Anyone else on the final countdown?

I'm 38+2, if the baby hasn't made an appearance by next weekend I'm being induced.

DH is convinced the baby is going to come early and every time I have a tummy cramp he is practically one foot out of the front door with the hospital bag! Grin

I think I'm going to be phenomenally bored over the next two weeks as I am having quite strong pelvic pains so walking and moving about is really quite painful.

Anyone else on the final countdown?

39+2 here, can't wait to meet our baby, hopefully sooner rather than later, sleeping is uncomfortable now, will all be worth it. Good luck everyone Smile

teejayem · 29/05/2015 08:36

Curry = heartburn all bloody night = no baby = grumpy Tee this morning.

Won't be doing that again!

lilmisslibrarian · 29/05/2015 08:41

Oo can I join? I'm 37 +5 and am being induced next Wednesday and me and DH have decided not to tell anyone in RL and it's killing me!!
Very nervous as this time next week I'll be holding a wee baby and I hope the MWs read my very detailed birth plan as my back and hips are in constant pain!
Will be nice to see my toes again though...!

cocolacocotte · 29/05/2015 09:42

Can I join in please? I'm 40 +6 today and as of today I'll have to go to the hospital for monitoring every 48 hours until the baby comes or until they induce at 41 +5 (I'm in France, they do things differently here).

I was still enjoying being pregnant until last Saturday when I started having back ache, mild cramps and the feeling that I have a bowling ball in my pelvis. Now I just want to move on to the next step.

I had a moment of false hope on Wednesday when I lost a lot of liquid and the baby started moving around like crazy but after 4 hours at the hospital, they sent me home as I was only 1 cm dilated and the contractions were too mild to be active labour. Since then I've got permanent heartburn, I have to pee every 2 minutes and the bowling ball is getting heavier but the contractions have stopped completely and I'm feeling completely fed up.

brimfullofasha · 29/05/2015 13:13

Good luck with the hospital coco. Those moments of false hope are so disappointing. I keep waking up in the night with cramps only for them to disappear by morning.

Had a second sweep today. She had a very good rummage and now I'm cramping and bleeding but not getting hopes up.

Koalafications · 29/05/2015 13:23

Getting my hair done today (a bit of final prep!) and I've been waiting since 9:30 this morning. I've only just got the foils on!

My hands are so swollen and are aching loads... Oh the joys of sitting around for hours on end!

Welcome to all the new arrivals! Hopefully we will have some new arrivals (in baby form!) soon! Smile

Oh my koala that sounds like hell! Hope they been keeping you well entertained!

Spl0ink · 29/05/2015 14:57

Oh hi everybody! I'm 39+4, due date is June 1 (Monday) Had a couple of weird nights now, feeling really achey and a bit sick, thinking maybe he was coming - but nope.

New thing as of maybe a week ago is the return of the gut clenching, bum wrenching constipation, woohoo! Last minute flood of progesterone is all I can conclude. I drink as much water as I can force in, have been taking a twice daily laxative since some time last year and live on fruit and vegetables Sad Ho hum.

Oh well! Nearly there everyone Smile

Koalafications · 29/05/2015 15:36

I didn't even get offered a glass of water and had to ask for a chair comeagain! I missed breakfast because I thought I would be in and out quickly. I was starving! Couldn't leave to get anything or I would lose my place in the queue Hmm

I've just got home. What a day!

comeagainforbigfudge · 29/05/2015 16:48

Aw that's rubbish koala. You'd think they would have taken one look at you and went "you first"

Is your hair fabulous now though? Grin
I'm trying to decide if I should get mine trimmed. But it's sitting nice today and I can tie it up a bit if needs be. Hmm decisions decisions.

Might wait til after the birth then go get it cut and coloured. My skin has been uber sensitive so haven't wanted to risk getting it dyed. But the greys are getting to me now!

Koalafications · 29/05/2015 18:21

I do like it!

