I have to have a GD 2 hr test at 27.5 weeks .cos my bmi is over 30. Anyone else?

Amyy got no idea. I feel stronger indication towards boy but I felt the same with dd so it's obviously unreliable Grin

Bristolian1 · 15/05/2015 11:01

Onefoot that is unbelievable! Hope the meeting goes ok and you're able to give em what for! Will you tell them your situation?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/05/2015 11:28

onefoot your workplace sounds yucky. I can't really imagine working with people like that!
One must told me everyone had the gd test her
here but then I read in my notes that it's only is bmi is over 30. Mine's about 27 so hoping to avoid.

No feeling about sex here although I don't believe you can really know. However most likely outcome here is one of each- 50% chance of one of each, 25% two girls, 25% two boys. Purely statistical though.

onefoot that is unbelievable. Hope the meeting goes well.

I am convinced I'm having a boy. no idea why! Grin we probably aren't going to find out so will just have to wait and see! I think we'll be able to agree on girls names but boys names are going to be tricky as DH has very strong opinions on those!

Hi guys

Thanks for the support I am at home as are a lot of the team. My boss, office gossip and two others have been suspended. The newer members of the team who have been made to cry were asked in for a meeting about how they have been treated and some have been too upset to stay but thanked me before they left for saying something as they didn't think they would stay with the company long because the way the were treated, how sad is that. The head of hr was shocked it had got so bad before anyone had said anything, I have worked here for ages and she though I might of come to her sooner I said I didn't because none of it directly involved me but yesterday was just too much. The look on my bosses face and he's face when the head of he came in was enough to please me though and as I was given the opportunity to leave early with pay, I decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I hate horrid people.

Amyyy27 · 15/05/2015 16:07

Well done onefoot! Enjoy your early finish, you deserve it!

Bristolian1 · 15/05/2015 16:47

Well done Onefoot and an afternoon off into the bargain!

Barbiedoll79 · 15/05/2015 17:03

Fantastic news one foot!!
Glad all went well and too right they have been suspended

Hopefully your work environment will improve greatly now x

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 15/05/2015 17:05

Well done onefoot. Bloody good for you for standing up to bullies.

gennibugs · 15/05/2015 17:33

Well done onefoot. I'm glad it was a good outcome.

chasingtherainbow · 15/05/2015 17:37

Well done one foot! !!!

Lilliana · 15/05/2015 18:25

Well done onefoot so glad it had such a good outcome.

What is a GD test?

My mw has finally called and I have my booking in app on the 15th June. She seems to think I'm only a couple of weeks but not sure how I would have got a positive test a week ago if this is true and no mention of a possibility of a scan so guess I'll have to wait and see.

chasingtherainbow · 15/05/2015 19:09

Gestational diabetes lilianna! If you got your bfp a week ago then your around 5 w no? X

Lilliana · 15/05/2015 19:22

That's what I thought chasing. Tbh I wasn't that keen on her but that is based on a 2 minute conversation and her not calling me for 4 days so I might be a tad unreasonable. Will see what happens at booking in. I'll be calling the doc and asking for a scan of I have any bleeding at all.

Tootle10 · 16/05/2015 05:54

Just checking in as I'm off on holiday for 2 weeks Smile back on 31st and then scan 1st June. Hoping the holiday will take my mind off it and I'll get some good news once I'm back - positive thinking today!

Sorry you haven't got any news on a scan Lilliana. Seems so unfair that the treatment you get depends on which part of the country you live in.

Well done one! What a nightmare, but you've handled it so well.

chasing I'll be having the GD test too due to family history of diabetes.

See you all in 2 weeks (unless I find some free wifi Wink). Good luck to all those with scans coming up x

Bristolian1 · 16/05/2015 05:57

Lying awake with 5am nausea here Sad urgh...

Gr33dyeggs · 16/05/2015 06:56

Have a great time Tootle, the time will fly and your scan will be here in no time.

Very bad nights sleep. DH is tired and grumpy and DD woke very early so no doubt will be grumpy later too! Not looking like a good day in the lili household!!

chasingtherainbow · 16/05/2015 08:42

Bringing in second tri with a big choc cookie for break. Cos I can..woooo for 14 wks at last.

Amyyy27 · 16/05/2015 08:44

Enjoy your hols Tootle!

epskie · 16/05/2015 08:55

Just checking in guys, I've been keeping up to date but still have a little anxiety so trying to stay quietly positive if that makes sense.

Lovely news on the scans and lovely clear photos chasing!

I have my scan on the 1st June, I'm currently 10+3 and my last mc was at 11 so ny nerves have ramped up a gear!

Does anybody know much about elective caesareans? With both my boys I had quite hideous labours ending in haemorrhage each time. I've been sent an appointment with the consultant to talk about it but when I mentioned to the midwife that I want to talk about an elective caesarean she said 'they're very reluctant to do them in our area and she doubts they'll let me.'
Now my school of thought is 'my body, my baby' and I'm not asking without good reason but I'm also not very good at standing up for myself, anybody have any experience or advice please? Smile

epskie · 16/05/2015 09:13

Also, can I join the Facebook group please?

chasingtherainbow · 16/05/2015 09:18

Pop me a pm with your name Epskie x

Lilliana · 16/05/2015 09:25

Yay for the second tri chasing! Can I join fb too? Didn't even know there was one! I'll send you a pm too if ok.

No knowledge about c section but you have good reasons. Sadly I think you'll have to be pushy to get one. Hate that that's the only way you get things done. Maybe go armed with some research to support your case? Good luck
