pints.
once i came back round from the op they told me that it was touch and go for a while.
the whole experience has terrified me and reading your thread brought back how it all started for me.
if your cramping gets any worse please go to a&e straight away and if they cant find anything on a scan demand a vaginal one. that was the advise given to me from a lady on mn called aitchwooh she was fantastic and gave me loads of advise. she probably even saved my life. its better to be safe.
i so hope and pray that your pregnancy will be fine and that im just talking a load of rubbish. and i am very sorry if i have scared you. i just wanted to share my story with you.
as merrypiffmas said have a look on www.ectopic.org website. theres trained people there who will be able to give you more advise.
once again i am sorry if i have scared you.
ive got everything crossed for you. xxx
