That was meant to say not having to stuff my face...

CarrotPuff · 08/07/2015 15:07

Welcome newbies from a newbie Wink

Sorry can't remember who said what but gl with your CS today Purple!

Hope sickness goes away for those suffering, or at least gets a bit better so that you can still eat but still feel reassured!

Not telling anyone going ok so far - I did pretend drinking the first evening and DP had my drink - no one noticed. So now they all just assume I'm drinking when we are going out (me and DP). Got another 10 days but we will be away for 3 of them, so fx.

Peeing loads so a lot of opportunities for tissue examinations Grin and feeling really tired today, to a point I want to cry. All good signs though. Boobs are getting a bit more ouchy and fuller too. Tomorrow is my first mini milestone as I'll be 5w - that's when the baby stopped developing last time... Although symptom wise I feel I'm quite further along already Confused

Rebeccaelizabethxo · 08/07/2015 15:35

metal I'm in the same boat as you, I'm 19+6 today and I worry about movement on a daily basis, I've only felt the odd movement here and there for the last few days, whereas end of last week I felt loads Confused I'm putting it down to having been very busy and not having the time to notice movements. The worry never ends does it. I've gone past knicker watch and on to movement watch (even though I know it's far too soon!) god help us all and the incessant worrying we all seem to have to deal with !!

Metalhead · 08/07/2015 16:16

Indeed Rebecca! I'm sure I'll find something new to worry about right until the end of this pregnancy. On a positive note, the little pickle finally decided to wake up and give me a few nudges about half an hour ago, so panic over for now.

broodylicious · 08/07/2015 19:53

baguettes, sorry to hear you're suffering with your sickness. It's so horrid. With dd, my sickness stopped at 16/8 weeks. This time....I'm so sorry to say this...... It was still going strong at 28 weeksConfused I had a brief respite until 32 weeks...then it came back with a vengeance for about a week/10 days before disappearing again. This last week (38), I've been very nauseous but not sick. Delightful hey?! I'm hoping this will equate to a very easy newborn stage after a cheeky stage in uteroWink Hope you're feeling better soon and you don't get all this!

metal, my mw told me not to worry about looking for movements until week 24 and patterns from around week 28. It's easy for them to say "baby is still small, they have a lot of room to hide in" but I found it very disconcerting to feel lots of movement one day then virtually nothing the next. This fear does not get easier even at the late stages as I'm sure plenty of other ladies will tell you!

Baguettes · 08/07/2015 19:59

Omg broody...28 weeks?! I'm soooooo hoping this nausea buggers off before then. Sorry to hear it's hung around for so long Flowers

Another quick question - us preggos can take paracetamol, right? Confused

Nousername2015 · 08/07/2015 20:05

Yep. Totally fine and its what the gp/mw would recommend if you asked.

Nousername2015 · 08/07/2015 20:09

I think the recent hoo hah in the media was about continued use but taking it for a headache is considered infrequent.

Gr33dyeggs · 09/07/2015 07:14

baguette I had sickness and nausea on and off until 22 weeks. I still need to eat often in the morning to keep it at bay.

Paracetamol is still recommended to reduce fever and pain I believe.

Zeuxippe · 09/07/2015 09:12

Morning everyone! Gosh, lots of scans happening today I see! Good luck to nouser, brickie and imnotawitch!! Will be thinking of you, let us know how you get on.

baguettes I felt nauseous all day from six weeks then nauseous with quite a lot of vomiting from 8 to 10 weeks. After ten weeks it settled down a bit so I was still being sick but not as much and not feeling nauseous all day either. From around 13 weeks it's mainly just retching if I'm active or don't eat regularly but this is still continuing at 16 weeks.

purple I hope your cs went well and you now have a little baby!

Halfway through my wait for the Harmony test results - I never knew time could pass this slowly!!!

