Hi all, hope everyone had a good weekend.

dobby, so pleased you've made it past that milestone, I found it a real comfort to progress further than my last mc.

stocking, sorry you're going through this, it must be incredibly tough Flowers we're all hear to listen if you need to offload.

onefoot, you picked the right week to go on holiday, gorgeous weather! Glad you're back safe, and had a good, if not relaxing, time.

So, I had my dating scan this morning, 13w1d, official EDD is 10 January. All looking good, scan only took about 5-10 minutes. The NT was 2.3mm, had a Google and this seems a bit higher than I would have liked but still low risk. Had the bloods too, so just wait for the results now.

We were away in Yorkshire this weekend. Walked 12 miles on Saturday and 10 miles yesterday. I am now done in, think I need to learn my new limits Hmm

onefootinthebed · 06/07/2015 13:42

Arh tootle lovely news, if I am right I remember asking about the measurements and the midwife who we seen after the scan said on some womens scans it measures up to 7 or 8, but it is a combination of bloods and measurements. I was really lucky mine came back in a week.

I am off work this week so I can relax this week. I only had to count to 3 once yesterday and use the naughty chair twice so maybe it is just because we were somewhere else.

I am saying I can relax, I have to put my car in for a mot, do my car insurance, life insurance, go the dentist have a nursery appointment.Clean the oven and carpets and have the boiler serviced.

(Well I say clean the oven and clean the carpets but I am using some of my savings to have them done on Thursday, which is also the date of my dentist and mot so I can relax everyday but Thursday).

Bristolian1 · 06/07/2015 14:31

Lovely news about your scan Tootle I'm sure you'll get your combined result in a few days (ours took 3 to come back in the post) and all will be well.

Stocking I'm so sorry you're having a tough time. Hope you've been able to relax a bit at the weekend.

Glad your LO is more or less back to normal onefoot sounds like you've got a busy week off!

I'm treating myself to a few hours of doing nothing on the sofa today. Feet up and Wimbledon on - bliss!

gennibugs · 06/07/2015 21:14

Great news on the positive scans ladies! Grin

stocking I'm sorry to read about you and your H. Hope you are bearing up as best as you can under the circs.

I'm shattered at the moment. My bump was really achy today and I just felt a bit off all day. I would love to take some time off but I really want to save up some leave to use pre due date. I guess if I feel like I need a rest I'll have to take a day or two.

Hope everyone is well. Lovely to see so many progressing slowly but surely.

Lilliana - if you are reading, hope you are ok Thanks

workadurka · 06/07/2015 21:56

Hi, thought i should join.

I've just had a positive pregnancy test today, the first since I found out at 12w scan in April that I had had a MMC and baby had died a few weeks before. Knocked us for six, and in the following month 3 good friends announced pregnancies, and people kept making well meant but very upsetting remarks about not leaving it too long so our children don't have a big age gap etc.

Feeling a very strange mix of excitement and fear. No idea how I'll get through the next few months. But feel lucky to be pregnant after only one period post-MC.

Gr33dyeggs · 06/07/2015 22:27

Welcome worka the worry doesn't go I'm afraid but we're here for hand holding.

Lovely scan news!

Well today at 23+3 I have had to buy 2 maxi dresses because my size 12 maternity trousers I wore all the way up to birth of my ds at 40+9 are too tight Shock. I am going to be huge. The dresses are so much comfier though, if not great for work due to bump emphasis.

Amyyy27 · 07/07/2015 08:21

Tootle great scan news!! Grin

Congrats and welcome to worka! Hope we are able to help with some of the anxiety, but agree with greedy we are all still worriers no matter how far on! It gets bearable though :)

greedy I'm struggling to fit into anything that's not super stretchy... my bump has just gone massive it's crazy!

How is everyone doing? Do we have any scans coming up? I'm back in tomorrow afternoon after they couldn't check his face and heart at the anomaly scan. Starting to get nervous!

chasingtherainbow · 07/07/2015 08:25

Welcome worka! Congratulations. It's a scary time but I'm glad you've found us.

People say shitty things sometimes. Even though they don't mean it. My mother would keep telling me over and over that "we can have another" .. I didn't want another.. I wanted that baby! And almost everyone who knew said "you're so young. You've got time" I felt like my head might explode with thst one. Pregnancy anouncments are very hard. My SIL just gave birth to my nephew, 4 weeks after what should have been mine. It is what it is and the pain of it all is much easier to bare now.. I hope you find that too in time. X

Genni I'm also feeling rubbish atm and lots of sore bump - ness. Rest up If you can. I've got the rest of the week off once I'm home at 8pm tonight. I can't wait to nap while dd is at preschool.

