Good luck with the scan suz.

Thank you carrot and fruit. They weren't happy as know things are difficult financially and that my daughter is quite hard work.

MyNameIsSuz · 26/08/2015 15:29

Thanks everyone, it was in there and moving! Sonographer thought all was fine and i got to hear the heartbeat. I can tell people I'm not just fat! I am of course now worrying about the nuchal results, why I couldn't see its nose, why it wasn't moving as fast as my son did... Oh well. I am happy now!

Marchgirl · 26/08/2015 15:41

Great news suz!

Flen · 26/08/2015 18:35

Brilliant news suz!

Tftpoo · 26/08/2015 19:09

Great news Suz and what a lovely picture.

Lucy61 · 26/08/2015 20:19

Brilliant article, March. There is definitely a cultural expectation that pregnancy in the first trimester should be concealed. It's seen almost as indiscreet or naive to reveal an early pregnancy.

I've had 2 miscarriages. The first mc I hadn't told anyone but my mum that I was pregnant. It was so lonely dealing with the mc; it's not in my nature to go out and tell people when I'm going through a tough time and no one knew I needed their help.

The second mc, I had told close family and a couple of friends that I was pregnant. When the bad news came, I had lots of support.

My policy now is to tell those people who are close to me and who will be happy for me if things go well, or support me if I need a hand to hold.

Babytinx11 · 26/08/2015 21:08

Fab news suz

My day has been a bit pants got to the hospital for my scan this morning and they had moved it to tomorrow without telling meSad

Treaclepie19 · 27/08/2015 00:24

I keep falling off as so busy :( Will try and catch up tomorrow!

MyNameIsSuz · 27/08/2015 05:35

Oh no tinx, that's awful! And they couldn't squeeze you in? Good luck for today!

meganlilly89 · 27/08/2015 06:01

I fell off this thread a long time back. Had my miscarriage end of April/early May. Am now 8 weeks pregnant, will be 9 Saturday. Had an early scan at 7+2 and baby was fine, saw and heard the heartbeat. I now have a water infection and feel quite achy down there and it's turned me into a paranoid wreck! I'm even thinking of booking another scan. Someone please sort me out x

CarrotPuff · 27/08/2015 07:46

Great news Suz, congrats!

Oh no Tinx, how awful of them! Good luck for today!

Poor you megan, do you have any meds to take?

meganlilly89 · 27/08/2015 08:23

I'm on antibiotics. So will clear it up. I'm just super paranoid x

Treaclepie19 · 27/08/2015 09:47

Try not to be concerned megan, ive been on antibiotics pretty much every other week for water infections and all has been fine with baby.

Reebok · 27/08/2015 10:45

Megan hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon. I have been on antibiotics for this pregnancy for ear infection and for the one with dd I had tonsillitis so was on antibiotics then too. The antibiotics are safe in pregnancy so try not to worry...I know it's hard!

Congrats on the scan suz! Good luck tinx!

I ended up telling my family about the pregnancy. Reached with a 'why didn't you tell us' and one of them started saying I should have waited etc etc...still concerned I'm not sick. Know I should be grateful but I'm so worried. I have a lot of trapped wind so burping like mad and get full quickly but also getting hungry often if that makes sense. Will finally call go tomorrow to get an appointment if he can see me. Been putting it off in case I bleed again.

CarrotVan · 27/08/2015 12:34

I just found this thread - so many familiar faces!

I had MCs in May and July and am pregnant again. I had an early EPU scan on Monday and saw a heartbeat and a yolk sac/fetal pole and they dated me around 6 wks. The EPU have also booked me for a 9wk scan and I'm all set with the community midwives for booking in and my 12 wk scan.

This pregnancy feels different from the MCs somehow. I'm gradually relaxing a bit

northdownmummy · 27/08/2015 13:02

Welcome carrott great news on your early scan

meganlilly89 · 27/08/2015 13:17

I have just had a phone call back from a private scan place and they can get me in tomorrow at 9.30am. I don't know whether to go. I have already had a private scan at 7 weeks and everything was fine. I only have 3 weeks to wait until my12 week scans

Marchgirl · 27/08/2015 13:54

Whilst I'm absolutely sure that a water infection will do you and the baby no harm at all megan, I'd say if you are very anxious then go and have the scan. It's not worth putting yourself through another 3 weeks of worry. I have had scans every week or two and it's helped so much with my anxiety. Hugs x

CarrotVan · 27/08/2015 14:02

Will the EPU see you again if you are very anxious? The 9 wk scan they booked in for me was at their suggestion with their reason being to manage anxiety. I must have come across as rather fragile...

mrsdiddlydoo · 27/08/2015 14:42

Megan if it would put your mind at rest I'd go for the scan. But if you feel 3 weeks isn't too long you could always wait. I'd do whatever would help you the most. Hope the antibiotics are doing the trick and you feel better soon.

mrsdiddlydoo · 27/08/2015 14:43

Good luck today baby

meganlilly89 · 27/08/2015 15:54

I have spoken to my gp and epu and I have scan tomorrow morning at 9.40. I did explain that I'm probably just being paranoid and they were fine and understood and didn't mind me bursting into tears on the phone ????

MsGlitterJunkie · 27/08/2015 16:29

Good luck baby I really hope today goes well.

Great news on your scan suz, v happy for you!

Welcome carrot nice to see you here Grin

SO glad you've got a scan tomorrow megan it's great that they are being so supportive, good luck with it.

MyNameIsSuz · 27/08/2015 17:50

Congratulations carrot, I remember you from the ttc thread, so happy for you!

northdownmummy · 28/08/2015 13:39

Not of a work dilemma for me today, my manager just told me that there about to be a job advertised internally at the grade above me. Said he realised that the timing was terrible but I should let the face that I'll be going out on maternity in 6 weeks stop me applying.

It's defiantly a role I want I the future, just worried that I'm suffering to badly from baby brain already to perform at my best in an interview.
Also means that if successful id be returning in July to a new role and more responsibility. I remember how tough it was coming back to work after DD, would this just be making it even harder?
