Congrats on the good scans paws and metal Grin

BumbleBee0 · 16/09/2015 19:26

Great news on your scans paws and metal Grin

That sounds so tough reebok. Really hope it eases for you soon and that time passes more quickly for you.

Hope those of you in the early stages are doing ok. It's such a hard period to get through.

I think I'm having Braxton hicks already! Shock I googled it (of course) and read that they actually start at 6wks but you don't normally feel them til post 20wks, although you can feel them from as early as 16wks. Anyone else noticed these early on? I think I must have a super sensitive womb...Blush

Reebok · 16/09/2015 20:08

Congrats on the scans paws and metal.

Thanks for the kind words. Been throwing up stomach acid this evening. Doesn't seem to end even with the medication I'm on. Feel really down and just sick of this.

Bumblebee you can feel them early on. Friend of mine felt them from 16 weeks.

Marchgirl · 17/09/2015 06:26

So sorry you're going through hg on top of everything else reebok. I had hg when i was pregnant with my dd and it was horrendous, so i feel your pain. Just as you describe, you just can't function. Are you on the hg board? I went on briefly with my last pg and they seemed like a good bunch.

This time I've been on steroids (for high uNK, but i know it is used as a treatment for hg in some cases), and have been much better, though i suspect also this might be a boy, as i feel so much better that it can't be just down to the steroids. I really hope it passes for you soon. How many weeks are you now?

Reebok · 17/09/2015 09:45

Thanks March. Hope you don't have to suffer for too long this time. I'm only 8 and a half weeks so feels like ages to go. Last time I had hg I started to turn a corner by 16 weeks. Yep already on the hg board. Full of wonderful helpful ladies who truly understand.

Marchgirl · 17/09/2015 09:55

Ah good. Glad you've got that support. Last time mine also improved by 16 weeks and after that i was only throwing up 1 or 2 times a day until 20 wks when it stopped completely, so infinitely more manageable. This time the sickness stopped by about 10 weeks and it was just constant nausea after that. Even that had gone away but now is coming back slightly as i wean off the steroids. Is it ondansetron that you're on? I heard it's good stuff. Just remember every pg is different, and it could settle down earlier this time. Thinking about how long you've got left won't help, so just concentrate on one day at a time, getting as much sleep as you can and eating whenever you can (even if you don't feel like it). Forcing food down is utterly miserable but it will help. This time sea bands and ginger tablets have helped me (i laughed at the thought of those even touching the sickness last time), so maybe as it starts to improve they might help. Have you tried acupuncture? The effect didn't last long but it gave me 6 hours nausea free when i was at my peak this time. Big hug x

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 17/09/2015 11:41

Oh you poor buggers! I feel so bad for you both, I have only had the odd wave of nausea so far. But as I'm 6&1, I guess it could start any day now? But the severity of what you guys have sounds really hard to live with, I really hope they can find something medicine wise that'll help at least a little bit? And I hope time speeds up a bit for you xx

Yes March, I'm on ondansetron. It helps to cut down on the vomiting but doesn't take away the all day nausea. Lemonade has been helping a bit with the nausea today but it aggravates my acid reflux. Can't win. Trying to be positive like you say but I keep thinking I will mc again and this will be all for nothing. Not tried acupuncture but I'm honestly considering it right now.

Thanks Paws. I hope so. My sickness had already kicked in by the time I got to your stage so hopefully yours will be ok and not so severe.

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 17/09/2015 18:04

reebok hun, sorry to bug you as I know you're very poorly, but I remember you having worries about the same thing I'm now worrying about! Just looking for a little reassurance really...
Strong period like cramps today, keep expecting to see blood when I go to toilet! The sensible side of me is telling me that it's growing pains, didn't have this with first pg that mc'd mind you it took me till 8-9 weeks to only grow a fetal pole of 4mm with no hb
Panicking thinking impending mc no.3, but just about managing to rationalize my thoughts!

Oh, and what's that 'message removed' thing about? Hmm

Nousername2015 · 17/09/2015 18:46

paws More than likely to be everything stretching a bit to make room for a baby! It's so unsettling though, I hope it calms down soon so you feel reassured.

reebok Flowers for you, hg sounds absolutely awful. Keep drinking that lemonade!

The message removed thing was a random poster trying to crowdfund for fertility treatment I think?

I've just blitzed the aldi baby event and bought muslins and cellular blankets. Now got to live with the feeling of jinxing things all evening!

Tftpoo · 18/09/2015 07:23

Hello everyone, sorry I've not posted much recently. I was finding everything baby related a bit overwhelming for a while.

I'm so sorry for everyone feeling rough. I think I am one of those annoying women who don't seem to get sickness is pregnancy...but don't worry....I am making up for it with near constant diarhoea! I thought you were meant to be constipated in pregnancy but not me! I've stopped taking the multi vits as I think it was making it worse.

melonface · 18/09/2015 09:22

paws sorry to hijack your quesion to reebok bur just wanted to offer my experience! My stretching pains were really painful, so much so they'd stop me in my tracks or take my breath away until they passed. I was terrified! So hard to think that's normal isn't it! I'm now 22 weeks

BeckleinDisguise · 18/09/2015 09:53

Great news on the scans paws and metal!

bumble I have looked into early scans but the place near me don't have a date until about 3 days before my scan at 13 w! I'd really like to get an earlier scan though mainly because we are going to have to tell the children before we go to Eurodisney so they understand why I'm not going on the rides! I didn't want to tell them until after the scan really.

