Thanks diddly...im sure all is fine x Smile

DisneyMillie · 08/11/2015 08:51

Good luck today paws - hopefully just a bonus chance to see little one xx

CottonSock · 08/11/2015 09:26

Hope all is OK paws. Xx

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 08/11/2015 15:57

Thanks guys, scan tomorrow now, 4pm...will let you know how it goes, as you said, probably will just end up being a bonus scan Smile x

Nousername2015 · 08/11/2015 21:45

Oh no paws, it's awful that you have to wait although you sound extremely positive which is great. Hope tomorrow goes quickly for you.

cloudjumper · 09/11/2015 09:37

Thinking of you today paws, good luck for the scan!

Hope everyone had a good weekend! I seem to spend mine recovering from the week before these days - totally crashed on Friday evening, and only started to feel human again last night Confused. Four more weeks at work, that's 20 days not that I am counting Thankfully, my projects are starting to wind down now!

I am so grateful to my GP for sorting me out with all the anti-constipation drugs. Kicking myself that I didn't go months ago and let it get so bad. I had totally forgotten the utter relief and comfort of being able to go every day easily... Heed my words, ladies, don't suffer in silence (glycerin suppositories are the best Grin).

MotherOfCats · 09/11/2015 12:38

On the subject of being bunged up, has anyone else experienced alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhoea? I'm quite bunged up as most pregnant women are, but then ode a week I get bad tummy cramps followed by unpleasant diarrhoea. Not sure what I can do about it?

Good luck for the scan this afternoon paws

Nousername2015 · 09/11/2015 13:13

28 working days here cloud so I'm sharing that feeling!

Best of luck for later paws

Metalhead · 09/11/2015 13:16

Good luck for later paws, I hope all is well.

Glad you managed to sort out the constipation cloud! I bought some Fybogel yesterday so will give that a go for a few days, then if things don't improve I'll go and see my GP as well to hopefully get things normalised before I have my section (as I've heard you can become even more constipated from the pain relief drug afterwards).

Good luck for later Paws

I had an early scan on Saturday, which put me 6 days ahead and showed a healthy 8 week bean with all the right bits and in a perfect part of my weird womb! So relieved and grateful, just a few more weeks until we see them again for hopefully another positive scan Grin

cloudjumper · 09/11/2015 15:13

Yay carrie That's great news! Big milestone to tick off Smile

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 09/11/2015 17:47

Yay carrie! Congratulations on good scan x

Mine went great ladies, thank you for all your support, it helps so much having everyone's kind words....x

We asked sonographer to guess team pink or blue...she showed us what "could be boy bits" in her words, but not to hold her to it, as only the 20 week scan will confirm! Looks like we might have a little Samuel Grin (we seem quite smitten with that name)

Glad you are all managing your constipation Confused mines awful atm, had 3 sachets of movical 3 days running, and nothing but a hard clump came out yesterday (sorry tmi)
Might go doctors myself and ask for suppositories, I'm only 14&2...I would have thought it wouldn't get 'bad' until a lot further on?

Quick question, when at hospital they checked my bloods, hcg was fine, and they said progesterone was fine...but I saw the number for progesterone, and it was 54, it was 96 at 5 weeks, is it normal to go down so much? Hmm

MyNameIsSuz · 09/11/2015 18:04

Yay, great news Carrie and paws!

I think constipation early on is quite normal, mine was worse at the beginning. Am trying to have at least one peppermint and one green tea a day, and at least one activia! Not sure if it's helping but I feel better anyway, the horrible cramps have gone.

mrsdiddlydoo · 09/11/2015 18:37

No idea about the progesterone but great scan news paws. Did they give any reason for the spotting?

8 weeks! That's super carrie!!

mother no experience of that but it almost sounds a bit like IBS. I do find I bung up some days, and less so other days but usually diet related or I've not been drinking enough

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 09/11/2015 20:49

They couldn't see any bleeding around the sac, so they said that as the cervix is very vascular during pregnancy it could have come from there.

