Winge Alert!

I am never happy! Today I woke up feeling better than usual and TMI managed to have some intimate time with OH Blush. I then didn't feel sick for a full hour before the proper nausea started... but I haven't been sick at all!! After almost 8 weeks of terrible sickness. Now I imagined I would be feeling ecstatic when this day came around but I am doing nothing but worrying. I am trying to convince myself that because I still feel sick (although not as much as usual) that I shouldn't panic.... but you know me!

Would you be inclined to ring the midwife? Or am I being silly?

Bristolian1 · 12/05/2015 10:18

Happy holidays Lost

Amyy hopefully you're just starting to get better from you HG? Doesn't that normally happen around now? But if you're worried then calling the midwife can't hurt - it's totally normal to be more worried after everything you've been through.

Amyyy27 · 12/05/2015 10:33

Thanks bristolian!

Well I just called them after realising my sickness had vanished altogether and you can imagine the panic!! She wasn't concerned at all. Said with extreme sickness they expect it to go between 16-18 weeks but the couple of weeks leading up to that there can be days here and there when there will be no sickness at all.

Feel stupid now sorry!!

Will now try and enjoy my sick free day Grin

gennibugs · 12/05/2015 10:33

amyy I think around 14 weeks is when most start to feel better so that could be it. but ring the midwife if you feel worried. I know I'll be the same when I start to be symptom free! Smile

Amyyy27 · 12/05/2015 10:52

Thanks genni that's what she said :) It feels so strange!

Barbiedoll79 · 12/05/2015 11:58

Have a lovely time lost
Thinking of you wispy
Amyyy that's reassuring then- if you're ever not happy though just fall epau and I'm sure they would scan to check :) ( I always bypas the midwife) x

chasingtherainbow · 12/05/2015 11:59

Sorry I'm not keeping up with the thread of late.. combo of huge scanxiety and mega busy with new work contracts.

Amyy am so glad you're better today. My better days are also ruined by worry! It is normal for it to start getting better now so don't panic but a call to mw if you actually get to talk to yours might help you feel better.

Scan is Thursday. I'm working until 7am with an overnight twins contract then heading to scan.. Eep.

Bristolian1 · 12/05/2015 12:35

Hope you are able to enjoy your day if feeling better now Amyyy

Chasing scanxiety is the worst. I think you're a hero for working all night before it - maybe it'll help take your mind off it?

I am really struggling with fatigue this week, and feeling nauseous all the time (though not being sick so I know not as bad as some!). Just generally feeling miserable and not coping with work very well. 10 hour days are not my friend! How do all you ladies cope with work/life when feeling so awful? Any advice gratefully received

Amyyy27 · 12/05/2015 13:15

Thanks ladies!

Barbie I don't think epau would speak to me now would they? I'm currently 13+6! (where has the time gone?!)

chasing nice to hear from you! Totally understandable for keeping away though its such a shitty time right before scans. You're almost there though! Won't be long til you see your lovely baby :) But working til 7am Shock you deserve a medal!

Thanks bristolian* Found some gluten free cheese and onion quiche in M&S (YAYYYY Eventually!) and since 6 weeks the thought of eggs turned my stomach (Sorry if this makes anyone feel ill!!) but was able to enjoy it so I'm very pleased Grin Re fatigue I totally sympathise! Mine seemed to leave for a few weeks thankfully but I remember coming in from work and falling asleep as soon as my bum hit the couch! Its starting to come back but it may be because I'm not used to being in work lol. I don't even have any advice sorry I sit and count down the hours until I can get home and chill! And weekends are normally spent slothing with a few day naps.

onefootinthebed · 12/05/2015 14:37

Bristol I work long days, sometimes can be 12 hours it's killer.sometimes I don't feel like I have a day off as the other days I have my ds. I was falling asleep as soon as I got in but now I try and stay awake and go to bed instead of falling asleep on the couch. There are loads of things I have had to change,I don't eat bread it makes me have evening nausea and not drink after 9pm as it makes me go the loo early hours in the morning.

I make sure I have comfortable shoes on and have the breaks I'm entitled too.

I have just googled nose bleeds in pregnancy apparently they are common I havnt heard this before. I can smell the blood before it starts trickilng down my face it's horrid .

Chasing that is dedication to your job, luckily I off the day before and of my scan.

I'm gonna tell my boss tomorrow as well as my horrid hr woman . Dreading it .

Amyyy27 · 12/05/2015 15:14

onefoot booo to the nose bleeds :( good luck telling your boss and horrid hr woman! Hope its a weight off your chest.

chasingtherainbow · 12/05/2015 15:29

I currently work 7.30-6.30 two days pw, 8-1 and then go back to same area but different family 9pm- 7am. I'm off thurs and Fri .. hard going atm but put 1k away in baby fund as was extra I'd earned on tip of my usual wage this month alone so just thinking of the money (and experience) from August I'll be off completely so not long to

onefootinthebed · 12/05/2015 15:56

Amy I think it will, maybe it will mean that they will ease up abit lately they have both been upsetting the whole team with extra demands and threading action. It's actually not a nice place too work these last two weeks I keep walking into either people crying in the toilet or the drinks area. Roll on Monday for my scan and November for a year off asifit'sayearoff--

Amyyy27 · 12/05/2015 16:11

Sounds like an awful place onefoot I sympathise!

chasing think August will be here before you know it! :)

Barbiedoll79 · 12/05/2015 16:12

Amyyy the epau said to me (in Norwich don't know about other areas) that they will see you until 16 weeks x

Amyyy27 · 12/05/2015 16:26

Thanks Barbie That's good to know! :)

onefootinthebed · 12/05/2015 16:46

Its usually fine all nice and busy,I have a feeling the boss has had his bum kicked over behaviour at one of our client events, which was his own doing but

onefootinthebed · 12/05/2015 16:52

Sorry posted to soon

The event mishap was his own fault but he is blaming the newest people. It's easy to let things go over your head but hard to see people crying. I love my job just not the two people unfortantley .

Bristolian1 · 12/05/2015 16:54

Thanks ladies. I know the fatigue won't last for ever but I think I just needed a moan! (Sorry for moaning at you lot again!!) afternoons are easier than mornings, as the nausea is less intense, and it has been quiet recently so have been able to take breaks today!
Onefoot I hope your boss and HR lady are more sympathetic once they know your news. And nosebleeds? I never even knew that was a possible pregnancy symptom. How rubbish for you!
In other news, after much badgering, I have a booking in appointment for Thursday! How official! I'll be coming up for 9weeks then.

Barbiedoll79 · 12/05/2015 17:47

Yay bristolian :-! How exciting! X

Amyyy27 · 12/05/2015 18:10

bristolian good news in booking in! :)

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 12/05/2015 18:11

I am exhausted. Like, can't even stand up exhausted. Sickness has almost gone. Aren't I supposed to be all energetic and glowing now?

chasingtherainbow · 12/05/2015 19:01

No.. from memory I didn't remotely glow until post 20 weeks!!

Gr33dyeggs · 12/05/2015 19:03

Hi all. Glad things are moving on bristolian!
I have a number to call up to 20 weeks so things obviously vary locally.
I'm still getting odd sensations in the right side and more recently it feels like I'm being prodded with something hot there. Any ideas? Midwife appointment friday can't come soon enough!

I'm trying really hard not to worry..
