Could I join you please? Just got my first BFP after MMC 2 years ago.
Not even told DP yet, at work, in a state of shock.
Looks like the new bathroom is going to have to wait a while.

happygojo · 07/07/2015 12:02

Welcome Q congrats on your BFP! The first few weeks are so scary but I hope you have an uneventful and trouble free pregnancy. The odds are in your favour xxx

Littlelady33 · 07/07/2015 18:07

Congrats Q and welcome!

Clo88 · 07/07/2015 18:39

Hey guys I have just joined this group as something amazing has happened me today, 6 weeks after a miscarriage (my 3rd but a gorgeous girl in between) I have tested positive again :) in shock can't believe it, have had no period since my miscarriage, must of got preg two weeks after? So not sure how far I am until my scan. Hello and good luck to all im so happy shocked scared x

Nousername2015 · 07/07/2015 18:42

Welcome Q and Clo and congrats. Hope these pregnancies are very boring and uneventful!

goodbyeyellowbrickroad · 07/07/2015 18:50

I'd like to join please! After 2 miscarriages this year I'm now 6+6. Feeling very anxious at the moment as its around this stage that my last miscarriage happened. I'm booked in for a private dating scan at 8 weeks for some reassurance.

I'm feeling incredibly nauseous but thankfully not sick yet (with DS1 I had awful sickness from week 7 til 18). I've gone from eating hardly any carbs to mainlining pasta and white bread.

brickiemum2 · 07/07/2015 18:58

Welcome and congratulations to the newbies Grin
I've got my first consultants visit and (should be 12 but I'm 13.5) week scan tomorrow. Quite worried as my booking blood pressure was recorded as so high. They want me on daily aspirin but I can't take aspirin so who knows what the solution will be. They may also give me a date for early induction due to my previous pih, big babies, fast deliveries and gbs. Only thing is, that would put it right at Christmas which would be tricky lol.

Gr33dyeggs · 07/07/2015 20:47

Wow - an influx of newbies Smile Welcome Q clo & goodbye I hope you have a boring 7 / 8 months here.

I can't believe you're nearly there happy & littlelady Enjoy the rest before babas arrive!

Hope tomorrow goes ok brickie.

cavamonster · 07/07/2015 22:17

Welcomes newbies!!

Exciting little and happy not long now!

I'm giving in next week at 33 weeks, I've came to realise I lost my concentration span somewhere a few weeks back!! Comically, I was sat in our regional meeting last week thinking I don't need to know any of this, fast forward two days later my colleague has went off sick and I now need to deliver the meeting tomorrow to his team - really wish I'd listened now oops! Grin

brickie slightly random but I was told kiwi fruits have the same qualities as aspirin but in natural form - don't know if that would help!?!?

brickiemum2 · 07/07/2015 22:25

I've been eating kiwi fruit and fresh pineapple daily for the last month just in case it's true cava lol.

happygojo · 08/07/2015 06:26

Good luck purple! I think it is today you are having your ELCS. I hope everything goes super smoothly. Xxx

Hello newbies, may you all have totally boring pregnancies. The ladies on here are great, they really helped me get through, especially the first super scary weeks!

Nousername2015 · 08/07/2015 07:05

Best of luck purple, hope all goes well and looking forward to your update.

I'm 12 weeks today! Feel like its some kind of little victory.
Hope everyone has a good day, enjoy the last couple of days those who are finishing for mat leave this week.

Treaclepie19 · 08/07/2015 08:46

Hiya and welcome newbies :)

Eek purple, good luck. Hope all goes well :)

Congrats on your 12 week milestone nouser :)

I can't believe ill be 30 weeks on Saturday. Off to the midwife this morning and having my whooping cough injection.
Busy busy!

OP posts:
happygojo · 08/07/2015 09:08

Treacle get the injection in your right arm (if you are sleeping on your left), but it isn't too ouchy, just a bit of a dead arm for a few days. I felt a bit pants in the evening after the injection, but it could've been completely unrelated and I felt fine the next day.

We need someone to take over doing stats. I am hardly ever on a proper computer and only have 5 weeks left. Is anyone happy to volunteer?

Baguettes · 08/07/2015 09:37

Welcome to the newbies! Congratulations Grin

I can't believe we have more babies due in the next few weeks...so exciting. Good luck to all those on the home run!

brickie fingers crossed for your scan.

Those who are a little further on - when did your nausea stop? Envy I'm nearly 11 weeks and hoping the sickness might stop soon...

Littlelady33 · 08/07/2015 09:41

Baguettes somewhere not long after 12 / 13 weeks I had a good long spell without nausea, appetite returned and it was flipping great. Mw told me that on average it passes for women by 15wks. We're all so different though and I know a few women on here were sick throughout. Mine came back around 35wks and no sign of disappearing - but I think it's just having a squished stomach! And personally I find it easier to take at the end knowing there's not long left!

