I'm 38+2, if the baby hasn't made an appearance by next weekend I'm being induced.

DH is convinced the baby is going to come early and every time I have a tummy cramp he is practically one foot out of the front door with the hospital bag!

I think I'm going to be phenomenally bored over the next two weeks as I am having quite strong pelvic pains so walking and moving about is really quite painful.

Anyone else on the final countdown?

Had a sweep and stretch today was told i was already 2cm have been having pains all day. Hope something comes of it.

I will be having my section tomorrow, can't believe how quick this week (especially today) has gone. I am bloody terrified now, stupid I know, considering I have had 2 sections previously. But this time I am probably going to have a spinal and not GA, that's if I don't back out, just telling myself I have to be strong.

No news to report-had to get another pessary because it had got dislodged which happens but then EVERY other woman in the bay has gone into labour!
Feel like Rachel in Friends when she isn't even a wee bit dilated and women are giving birth before they are even through the door!

hi all, can I join? I'm 38+1 and have already been off work for 3 weeks. Practically we are about ready now, though still got lots of DS's old baby clothes to wash after getting them out of the loft. Am not short of things to do but can't do very much as baby now feels very heavy! Am physically very ready for baby to come but mentally am still slightly in denial

Hope things have progressed lilmiss??? I've been having having painful tightenings ALL day every 4/5 mins. Really hoping they don't stop.

Please can I join! I am only 36 + 2 but due to reduced waters they won't let me go past 38 weeks. I am being induced at 38+1 after a sweep at 37+6. I am a bit scared tbh.

This is my second labour, my first was very fast 3 1/2 hours following a second sweep. I went from nothing to everything very quickly! I'm just worried because it's early and I want her to be big enough and not have problems.

pickle welcome. Pull up a pew. This is is my first so no good advice for you. Hopefully baby will be absolutely fine though

hello pickle. I wouldn't be worried - by the time you get to 38wks, baby will only be roughly 1lb lighter than if born on DD. Very unlikely to cause any problems welcome to the waiting club!

Thanks everyone. I know I'm just overthinking things.
I have had a dreadful nights sleep. Because I have less waters her movements are very noticeable and painful! They also trigger lots of braxton hicks which hurt! I think that's because they squeeze my poor pelvis (spd).

How are we all this morning? Any more movement overnight?

Well it's due date today.

I woke up at 4am thinking about whether baby would come so I'm very tired today.

I'm feeling a bit restless and emotional, don't really know what to do with myself. I've been nesting lots and I'm fed up of cleaning now but feel guilty sitting around (which I know is stupid).

Ds1 was early so I'm entering the unknown now.

How is everyone?

I'm still in hospital without baby sadly. Induction seems to have failed ( had pessary and balloon catheter) so waiting to see what the doctors say. They have mentioned that I should come back in next week and start it all over again.

40+12 today. Well and truly fed up now lol induction on Sunday though! I am sending positive labour vibes to you all, i have finally succumbed to the idea that i will not go into labour on my own!

pyjama, it's weird going past your EDD isn't it? Silly really, as it's kind of arbitrary, but we do set a lot of things by it!

I am term plus 9 - keep thinking something is going to start soon but then stops :(
Had a sweep on thursday which did buggar all - cervix was still high and couldnt get in properly but on the plus side felt soft and ripe.
Have induction booked for wednesday, its also my daughters birthday on Tuesday so hoping baby comes either before or holds till wednesdays induction!!

Mucus plug!! Yay just had a few sizable bits so fingers crossed! Normally font have a show until late labour or don't see it (baby 4) Feeling slightly crampy not contractions but hoping will go into labour any time soon. Am already 10 days over latest being 11 days so fingers crossed!!

Thought it all started today after being up since 2am with painful contractions. Live 40 mins away from hospital so drive was eventful! got there and everything stopped :( sent home since then been having painful contractions but really irregular.
Due for induction tomorrow so fingers crossed.
Baby is slightly back to back (over on the right side) so every pain am feeling is loads of pressure.
Glad to be in home comforts though plus its my daughters 10th birthday so nice to be able to do her cake etc this eve and she may not have to share her bday afterall! (trying to see the positives lol)