DH has gone from being really cross about the situation to wanting to tell the children (I've said absolutely not, why cause them unnecessary stress?)!

I'm so grateful not to have HG, it sounds awful and you ladies with it have my sympathies! With DD and one of my mmc I had awful nausea which got worse throughout the day, it nearly stopped me functioning it was that bad and lasted from 6 to 16 weeks, that was terrible enough. I hope it passes soon.

My symptoms are fairly different from other pgs. This, of course, makes me worry but as I write this I am wondering if hormones are different because I only
have half a thyroid gland now? Looking forward to Monday when I can get blood tests and hoping the results show my thyroid is coping.

Mummyofonesofar · 18/09/2015 11:46

place marking as I lost the thread, then couldn't remember where I had first found it Blush

11 weeks yesterday and dreading the scan on Tuesday. DP can't make it so taking SIL and a friend. I saw the twins at 8 weeks and all was fine but so nervous something could have happened between then and now.

Allmychildrenhavepaws · 18/09/2015 17:46

Thank you for all the advice and reassurance guys! I know its normal, but it still concerns you when it happens doesn't it Confused

mummy glad things are going ok, fc for scan on Tuesday x

I'm worried about putting on too much weight, I'm already 11st at 5,3! The last stone I put on during the course of the two pregnancies and mc's...i have tried to lose it, but just can't for some reason, feeling really unattractive Sad I'm eating healthy and cycling daily just don't get it? Pffft

mrsdiddlydoo · 18/09/2015 19:12

Lost you all because thread dropped off my active ones.

27 weeks now. Can't frigging believe it. So fed up of constant nausea but at least I'm not throwing up. Wish I was the kind if person who gets excited about babies but still don't believe it's going to happen. Must try harder at being happy, but I guess I worry about what might go wrong still.

34 weeks north! That's brilliant.

Hope everyone has a good weekend x

Reebok · 18/09/2015 20:46

paws sorry for the late response. I've been attached to my sick bowl today...can't keep much down other than ice lollies. Anyway, yes I had the same sort of cramps and I think I had them with dd around the same time too. As everyone else has said I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Likely to be ligaments stretching.

Hope everyone else is ok...(waves weakly and retreats back to safety of the bowl).

CathLill · 18/09/2015 22:09

Hello all, hope you're doing well today. Hope that awful sickness eases soon **Reebok.
I'm sorry but am a bit of a lurker, have been following the ups and downs on here. So, here goes..

I have 2 sons (10&8) and have had 2 second tri mc since (2010 -19 wks spontaneous & 2014-mmc picked up at 20 wk scan).

Am 14 weeks now, on clexane (40ml) and doing okay, with just the odd wobble, hence this post!

I have had brown, sometimes stringy (sorry tmi), discharge since Monday. It's only when I wipe. Also having usual (I think) crampy pains, nothing hardcore though.

I rang my daft arse mw for a bit of reassurance and she told me to go to gp to see if he could hear hb. I went yesterday and he couldn't, but did say it was too early and also that he's never found a hb with Doppler! He said he would refer me for scan if I was worried, but am trying to be rational!!

Also I had brown spotting for a few days at around 10 weeks, scan at 11+4 showed that all was well.

I haven't had this before, regardless of outcome, and it's freaking me out a bitConfused
Sometimes I feel calm, but then not sure.
Sorry to babble.
Should I be worried?

fruitlovingmonkey · 19/09/2015 07:11

Cath I'm sure it's normal but I can understand why you are worried based on your history. Why not take up the offer of a scan now, then hopefully in a few weeks time you will start feeling movement and won't have to worry so much. Remember that your mental health is important too, anything that helps your state of mind is very useful. Fx for a healthy full- term pg and sorry for your previous losses.

Mummyofonesofar · 19/09/2015 07:48

paws I would check with your mw about cycling. I heard it can't be done past the first tri. Also don't worry about weight. I'm getting really round already but have actually lost weight Sad was between 11,1 and 11,3 (5ft 4) but the lay 2 mornings have been 10,13. With twins I read I should put on 5-13 lb in first tri. Trying not to panic though.

cath I would take up the offer of the scan, it's probably nothing but a scan will reassure you. Also mw should be using the Doppler not gp, she is the trained one!!

Treaclepie19 · 19/09/2015 10:15

Hiya ladies, sorry I've been missing so long!
I updated the fb group and completely forgot I never did on here.
Our little one decided to meet us early. Waters broke at 37+3 and he arrived by forceps the next day.
Xander was born on the 2nd September at 3.42am weighing 6lb 15oz.
We are totally in love and just starting to get our routine sorted :)

Thank you so much for all the support while I was pregnant, I would have gone crazy without it!

Tftpoo · 19/09/2015 10:50

Congrats treacle, lovely news!

Nousername2015 · 19/09/2015 11:03

treacle How wonderful! Congratulations Grin