Baguettes · 08/07/2015 09:42

Thanks little. It disappeared by 14 weeks with DS so I'm hoping for the same this time around!

Littlelady33 · 08/07/2015 09:45

That's likely then baguettes. Tbh I was so worried about the pregnancy being viable that I was happy to feel so sick early on in a way. Once I had seen the baby at 12wks I was pretty happy for that feeling to pass!

Baguettes · 08/07/2015 10:03

I was totally the same! I am still very reassured by the nausea. I would never moan about it for a second. Just looking forward to enjoying food again I bloody love food Grin

Nousername2015 · 08/07/2015 10:14

baguettes I'm still suffering at 12 weeks. To be honest I'm a bit reassured (even though I know it doesn't mean anything) but I'm very much hoping the end is in sight. I'm pinning my hopes on it disappearing in a couple of weeks!

happy I'll tentatively volunteer to give a hand with the stats but I'll see how my scan tomorrow goes first.

Metalhead · 08/07/2015 10:21

Welcome to all the newbies!

Good luck today purple and also brickie.

baguettes my nausea gradually improved from about 14 weeks I think, by 16 weeks I was feeling mostly ok and now I just get the occasional headache-induced bout of nausea in the evening. Definitely lasted longer this time than with DD1 though!

Feeling slightly disappointed that, after having a right old kick-fest on Monday, baby seems to be a lot quieter again. I take it it's too early to worry about regular movements at 18 weeks...? I'm tempted to ring the midwives just to see if they would listen to the hb, but I probably shouldn't give in to the paranoia.

Treaclepie19 · 08/07/2015 11:10

Oh no happy! I got it in my left. Oops haha.

I don't mind doing the stats either, just let me know :)

Measuring at 30 weeks (29+4), heartbeat fine, blood pressure fine, blood results fine :)

Managed to talk to her about vaginismus and how it might affect birth. She wants me to have a double appointment in 2 weeks (meant to be 3 but we're on holiday) to discuss a birth plan and if we think I'll really struggle I can opt for an elective c section.
Lots to think about but relieved now I've mentioned it.
Feeling confused though the more I try to think about it!

Welcome to the newbies. Wishing you uneventful pregnancies.

Thinking of you today purple. Hope everything goes well and you're enjoying your newborn snuggles soon.

Good luck with the scans tomorrow brickie and nouser. I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow too and despite having a private scan less than two weeks ago, which showed everything was fine, and feeling generally a lot more positive, am still Having a bit of a spike in my anxiety levels. Wonder if I'll ever really believe it's going to work out this time!

dobbythedoggy · 08/07/2015 12:49

Having a bit of a wobble this morning.

Was expecting to have an early booking in appointment this morning following seeing the gp last monday. But surgery had canceled it without informing me! Have rebooked for next week, but feeling rather low after spending a few days getting mental ready for going and filling in the first bits of maternity notes.

Part of me really isn't sure if I want to stay with the suergery anymore as the admin side of things appears to be so awful. Our gp is usually really good, obviously doesn't know everything but will refure and ask for second oppinions, and has worked hard to make doctor hating dd comfortable when she's there. The midwife I had last time was amazing, very kind and reassuring. I can always get a same day appointment when needed even if phoning mid afternoon. But I had to chace and chace for the details of my referal to epau when I was misscarrying, almost missed the appointment as they hadn't passed on my contact details. Now this.

There a few other surgeries locally, one much closer. But not sure if they are as efficent medically as out current one.

cloudjumper · 08/07/2015 13:02

dobby Your GP surgery sounds like mine - great doctors, rubbish admin. When I turned up for my booking appointment, they had absolutely no clue where to send me, it was a right faff. Have you considered writing an official complaint to the manager of the surgery?

baguettes I'm now nearly 15 weeks, and the nausea is tapering off - finally! I still have to make sure that I eat regularly, otherwise I start feeling yuck, but it's so much better than even 4 weeks ago. I'm the opposite, I'm looking forward to being able to having to stuff my face every 2 hours! I've put on so much weight in the 1st trimester already Confused
I still start feeling sick when I'm tired, too.

nouser Congrats on your milestone! Hopefully, you'll be able to relax a little bit from now on.

Good luck today purple and brickie

I've told my line manager that I'm pg yesterday, and she will check with HR about the next steps. Guess it's now official... But I'm not planning to tell the rest of the company yet, hopefully, I can get a few more weeks under my belt before it all becomes too obvious (currently wearing floaty scarves as often as possible...)
However, we have a team social next week, and guess what we'll be doing? ! Wine tasting Angry Really not sure if and how I can get out of that one, other than faking some illness on the day... sigh