Nousername2015 · 09/11/2015 21:13

paws So pleased to hear all is well with mini paws.

I'm no expert but could the progesterone have anything to do with your placenta taking over some of the hormone stuff?

Marchgirl · 10/11/2015 06:57

Great scan news paws and carrie Grin

cloudjumper · 10/11/2015 13:12

paws I also think that once the placenta starts taking over in the second trimester, progesterone levels might drop (but don't quote me on this!). It's main function is to support ovulation and implantation, so I reckon once those are done, other things take over?

Sam(uel) is also on our list of boys' names Smile

Nousername2015 · 10/11/2015 21:24

Urg, really hate this anxiety now. I've been having quivery type movements for a few weeks, rang the midwife (who had never heard of it), went in to be monitored and all fine. Perfectly happy for a few weeks until today when my bump was literally trying to detach itself from me. It felt like arms and legs were everywhere. Had normal movements since and also calles triage who didn't seem concerned but convinced myself he's in distress and it's all about to go tits up. I always get like this about a week before I'm next due at midwife. Has anyone else had one off bursts of erratic movement?

Nousername2015 · 10/11/2015 21:26

And of course I googled even though I knew it was the worst thing to do Sad

DisneyMillie · 10/11/2015 23:06

Congrats on the good scan paws

I'm now 13 weeks and had dark brown discharge when I went to the loo tonight Sad. Called the midwife and she said just wait and see. Feeling so worried and it's poor DPs birthday tomorrow.

It seems so unfair after a good dating scan last week. Also getting some pains / discomfort. Really really hoping it's nothing.

cloudjumper · 11/11/2015 09:19

nouser I think that at some point bumps almost develop a live on their own! As long as you are getting regular movements, I wouldn't be too worried. I get all sorts of different types - kicks, flicks, taps, Mexican waves... Totally inconsistent. And I despair at counting the kicks, no idea how that's supposed to work! Def stay away from Google!

Disney Ugh, that sinking feeling when you wipe... Hope it stops soon! But brown means it's old blood, so maybe just something due to things developing in there for the coming months? Hope you'll be able to enjoy your DP's birthday.

Nousername2015 · 11/11/2015 12:49

disney It's more likely to be everything stretching than something more sinister. Hope it's eased up and you and dp have a great day.

Thanks cloud, must admit I rang 3 different midwives to run this past them. After the horrible fit type movment he was more active than usual last night. I barely slept and could feel him pretty much all night after some fireworks set him off (no idea if he does move at night as I'm usually sleeping). Then this morning he moved over 30 times between 8am and 9am which was unusual. Mw didn't seem too concerned, she said that if he eas distressed you'd be getting a lot more than a movement every couple of minutes. Then he went very quiet for a couple of hours which also got me stressing and now we seem to have settled back into a more normal pattern. I'm exhausted!!

mrsdiddlydoo · 11/11/2015 12:52

Disney cloud is right. Hopefully its all fine. Can you go in for a scan to check? Peace of mind is everything. Hope its eased a bit. X

nouser I've been getting some crazy kicks and punches and never ending hiccups. I'm sure its all OK but understand the panicking. Best just to get checked out if you are concerned. I do get sessions where baby is clearly awake and having a one person rave in my stomch which is incredibly uncomfortable.

My latest thing is I have the most sensitive stretched belly button and feel like its on fire! Do remember feeling this way with DS but not at 34 weeks. More like 39 weeks. How can something I'm so desperate for hurt so much!!

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 11/11/2015 15:22

disney completely understand your worry, I think the spotting may have something to do with placenta taking over around that time? As we both had brown discharge around the same time, and the placenta takeover is the only thing I can think of due to shift in hormone levels...i had scan and all was fine, obviously when I saw blood I feared the worst, but brown does mean old which is good! Get yourself checked if you need peace of mind, I'm sure all will be fine x

nouser how worrying for you, I think movements vary a great deal due to the strength of baby increasing, baby's probably trying out its new dance moves, but getting yourself checked wouldn't do any harm, and may put your mind at rest x

diddly, perhaps try sudocreme? X
