Good luck for scans today mrsD and gr33dy

[waves] to new faces

little hope your appointment is helpful, let us know how you get on, realising slowly that I need to start absorbing information, just seems to be sinking in that I am pregnant (at nearly 24 weeks it's about time!)

topsy yey for kicks Grin

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/06/2015 10:46

Welcome Tiger!

Little I had my 34 week appointment a couple of weeks ago and baby is breech but they didn't seem too concerned. I think they only start to take it seriously at 36 weeks so I will find out in a couple of days.

Whooping cough should be done from 28 weeks so I would get it done as soon as possible. I had to do mine through the doctor's surgery so the midwives don't always get involved. You still have time though.

First day of maternity leave today, or at least 3 weeks annual leave before maternity kicks in.

good luck with the scans!

welcome to all the newbies wishing you lots of luck for a healthy pregnancy!

envious floradix is a great natural iron supplement. You can get tablets or liquid and it doesn't make you constipated like iron supplements

northdownmummy · 15/06/2015 13:40

Welcome to all the newbies, this really is a very supportive group of ladies. Hope you have such a boring time you won't need it, but we're always hear to listen to worries cause we've all had/got them too.

I'm pretty sure I'm developing PGP. What had started as getting achey by the evening is now just uncomfortable all the time. Dr Google tells me my symptoms are spot on and I've spoken to my community's wife this morning who very helpfully is writing a referral to a physio. Fingers crossed it's not a long wait

Littlelady33 · 15/06/2015 14:08

34wk appt all fine, good heartbeat and my measurements are normal. Whooping cough vaccine I do need to get from GP but have time. Mw reluctant to commit to baby's position though, so I'll find out at 36wk appt. She indicated that the feet were under my rib cage so hopefully he'll be the correct way round in time! She talked about ECV but I'm not keen on the procedure from what I've heard. May do some more research just incase.

brickiemum2 · 15/06/2015 15:43

I'm having a major wobble today. Having a scan on Friday at 10+1 and every time I think about it I burst into tears. I feel so down and so convinced it's going to be another mmc. Now I've convinced myself that I subconsciously know that the baby has died. I actually feel on the verge of abject panic.

Treaclepie19 · 15/06/2015 16:14

Great news llama and little :)

North pgp is horrible :( I've been suffering from it with no relief but my physio has been a bit useless.

Well after another sunday of no baby movements we went to triage again last night. Heartbeat all fine but they sent me for a scan today.
He was fine on the scan too :)

Still not feeling anything. Got to see consultant on Wednesday, they said if he's not moving in between then go back but it seems a bit silly when I've only just had a scan to check him?

brickie I know how you are feeling, we had a private scan at 9 weeks and I had convinced myself that the baby had died... lo and behold a heartbeat when we got there :) Now 18+5 and had a scan on Saturday and he's still fine :) I think its maybe a defence mechanism we have after MC to try and soften the blow just in case. I hope you have a great scan on Friday x

Amyyy27 · 15/06/2015 16:21

8 weeks sorry**

Littlelady33 · 15/06/2015 17:07

Brickie I'm so sorry you're feeling that way I had similar moments before my 12wk scan and several times afterwards. The defence mechanism seems to kick in to convince us that something has gone wrong again.

broodylicious · 15/06/2015 17:35

little, you've reminded me that I need to book my wc jab! Thank you! And re ecv - I read a very sad thread on MN recently and I will not ever ever be doing it. I'll be doing a section if baby is breech. Need I say more....?

Zeuxippe · 15/06/2015 18:19

brickie I can completely empathise. Not had any scans yet this pregnancy (currently 11+5) as I've had so many awful ones in the past. I keep having nightmares that either there is no baby in there and I've made the whole thing up or that the baby has died. I really hope your scan on Friday goes ok Flowers

Littlelady33 · 15/06/2015 18:26

Broody I very probably saw the same thread - a poor lady lost her baby due to ECV, she's launched I think a campaign to draw awareness to the risks and to call for improved monitoring. Obviously hope to avoid c section but made it clear to mw today that would be my preference. May try some baby turning sitting positions in the meantime however - on a day to day basis I do tend to think his head is quite high up still.

Nousername2015 · 15/06/2015 18:29

I feel for you brickie (and also feel the same as you!) 8+4 here today and convinced myself that I had brown discharge, which is how my mc started. Absolutely nothing since and wondering if it's all in my head as I've got a scan booked next week.
Stay strong, you'll get there. The odds are still overwhelmingly in your favour and we're all here to listen to your worries. Flowers

Littlelady33 · 15/06/2015 18:34

Sorry I also meant to say re PGP - in seeing a great osteopath who is helping me with upper back pain, if any of you are North London based or close enough to travel PM me and I can pass on details.

Gr33dyeggs · 15/06/2015 18:42

All looking ok at the 20 week scan Smile Stayed team yellow.

broodylicious · 15/06/2015 19:00

Yes little, that's the one. Such a sad story wasn't it?

Great news greedy!

mrsdiddlydoo · 15/06/2015 19:06

Scan all good. 13+4. Had to wait a g e s ...

Great news greedy I'm impressed with you staying team yellow. I just have to know! Control freak Smile

Littlelady33 · 15/06/2015 19:14

Devastating story. Great news greedy and Mrs diddly!

Amyyy27 · 15/06/2015 19:18

Great news on the scans ladies! :)

I also read that thread and will definitely avoid. Heartbreaking.

Nousername2015 · 15/06/2015 19:24

What a cute scan gr33dy, such a cute little button nose!

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/06/2015 19:26

I saw that story too, absolutely devastating. I would have refused ecv anyway this time (though we were about to do it last time when I knew less about it) but that would cement that decision.

Great news on the scans!

Metalhead · 15/06/2015 19:42

Great scan news all round ladies! Good luck for Friday brickie, I think it's only natural to be expecting the worst.

Sorry I haven't posted much the last few days, I'm slowly but surely losing the plot waiting for my Harmony results, but am still lurking.
