Sorry guys, I meant to report back sooner. We went to an Italian for a celebratory lunch date, I'd been sick thanks to dh choosing the scenic lane route home just before so had the relief and felt I could eat more. . So I did, then went home to bed only to wake up sick as a dog :-( I should have stuck with mini portions again. I'm now desperate to guzzle water but know I'll get violently sick so I'm in bed feeling sorry for myself.

Feeling so much relief post scan. I burst into tears on the way there... them was bordering on hysterical while waiting and being talked through the downs tests embarrassed and then more tears upon seeing baby. I knew I was v anxious but I'd been bottling it up and I felt very vulnerable going in. They ask you to pay for pics prior to your scan and I kept thinking.. but what if there's somthing wrong?!

Anyways. I'm measuring ahead by a couple of days so now due on Nov 14th. Here's two pics!

Babe was extremely wiggly and I was actually very sore by the end as it went on forever and she was really digging in. She said she'd gotten everything she needed but I think she'd have preferred a few more measurements for accuracy. Baby's fluid was between 1.8-2.1 so normal but obviously waiting on bloods to determine risk.

Grin Grin Grin chasing!!! Such a relief!

My hospital said if I hasn't heard from them by end of working hours today, we can assume downs is low risk. NT measurement was under 1.5 for each baby so I guess that's a good sign.
I don't feel as relaxed as I thought I would but I don't think this is going to be a relaxing pregnancy.

chasingtherainbow · 14/05/2015 18:36

I think my relief and relaxation will be shortlived. I'll be back to worrying tomorrow guy! I've kind of just accepted that'll be that status quo for this pregnancy the sooner I'm holding this baby safely the better.

and then I can start worrying on an entirely different scale

Gr33dyeggs · 14/05/2015 18:58

Lovely news chasing Smile. The angelsounds arrived today. It took about 10mins to find a heartbeat but managed it twice - lost it when it must have moved. DS liked it. Could also hear my heartbeat or blood in placenta. Interesting but I can see how it can cause worry and reassurance in equal measure!

Great news chasing! Lovely pics, I'm so pleased for you - been 'thread-watching'!!

I had a nice booking in appointment with sympathetic midwife who said she'll try to get me in for my dating scan before we go on holiday on 7th June (I'll be 13+1 by dates, but actually more like 12+3 as I ovulate late in my cycle) - it's a group holiday so I'd like to have the scan out of the way so we can tell people and hopefully worry a bit less! I'm full of anxiety today as feeling slightly less awful, but it's normal for symptoms to come and go right? Hmm

chasingtherainbow · 14/05/2015 19:15

Bristol mine are definitely coming and going. Also keep meaning to ask if you are actually a brizzle dweller? .
Where you off on hols?

Anyone else already bickering over names? It's like dejavu here, except last time we fully agreed on a girls from 14w but could not agree on a boys name right up till I gave birth.

This time we've agreed on a boys name but dh is refusing all my well loved options!

Gr33dyeggs · 14/05/2015 19:21

We have a girls name but no agreement with a boys!

Bristolian1 · 14/05/2015 20:18

Yep I am indeed from Brizzle! Off to Greece for a friend's wedding - should be great week in the sun in a lovely villa, but would just like reassurance that all going well first!

Haven't even thought much about names. Too early for that here!

onefootinthebed · 14/05/2015 20:39

Oh good news chasing and Bristol love hearing good news .

chasingtherainbow · 14/05/2015 20:41

Are you on the fb group yet bristol? I wonder if we have any mutual friends!

Greece sounds gorgeous.

We've agreed on Theo for a boy.

I feel soo strongly that Beatrix should be our girls name. DH totally against on acc of bristolians pronouncing it beer-trix!

wispywoo1 · 14/05/2015 20:58

We've decided on a few names. Girl is most likely to be Alice. I like Lauren and Lydia bit DH isn't too keen. Boys names we like are Rory, Lewis and I like Joel. We won't be telling anyone the chosen name Smile

Bristolian1 · 14/05/2015 21:07

Great names chasing! Not on FB just yet as I still feel a lot earlier in the journey than the rest of you guys! 9 weeks tomorrow. Is that too early to join?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 14/05/2015 21:10

We struggle with names as we're bilingual family (French / English) so need names that work in both languages.

Gr33dyeggs · 14/05/2015 21:26

It was up and running by our 9th weeks bristolian. I honestly have no clue how to add you to the group though! I think I need a computer which I don't have currently Sad I studied at Bristol UWE. I have some fond memories of it.
I like Theo! Our girls name is Megan. Although I'm sure it's a boy again.

Oh and I've bought some maternity bras today. Hoping they will fit for a bit!

