Anyone else on the final countdown?

I'm 38+2, if the baby hasn't made an appearance by next weekend I'm being induced.

DH is convinced the baby is going to come early and every time I have a tummy cramp he is practically one foot out of the front door with the hospital bag! Grin

I think I'm going to be phenomenally bored over the next two weeks as I am having quite strong pelvic pains so walking and moving about is really quite painful.

Anyone else on the final countdown?

Congratulations Brimfull Thanks Smile

Well it doesn't look like I will be going into labour, he is showing no signs, so will have to have a section on Thursday Sad I had wanted to try and avoid it, what will be, will be, I suppose, I can't do anything else but wait.

Sending lots of luck to everyone who is still waiting Smile

applecore0317 · 01/06/2015 00:34

Congratulations Brimful!!

40+5 now and have another sweep this afternoon, fingers crossed it kicks things off. Am pretty sure I lost the remainder of my mucas plug today.

purplebiro · 01/06/2015 11:32

Hi all - Maeby Jennifer arrived at 5.40pm yesterday at 7lb7oz - not the predicted 9lb that was the reason for induction.

Was given first set of gels at 1.30am yesterday - no contractions or change in cervix but it did cause waters to break and they showed meconium which meant I was fast tracked to the delivery unit and put on oxytocin - from drip going in to delivery was 4.5 hours - a very scary rapid ride but only because it was quick - I felt safe and in control for most of it and was on gas and air only until about 3 hours in (and then one shot of diamorphine, no time for epidural). Most importantly of all - the result is a stunning sweet and calm baby girl we are completely in love with - worth everything. Thanks for all your support over the last week, ladies, and good luck to everyone!

Congratulations to purple Smile

I'm 41 weeks today and still no strong pains..

All the best to everyone else

Koalafications · 01/06/2015 16:09

How is everyone filling their time? I'm bored out of my mind, wish I had stayed at work for another few weeks.

Koalafication - it hasn't been soo bad.. I've been off work since 17th April as I had loads of holidays left and new one started from the 1st may.. Instead of going back I thought I'd just take my holidays and start my maternity a week before my due date..

My mum moved in (manc)until I had the baby (I live in bham) so it hasn't been too bad.. Catching up with friends and family.. It's been lovely..
My mum's been my walking partner so been walking to kick start my labour but clearly nothing is working for me ??

OldLadyWhoLivesInAShoe · 01/06/2015 16:29

Can I join, congratulations to Purple and Brimfull well done the wait is over!
I'm 36 weeks today but with twins (so much for all my prem planning) both babies are above 50% centile for a singleton and I am so big I can barely walk

comeagainforbigfudge · 01/06/2015 17:09

I'm bored too. But I couldn't have worked on. Been in agony with spd.

I dont actually know how I've filled my time. Mumsnet probably Grin

Purpleboa · 01/06/2015 17:26

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow. Worried as at my midwife appointment today, my blood pressure was high even after several readings. Also a trace of protein in my urine. Have to go back in 2 days to get it checked again. Midwife v reassuring and said it's really common at this stage bit of course I'm now convinced it's the start of preeclampsia! Even though I don't have any other symptoms. I'm still working so am thinking that could be a part of it. Anyone else had similar?

Congratulations on the new baby announcements, how exciting!

teejayem · 01/06/2015 19:33

Still nothing here aside from the period pain, had a series of quite exciting tightnings yesterday every 30 minutes which then fizzled into nothing. Confused Had rubbish constant upset stomach feeling again today and just feel out of sorts, don't want to leave house, don't want DP to go to work etc.
Congratulations purple! Fx we have another couple of deliveries in the next couple of days

comeagainforbigfudge · 02/06/2015 12:10

I wasn't going to go out today but I really want a Starbucks hot chocolate. Is it worth it? Hmm might just get outdoor clothes on, then feel pooped so have tea instead Wink

How's baby watch coming? I've nothing to report. Lots of bloody painful big movement but no braxton hicks or anything else remotely connected with labour.

Tiredmumno1 · 02/06/2015 12:27

Mmmm Hot chocolate, I am not allowed one Sad i have GD.

Well I had my pre-op today, just 2 days left and now I am freaking out more than before, no signs of it happening naturally here before then.

Tiredmumno1 · 02/06/2015 12:28

I did mean to add that of course the hot choccy is worth it Wink

comeagainforbigfudge · 02/06/2015 17:17

Never got the hot chocolate in the end. Queue was faaaaaaarrrrrrr to long!

Did buy some raspberry leaf tea though. Anyone else drinking/drank it? Is it worth trying?

skiingcat · 02/06/2015 19:51

I've nearly drank my entire supply of raspberry leaf tea and no baby yet! It's actually quite nice.

applecore0317 · 02/06/2015 20:51

Hi, just wanted to reassure those with no real signs, I had none, just a feeling that things might be changing and our daughter arrived yesterday morning after I woke up at 11.45pm to a few dull aches followed by losing some water at 1.30am. She arrived at 7.17am :)

it can catch you unawares. Hope things get moving for you all soon x

comeagainforbigfudge · 02/06/2015 21:10

Aw congratulations Apple

And thank you for the reassurances Grin

I just had a massive solid stomach moment that lasted ages. Hope baby wasn't turning wrong way again!! Relaxing in the bath trying my best not to figure out where head is.

Tiredmumno1 · 02/06/2015 21:41

That's lovely Apple, congratulations Smile

I have never tried raspberry tea, so have no idea what it even tastes like, although I suppose the clue is in the name Grin

Pyjamaramadrama · 03/06/2015 09:58

Congratulations apple!

I'm 38+5, ds1 was here by now but this time I'm getting no signs at all really.

If he's not here by Saturday I'm going to have a very long walk and a hot curry.

I'm happy for him to stay in until his due date but I'm hoping to not go too overdue.

Good luck everyone.

Pyjamaramadrama · 03/06/2015 09:58

Sorry 39+5 of course.

lilmisslibrarian · 03/06/2015 14:39

Countdown has officially begun for me! Induction pessary in place and some mild cramping which they assure me is normal. Feeling a bit teary with it all!
Congratulations to everyone so far!