Greedy maxi dresses are the way to go! I got some for 12 squid from H&m

chasingtherainbow · 07/07/2015 08:26

X post Amy! Good luck tomo. I'm sure hes just perfect Flowers

I'm gonna book a 4d gender check for next month so dd can see him. X

Romeolovesjuliet · 07/07/2015 09:51

Great news tootle. My nuchal measurement was 2.1 ish with DD and I remember thinking it was higher than I would have liked but the combined result was 1:6500 or something like that. Try not to worry it is well within the normal range.
I agree, people say rubbish things. The worst was my MIL after my first MC telling me it was 'just like a heavy period'. Err no! And you would think she would have had more understanding as she had a mc herself in between DCs.

Romeolovesjuliet · 07/07/2015 09:51

Good luck for tomorrow Amy, I'm sure all will be well Smile

onefootinthebed · 07/07/2015 10:11

amyy good luck for tomorrow.

Welcome worka.

I have woken up with the itches all over I have had two cold showers, my boobs are the worst. Are anyone's boobs still acheing?

I remember when I was little my nan and grandad had a stick which was a backs rather and shoe horn I could do with one of them now.

chasingtherainbow · 07/07/2015 11:46

My itchy boobs will be the end of me. They're covered in little scabs where I keep breaking the skin. I keep trying different things but they're just SO itchy.. the sore aches come and go though.. I'm very veiny too. So attractive.

Amyyy27 · 07/07/2015 12:35

Thanks ladies! X

Sorry to hear about the itchy boobs! Mine aren't itchy but recently my nippes have become very sore! Blush

Bristolian1 · 07/07/2015 15:02

My boobs are itchy too! Horrible feeling.... Mine are also still painful (17 weeks here) and I think they have grown again! They are massive!

chasingtherainbow · 07/07/2015 16:02

Has everyone pretty much announced their pregnancies now?

onefootinthebed · 07/07/2015 16:23

I have chasing,I'm in full maternity get up today aswell, so comfortable.

I imagine its the milk and everything getting ready in our boobs but bloody hell it hurts. I remember when I stopped breastfeeding, I hadn't lasted as long as I had wanted but it was like I had two bowling balls in my bra solid and heavy. I remember thinking labour wasn't as painful as having sour boobs at least it didn't last as long.

I have had a lovely day buying a fish tank for ds who was 3 last week lunch out and bought some plants for the garden. Just going to rest for 1hr then go in the garden. Hope you are all having a good day.

chasingtherainbow · 07/07/2015 16:35

I'm desperately hoping bfing isn't as hideously painful difficult to establish this time around. We got there and I did manage 16 months, but god that first month. I don't know how I did it.

Someone promise me it'll be easier this time!?

Barbiedoll79 · 07/07/2015 16:48

Congrats tootle
Welcome wonka :-)
Stocking hope you're ok
Good luck tomorrow amyyy look forward to hearing scan news
Chasing they really do- I kept getting "well at least you know it was never a baby" with our mmc
I remember telling my hubby if someone else says it they're getting it and when the next person tried he stepped in and explained to us it was always a baby... Our baby!
Enjoy your time off chasing :-)
I am in the process of telling the pstents of the children I look after and then will be announcing to friends family etx at the end of the week :-) can't wait!

OP posts:
Romeolovesjuliet · 07/07/2015 16:49

I agree, I would take the pain of labour over that of milk coming in any day!
chasing, I found that my body adjusted to BF far more quickly second time around. It wasn't as sore to begin with, any pain settled quickly, my milk coming in wasn't quite as dramatic and my supply seemed to adjust very quickly so I don't remember that awful feeling of engorgement happening other than maybe at the very beginning. And, probably most importantly I was just generally more relaxed which I think helps a lot. (Note to first timers, I realise I am probably not selling BF with the above but I actually loved it and didn't have any real problems and fed both of mine up to their first birthdays!).

Romeolovesjuliet · 07/07/2015 16:51

We will tell people after our scan next week but I am delaying telling work as I am so scared - this will be my third mat leave since 2012! Also delaying telling our nanny as I don't want her to just leave as we would be stuck. Not sure how long I can delay that for though and also means we can't tell DD as she would blab. So we will probably just have to tell her soon after scan and plead with her to stay with us until the end of the year!

chasingtherainbow · 07/07/2015 16:53

Oh yes totally agree with Romeo! The first month was very hard- but we had latch issues which caused very damaged Nipples so could have been avoided if someone had sodding looked after me properly noticed in hospital. But there was a very deep fierce determination to do it and it was so rewarding when we cracked it. It's one of my proudest parenting achievements. But I'd like a smoother ride this time please

Barbie I forget are you a CM

I officially start mat leave next week
omg!
I've got a few odd days here and there left for another family but yup. Smp starts next month so it's pretty much here. Eeeeeeep

chasingtherainbow · 07/07/2015 16:55

Romeo just be super crystal clear with nanny- she will want to stay as long as poss but will worry about being left with no job. I'm sure she'll be excited for you though! Presumably you won't need her when on mat leave?

Barbiedoll79 · 07/07/2015 16:55

Congrats on Mat leave soon chasing how fantastic :-) x

Oh and most importantly we decided on a girls name, do you like Olivia Edith. Although for some reason I think I am having a boy and this is were we are stuck.