OP posts:
chasingtherainbow · 15/05/2015 06:33

I need to get some soft maternity bras. My boobs are so heavy and sore.

Yes we were on the group by about 9 wks. Come on over bristol. I think if you pm me your name I can add you (it's secret so unsearchable, but I have to add you as a friend first. We all agreed to unfriend immediately after and then we can readd people in our own time when we all know each other a bit better if we want)

Ohh love these names. I'm fond of Alice but it's my sisters name too.

Amyyy27 · 15/05/2015 07:38

Hmm I'm confused ... I received a letter when I got home from work yesterday for an appointment with 'midwifery led patients' at the hospital for when I will be just before 18 weeks. The week before I am booked in for my '16 week' midwife appointment at the docs. Does anyone know what this hospital appointment would be for? I will ring them later to find out for definite but I'm a bit concerned something may have shown up in the scan and she didn't tell us?

Amyyy27 · 15/05/2015 08:26

Ignore that! I rang up and it just because I have coeliac disease, phew!

onefootinthebed · 15/05/2015 08:44

Chasing and Bristol sorry for my short message yesterday. I am really pleased for you both and hope the scans bring some relief. I wonder at what point it will be easy to relax and enjoy our pregnancy's.

Amyy I think I had some very quick appointments (when I had ds) come through and the were about blood sugars and iron and things like that so please try not to worry.

I have felt so ill the last to days I didn't tell boss or hr because I just couldn't bear to tell them while I felt ill. Unfortantley one of my colleagues rang in sick yesterday as she had a misscarriage. I am unsure how this became common knowledge but in the drinks room the office gossip was bitching about her and how she is going to now need special treatment and how everyone has them. I wanted to punch her in the face how dare she belittle someone's horrific time like that, anyway top and bottom line is I usually have nothing to do with this woman apart from being civil and I told her to stop being horrible and consider other people's feeling instead of making it into gossip and that however our colleague decides to cope with it is up to her. As I said the other day it's abit tense in the office at the moment and feeling sick on top of hearing this and someone crying this morning I just had enough. I have an slot with hr today as office gossip complained about what I said to her,if I raised my voice I would understand but I know I never. I am considering asking the head of hr to join (I know she will if I ask) as I know that hr for our floor won't do anything but tell me I was out of order but everything in that office just needs to stop being so negative and it looks like it's gonna have to be me to say something. When she told me we would be having a "chat" I said good because things can not go on like this anymore, she looked abit shocked.

Barbiedoll79 · 15/05/2015 09:15

Fantastic news chasing and what lovey clear pictures!!

Greedy glad you found the hb with Doppler how lovely :-)

One foot good luck with hr and good on you! X

Amyyy27 · 15/05/2015 09:32

onefoot I am furious for you. Firstly what a stupid idiotic woman. And is she thick? How does she think its going to sound when it comes out she was calling a poor woman having a miscarriage and you stuck up for her... and she's now complaining about that?! I would certainly ask the head of HR to attend. In fact I would want everyone to know! Secondly, from what you have said it sounds like a very miserable atmosphere and that does need brought to attention, so good on you for saying something, especially when you are poorly. Don't let them belittle you or the situation either. I hope it goes well for you!

chasingtherainbow · 15/05/2015 09:37

Jesus One foot! You work sounds like a gossipy, stressful shambles! Control that hr meeting and give them some home truths. Sounds like you're the only one with the ladyballs to do so! Flowers like you need this to deal with!

Still nauseous as hell today. I've agreed to a curry and drinks night tomo for a friend's 40th and dd is going to mil so dh and I can go together. Am worried about being oh I dunno... exhausted. . Sick.. unable to eat.. all 3? Joys!!

Gr33dyeggs · 15/05/2015 10:05

Set them straight onefoot! I dislike where I work a lot if the time but your place sounds awful.
Sorry you're feeling rough chasing.
At least they're looking out for you amyyy
Just back from 16 week mw appt. She found heartbeat where I had and asked if I'd like to record it - lovely! 151 bpm - off to Google to see if it confirms my boy theory!

OP posts:
chasingtherainbow · 15/05/2015 10:19

Gr33dy dd 's hb always 'indicated boy' lol!

DH decided ours is a boy on acc of one of the pictures looking like baby has a beard GrinHmm

Amyyy27 · 15/05/2015 10:26

Greedy yes I was surprised when she said that was what its for! They have asked me about it but as it can only be controlled by diet they said it would be fine. I do have a few questions about it though as baby is more likely to be born early and small so I'm pleased they have arranged this :)

Glad you got to hear heartbeat! I am so excited/nervous for ours, lovely you got to record it I hope we can too :)

Lol chasing Grin, do you have any feeling of what you are having? I was adamant boy at first but now I'm not so sure!