Nousername2015 · 09/07/2015 12:00

Well all is well with mini nouser although s/he was a bit naughty and wouldnt get into position for a good pic. Managed to get one after a bit of digging in from the sonographer though, he said he'd never seen a more wriggly baby. Hopefully this doesnt mean naughty in real life!
Must admit, I did well up a bit walking into the antenatal dept after only ever seeing epaus before.
Good luck to all others with scans today.
How are you feeling today baguettes?

mrsdiddlydoo · 09/07/2015 13:15

purple hope you are OK!

brickiemum2 · 09/07/2015 15:16

My actual scan was great as in baby is well and measuring slightly ahead. New due date 9th Jan for anyone who takes on stats (I can't on kindle, I would end up throwing it out of the window lol)
I on the other hand have a few complications.....no longer immune to rubella (work in a school), group b strep, high bp so home with a monitor and starting on daily aspirin and a large fibroid in my uterus. The joys lol Grin

Thepurplegiraffe · 10/07/2015 07:41

Hi all
Thank you so much for all your well wishes, baby girl was born on Wednesday morning weighing 8lb 3! I had a bit of a meltdown when they told me they had made a mistake and there was no morning list but they managed to fit us in and she was born at 10.37am. We are taking a while to choose the name but should have an idea later today.

The op itself was definitely more traumatic than last time as they had trouble reducing my uterus but overall everything went well and we managed to get discharged at about 8pm last night, I am so glad to be home!

Baby has not stopped feeding, or wanted to be put down since being born so it's pretty intense so far. Her sister will be back in a couple of hours so that will be interesting.

Hope everybody else is doing ok.

brickiemum2 · 10/07/2015 08:15

Welcome to the world babygiraffe. You might not want to use that as an actual name though Wink
Congratulations x

cloudjumper · 10/07/2015 08:33

Congratulations purple and welcome to baby purple! Lovely news xxx

cherrylola · 10/07/2015 08:43

We have our anomaly scan next week, can't believe it's come round already! Really really feeling the preggo symptoms now, went into work yesterday to a barrage of crappy emails as the shit had hit the fan whilst I was on holiday for a few days. I cried at my desk, so embarrassing Confused

Treaclepie19 · 10/07/2015 08:51

Congratulations Purple :) Glad she's here safely xxx

Huge congrats Purple! Xx

goodbyeyellowbrickroad · 10/07/2015 11:22

Congratulations purple! Hope the introduction of the sisters goes well.

I seem to have forgotten the hideousness that is excess saliva from when I was pregnant with DS. It's truly disgusting. Does anyone else suffer from this and have any helpful tips/cures?

CarrotPuff · 10/07/2015 12:31

Congrats Purple! Welcome to the world miniPurple!

ImnotawitchImyourwife · 10/07/2015 12:40

Congratulations purple! Lovely news Flowers

Anomaly scan went well, everything looks great, although I'm slightly unnerved by the fact he's measuring on the 97th centile given I'd just decided to go for a VBAC!
Just as well we'd already decided we wanted to know and found out his sex a couple of weeks ago as he was definitely in a showing off mood. Good to have it confirmed so definitely though as we had just finally managed to convince DS it's a boy (apparently he was still telling the staff at playgroup that it's a girl several days after we'd found out otherwise). I had a dream the other night that I gave birth to a girl after all and DS was very confused and annoyed.

Sympathies on the saliva issue goodbye. Can't say I really notice it through the day, but I turn into a total drool monster in my sleep. No tips really other than to say I bought a cheap pillow and a few plain pillowcases. It's still disgusting, but at least I'm not ruining my nice down pillow and linen!

Thepurplegiraffe · 10/07/2015 13:48

Thanks everyone, I think we have finally decided on Jessica Anna Rennie for a name.

mrsdiddlydoo · 10/07/2015 13:52

Beautiful name purple lots of congratulations to you and your family!!

Littlelady33 · 10/07/2015 14:25

Three hours away from the start of maternity leave! Just had lovely lunch in the sun with colleagues - feeling very real and quite scary now.
