I am 7 weeks 2 days pregnant and have my first early scan tomorrow for a heartbeat (or beats they put two back!).

I have generally been feeling pregnant, cramps, very tired, boobs have got bigger and hurt plus a little bit of nausea when I wake and constant trips to the toilet but even with all these symptoms I am still worried about the scan tomorrow that there won't be anything there or no heartbeat.

Can anyone give me some guidance on what to expect at the scan tomorrow please (plus some sucess stories!) thanks x

I'm on oestrogen tablets and Crinone gel still, the (NHS) IVF clinic have given me enough for another three weeks or so, by which point I'll be 10 weeks pregnant. At least the gel is better than the progesterone injections, they were sooooo painful…… might be due to OH's less than great nursing techniques!

We had a little scare over the weekend, I had some bleeding on Saturday night; I'd had nothing before that so it was a real shock. Everything seems ok now though, and neither the hospital or the GP seem that bothered, they just checked that it had stopped. I'm waiting for my first midwife's appointment which they were due to call me today to make, but didn't Sad - hopefully after that I'll have the date of my next scan.

Thank you for the details of the Harmony test Fab, it's definitely something I'll look into. We'll be classed as high risk because of the twins and because of my age (37) although it wouldn't have been so bad if OH's swimmers had done their job yonks ago!! I'm trying to stay positive but I am worried in case something's wrong with one or both, I guess because my little brother has Down's and I have no idea how we'd cope if one or both of our babies turned out to have it.

As for exercise, I'm doing what I can when not feeling like I'm about to throw up/ fall asleep! Mainly walking although even that makes me tired, I've stopped all the exercise classes as a precaution.

Toes, thinking of you at your next scan, I hope it's better news.

I started to get excited today finally about being pregnant and now freaking out tonight that something is going to go wrong. Am I nuts? There is every chance everything will be fine and yet I cant seem to enjoy it. Feeling a bit pathetic today

Oh can I join? Am finding it hard where to fit in as everyone one the November bus seems so excited and I'm so nervous.

I'm 5W6ds after first ivf cycle. First scan is on 24/3. We had two, day threes put back and the second week after they were put back I had loads of symptoms, since then they seem to have disappeared which is worrying me. I'm also in three Cyclogest a day.

Hi girls! Finally I finished my busy week!! I work just 4 days but it's enough in my condition!!
Yes fab tomorrow is my scan, how are you feeling? in few days you will have your first scan as well!!
I received 2 letters from NHS regarding the nuchal test so I have appointment for blood test on 25th March and nuchal test the following Wednesday .I was fine with this until I read the explanation of risk of miscarriage and probabilities!! So if things go well in the scan the next big event will be waiting for the result of the following tests!! anyhow patience is the only thing that I can have and take each step at a time Confused.

Can't wait to hear how you get on gc

Welcome Mrs we all know exactly how you feel, I went to join the October baby has threads but just didn't feel right! Hope you find everyone is in the same boat and super supportive, I have anyway! I'd go mad without these threads!

It's for me, I keep getting cramps down there how I felt when I got my periods, but nothing! Is this just stretching and movement etc?! Every twinge is a bloody panic!

However on a positive note I did read that 90 something % of people who see th heartbeat at an early scan go home with a healthy baby at the end of it so that's pretty good odds from here on in and much higher odds than this ivf ever working in the first place! Smile

Hi girls

Had my 10 week scan yesterday at the private clinic and saw an actual baby bouncing around in my womb! It was magical! It now feels more real, I do not feel as nervous and in less that 2 weeks time (I will be 11 weeks on Monday) we can finally shout it from the rooftops!

So girls it is real, it does work and fingers crossed by the end of this year we will all be holding out babies x

It was Fabuluce you can't believe what you are seeing is actually inside you!

Amazing how much it changes from that first scan Whittle - I am now discharged from my private clinic and see my GP on the 24th when I will be 12 weeks so should have another scan around then.

How are you feeling? x

Hi everyone, just wanted to update you that my scan wasn't yesterday, it on Monday. I hope it's ok if I update you all on what's going on, I just don't really feel like I fit in anywhere at the moment - infertility is people ttc, and I feel I'm too pregnant for that! And miscarriage/loss seems like resigning to the fact, I'm not ready to give up yet. But I don't want to scare anyone on here either!

I didn't have a re-scan yesterday because we had a long weekend booked in Barcelona for YONKS for DH's 30th and I point blank refused to cancel. The doctor was all Hmm at me but I put my foot down. I'm so glad I did - we just got home, and I didn't think about all the rubbish stuff the whole time we were there, which was such a massive relief. The doctor told me that I would "probably start bleeding" and to be prepared, so I packed a suitcase full of nighttime pads (seriously, 3 mega packs) and haven't had to use a single one so far. In fact a few pregnancy symptoms have even returned, I even almost threw up a few times from all the people smoking around us! I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it's so hard!

So yes, Monday I guess we find out either way.....

Toes, I'm really glad you enjoyed your break - Barcelona is lovely isn't it? What else would the doctor rather you do, sit around worrying and thinking about every symptom?! Much better to take your mind off things, be prepared (just in case!) but not let it get to you. And thinking of you for tomorrow xx

I have my first midwife appointment on Thursday - she was a bit grumpy though and made it clear that she was doing it as overtime - not sure how that's my problem/ fault! Apparently they've been really busy recently and she's having to come in during her holidays. I'm sure she's getting paid though, and if she couldn't do it then why not refer me elsewhere?

Congratulations anroga on your scan and little jumping bean Grin I liked the 6 week scan, proved to me that I'm actually feeling crap for a reason!

Not sure when my next scan will be but I'm guessing around at around 10 weeks (I'm 7 at the moment) for the nuchal test. Or maybe they do the blood test first? Hopefully the grumpy midwife will enlighten me on Thursday!