I wanted mine done before so that if I wasn't feeling up to leaving the baby for 3 hours I didn't have to. I also wanted it to look decent for the post birth photos! vain Grin

Hope things are going well today Purplebiro.

I've been having what feel like contractions all morning about 10-15 minutes apart. They're not very very painful but they definitely feel different to the cramps I've been having all week. Been for a little walk and am bouncing on my ball trying to make sure they don't fade away. Don't seem to be getting closer or more painful though. Really hope I get to meet this baby soon. My favourite midwife is on call tomorrow so it would be nice to have her here (hoping for home birth).

Koalafications · 30/05/2015 14:04

Ooh fingers crossed labour starts properly for you soon brimfull

Hope it's going well for you today purplebiro

I feel so unfortunate.. I'm 40+5days. I had a sweep but was unsuccessful as my cervix was to long therefore she wouldn't reach the baby's head.. I was gutted and have another one next Thursday. I've been booked in for sat to be induced.. I'm hoping I don't get induced as it's meant to be painful. I started getting slight pains round my pelvic area hoping they last.. I've been bouncing on the ball and will be going out for a walk but when I walk it feels nice and the pain disappears Hmm

leanne963 · 30/05/2015 20:55

Haha koala i was the same, had my hair done a few weeks ago so at least i could feel semi good post labour :P

40+6 here!! Never thought i would be 41 weeks pregnant but here i am haha, serves me right for bragging that i will be early! Hot curry, raspberry leaf tea and bouncing on the ball tonight.....no signs.

Will have final midwife appointment on Thursday to discuss possible induction but i really hope i don't have to go down that route, so little lady had 4 days to get her belongings together and evacuate my uterus lol

purplebiro · 31/05/2015 05:43

Hi all, dispatch from the induction ward where I am pretty bored but hopefully progressing. After a looooong wait to be shown to a bed and seen by a midwife and another loooooong spate of monitoring while the baby's heart rate settled down I was finally examined (still 1cm but cervix moved forward) and first lot of gel given at about 1.30am. Midwife not optimistic about likely progress before the next lot so I settled in for a good night's sleep only to wake up at 4.00am with broken waters! Now having very mild short contractions every 10-12 minutes and trying not to get my hopes up about this turning into established labour. I am wide awake though and DP is happily snoozing in a chair and have promised myself no telly or wandering around until 6am as a "treat" so killing time on MN! Good luck to everyone for the rest of the day incase I don't get a chance to check in (here's hoping!)

teejayem · 31/05/2015 06:00

Ooh, you're on the way purple! Fx it it gets going for you properly soon! Smile Xx

applecore0317 · 31/05/2015 06:03

Good luck purple, hope things progress nice and quickly for you and it's not long till you have littlun in your arms :)

lilmisslibrarian · 31/05/2015 08:20

Good luck purple!

comeagainforbigfudge · 31/05/2015 08:25

Ooh lots of luck purple. Hope things are starting to progress now Smile

Koalafications · 31/05/2015 09:26

Good luck purple

You are lucky your DP has been allowed to stay with you, I'm being induced next Sunday (if the baby hasn't made an appearance already) and I've been told that DH will have to go home at night, unless I'm in active labour.

wonders if purple had her baby yet

Got my scan tomorrow ladies, see if this pesky baby has moved yet. I honestly cannot tell. Might go have some chocolate cake just to help it along....... Wink

brimfullofasha · 31/05/2015 22:46

Any news Purple? Hope it's going well.

DS2 arrived in the early hours of this morning at 41 weeks. Although he was covered in vernix and the midwife said he didn't look overdue. Managed to have him at home in the pool. Seems like that second sweep did the trick. Good luck to everyone waiting.

Koalafications · 31/05/2015 22:58

Fingers crossed for you comeagain

brimfull CONGRATULATIONS! Flowers the first baby of the thread! I'm sure you are pleased he is here.
