She sounds like a cow!!

Glad it all went well though Amy!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 08/07/2015 19:28

How rude Amyy! I was told o didn't need a full bladder for 20 week scan.
Some people shouldn't be allowed to be in a people-facing role.

Amyyy27 · 08/07/2015 19:54

I was told the same at my 20w guy she just had some chip on her shoulder. I was last scan of the day maybe she was hoping it would have been a quick one!

onefootinthebed · 08/07/2015 20:57

Amy I'm pleased it went well, I'm sorry about the horrible cow you had to see.

I had a great sleep this afternoon but it has left me so tired. I need to stop laying on my stomache now though.

workadurka · 08/07/2015 21:43

Thanks for all the welcoming messages. Strangely in many ways I feel more relaxed about everything than I did last pregnancy, where even from early on I felt quite anxious or worried something would be wrong.

No symptoms yet, so I'm trying to enjoy it while I can!

That sounds annoying dobby - although useful reminder for me to double check when I get to that point. I think.at my midwives they let you bring your children in if needs be, could you do that?

chasingtherainbow · 08/07/2015 22:23

I have officially lost the plot. Just burst into tears because we've ran out of orange juice. DH has run out to the store. Shock

Who am I!?

dobbythedoggy · 09/07/2015 08:26

work If I have to I'll take dd. But she hates doctors/medical places after so much proding and poking. After a lot of hard work she's just stopped screaming at our gp. For an hour long appointment I think it would be kinder for everyone involved not to have her come. Others she'll have to cope with!

Barbiedoll79 · 09/07/2015 09:21

Amyyy glad all positive news at scan shame about some people!

OP posts:
gennibugs · 09/07/2015 09:32

Glad all was well at the scan. I too was told not to have a full bladder and in fact had to pop out several times to have a wee during the scan! She was probably I'm a rush to go - no excuse though for having a bad manner! X

onefootinthebed · 09/07/2015 11:21

Oh I am so embarrassed I have just got back from the dentist, I have been vomiting in the mornings or sometimes in the evening it is just random, it's more like a gagging thing but if I gag to much I vomit. Anyway dentist puts his fingers and instrument in my mouth,I gag he pulls back, goes in again I gag,he ask if I am ok,I say yes just abit sensitive, he goes back in I vomit practically in his hand. Luckily I don't have to go back for 6 months.

It wasn't my normal dishy dentist so that's a bonus. I can't believe this has happened Blush

Amyyy27 · 09/07/2015 13:46

Thanks all! I've put my big girl pants on today after being really upset about it all last night, my OH just couldn't understand why I was upset when the baby was fine. I think it was just the shock of such a bad experience from something that should have been lovely considering it was good news! I'm still really sore today off all the bloody prodding she done, and he's been quiet today so a little worried. Will see how he is tonight as he is usually most active right when I try and sleep!

Chasing I cried when I couldn't find the little pork pies in M&S! To be fair they have to be gluten free which are difficult to get anywhere near me.. but still.. bleeding pork pies!

Oh onefoot I totally feel for you! I have put off going to the dentist as I have HG and a ridiculous gag reflex anyway and I know I would be sick! Hope they were ok with you, can't be helped!

dobbythedoggy · 09/07/2015 14:42

onefoot if it makes you feel any better I've bitten two diffrent dentisits hard enough to draw blood. I was also sick on a hygenist as a teen, didn't even have an excuse for that one, just a shallow gag reflex.

I also threw up over a woman I worked with when pregnant with dd, not much but I was mortified. She was shooked by it but lovely. Dd has the same name as her and she claims it's to compinsate her for her trauma. I was only 7 weeks at the time and worked with her every day until 38+5!

onefootinthebed · 09/07/2015 15:14

Thanks dobby and Amyy they were very kind with me let me swill my mouth and carried on, luckily I had at t shirt in The boot of my car and a dental nurse went and got it for me.

I have since been cheered on by the fact my car passed its mot, my insurance both car and life has come down now I just have to have this appointment with the school and I'm done for the day x

Amyyy27 · 09/07/2015 15:29

Aww onefoot that's lovely! (well you know what I mean!). Great news about car and insurances. I think my MOT is due right when the baby is! I'm lucky that my OH clarts on with cars a lot so if anything does need doing he can sort it out without me having to stress!

Reminded me we need to sort our life insurance out! Any recommendations? (sorry to be going off topic!)

chasingtherainbow · 09/07/2015 15:58

Ah crap yes we NEED to sort life insurance out. have been saying this since 2010 I WILL do that asap.

onefootinthebed · 09/07/2015 16:40

Well I have looked around on compare the market, quote supermarket, go compare and a few independents. With my bank I am paying about £45 and I think that's shocking so I have a quote for £22 from quote supermarket which gives loads of free benefits. I have been researching it all week so knew what I wanted which helped I think. I did get quotes for £10 but I wasn't really convinced about the terms and conditions.

Car insurance I got it £110 cheaper than last year and I got free break down cover. Thanks to Martin Lewis's tips on haggling.

Ds little nursery visit to meet the teacher was fine they were singing when we got there and he went and joined in. I felt like crying, I'm not sure if I asked everything I needed because of this. How expensive are school bought uniforms though, just as well my car passed the mot Grin.

chasingtherainbow · 09/07/2015 18:32

I haven't the foggiest where to start with life insurance. Having just been burnt on travel insurance when tried to claim I feel a bit out of my depth (i.e in the hideous event either of us need to claim that they won't pay out on a technicality!) Also as we rent where that leaves us. DH could afford to rent without me. . But not the other way around. We hope to buy in the future but cannot guarantee when this will be given littlechasing#2

onefootinthebed · 09/07/2015 19:59

They only reason I looked at my life insurance was because I was doing a check on my bank account to make sure I could save the best I could for when the baby arrives. I was reading a thread the other day and just thought I need to get things in order.
I never had a clue about all this stuff till I met my dh. Now every few months I check everything I am spending or have spent.

chasingtherainbow · 09/07/2015 20:05

I reckon I'm more stressed now knowing exactly what i spend and is in my acc than when I lived in ignorant bliss Grin bad advice

Gr33dyeggs · 09/07/2015 21:28

amyyy I was sore for a couple of days after my 20 week scan and I remember the same with my ds.
Head back in sand over life insurance.

chasingtherainbow · 10/07/2015 10:39

Baby has moved into very low position and his kicks seem to have a whole new level of force today. Ouch!

Amyyy27 · 10/07/2015 11:10

Thanks greedy I am still sore today and he is still quiet :( don't know whether I would sound silly ringing the midwife as only 22+2 and feel like they won't take any notice til 28 weeks!

chasing we are in the same boat as you, renting but can't buy our house for another 3 years. Putting my head back in the sand over insurance... OH can sort it out!

chasingtherainbow · 10/07/2015 11:38

Unless I win the lottory we'll never own this! We're very lucky with a fairly big house. We will be buying a shoe box in someone's garden when the time comes!

onefootinthebed · 10/07/2015 22:12

Have a lovely weekend ladies, I have my last two days off planned to a T.

I feel like I have drank loads today you know that watery tummy feeling yuck .

chasingtherainbow · 11/07/2015 08:26

Are you making slosh noises when you move onefoot? Lol!

I have over done it food wise recently .. feeling nauseated from bbq food last night. And I just hopped on the scales and I think I'm up about 5-7 lbs all together and those must have gone on in the last 3 weeks alone BlushShock
