Hi ladies,

Just wondering if anyone is due in the next couple of weeks and wants to keep a thread of how they're feeling, their daily struggles or keep updated with labour stories etc?!

I'm 38+0 and have been having niggles for a week or so. I have mild polyhydramnios and have been told to expect baby anytime soon, although some days I don't feel pregnant and feel I still have ages to go!

How're you feeling and have you had any signs that your LO will be making an appearance anytime soon?

You will be fine Hazel Smile just always think about your bundle of joy at the end of it! I got so sick of being pregnant literally the day before I cried most of the day. Maybe it was a sign!? Ha!

Can't wait to hear all your news!!

hazel88 · 13/02/2015 17:52

Beautiful name by the way! How much did she weigh? And what did the contractions feel like?!

MrsCorr · 13/02/2015 19:45

I love that name ?? was on our list before we found out we're having a boy xx

Cherryblossom200 · 13/02/2015 20:14

Thank you Smile she weighed 7.4 lb - do you want me to be really honest about what they felt like? Bearing in mind I had normal labour pains as well as back labour and contractions which were on top of one another at points so no rest in between. At times it felt like hell. Sorry, you did ask! But I would go back and do it again to get my daughter Smile xxx

hazel88 · 13/02/2015 20:21

That's exactly what I expected haha. Shitting myself now but the only alternative is to keep getting bigger and that is NOT happening haha.

Hope you can get some well deserved rest now, you did it!! Enjoy every moment with your precious girl Grin

Contractions are like nothing you will have experienced, really hard to describe but you get the obvious tummy tightening plus this incredible pain across your tummy which builds and then descends. Gas and air helped me take the edge of, when they were about to take it away I literally went crazy at them! You will be fine, just don't panic because it makes it worse. Just try and mentally accept this is what is happening and trust your body will do the rest for you Smile

Zsazsabinks · 13/02/2015 20:48

I think it really helps to remember that every contraction comes, peaks and then it disappears and that every one is another that you don't have to do, one closer to meeting your baby.

Honestly Hazel, I'm not going to lie they are pain like nothing else, but they've got a job to do and they're effective! You will be absolutely fine. Promise!

Now you, me, Mrs Corr....we all need to find ourselves some!!

MrsCorr · 13/02/2015 21:06

I've been trying to romance my husband with a nice early valentines dinner, will let you know if it worked Wink

hazel88 · 13/02/2015 21:20

Thanks for the advice ladies Smile I've been cool as a cucumber about it all up until the past few days and am now beginning to have a bit of a wobble!

Mrs Corr let us know if anything starts, I'm considering DTD if it'll work hahaha

Congratulations cherry, sounds like you were amazing !!

blankfornames · 14/02/2015 07:23

MrsCorr, since the Dr's recommendation of DTD two weeks ago, it's been going on regularly (and awkwardly!) here since...alas no Baby yet. Ate chillis last night...what else is there to try?!

Hi all, been MIA for a few days, feeling fed up!
Congratulations to those that have had exciting news and well done cherry and thank you for sharing your experience.
Has anyone tried aromatherapy? Im not even overdue yet but everything hurts and I keep having signs like labour is imminent then it just stops. Im currently trying anything, even though I have been practicing hypnobirthing and it says not to. I would try DTD but OH very unwilling! Bloody men!! x

Zsazsabinks · 14/02/2015 11:03

Men are useless bambi, they really are! You could make it really sexy by saying, "Look, it's not so much YOU I want, it's your sperm". That's probably an enormous turn on...?

I absolutely ABSOLUTELY feel your pain, all the signs and no baby!

MrsCorr · 14/02/2015 12:10

My romantic evening didn't go as planned, poor oh was not for having it lol! Said he could feel something hitting his willy ???? told him it's all in his head but didn't help.
Then this morning he says "you should try to get the baby out today"
Me "I don't have much control over it"
Him "just start pushing!!" ??
If only it was that easy Wink
I've not had any pains or contractions so think this wee one is too comfy in there, has anyone tried eating pineapple? I've eaten a little bit but think I'll get some more today Smile

Zsazsabinks · 14/02/2015 12:14

I had some pineapple the other day but I think you need about 25million pineapples to make it do anything. I don't know, not going to hurt to try!

x

hazel88 · 14/02/2015 13:19

Stubborn babies!!! I read that you'd have to eat 7 pineapples in order to get any affect. don't know how true that is but can't say I'd fancy 7 myself! Hope someone goes in to labour soon!!

Zsazsa Apparently thats how I made him feel when we were trying to concieve in the first place (a sperm doner) and he complained enough about it then. To be fair I also have an urge to puch him in the face most of the time at the moment, not sure why he is trying his best, so not sure I could persuade myself at the moment too!
If only it was a matter of will power Mrscorr, I think my OH also thinks its me thats being stubburn and dragging it out! I will try pineapple, although not sure I could manage 7 either!
OH did give me a (rather painful) massage with oils that are supposed to bring on labour, unfortunately it just led to me sitting on the toilet most of last night, did have contractions but they were mostly bowel related, sorry for tmi. Fingers crossed for all of us. x

snailsinlove · 14/02/2015 13:52

I'm due on Friday, though pretty much every night I'm getting funny turns where I'll feel really awful, then get up and start doing jobs around the house in a really intense way, like lots of adrenaline, then be really spaced and relaxed, almost like a trance. Lots of Braxton hicks too. anyone else?

Oh, it's not your fault Babiecakes!

blankfornames · 14/02/2015 17:48

Babie, what's left of dignity at the end of the pregnancy is left at the entrance door of the hospital once we go into labour! Totally normal what happened you Im afraid.

Snails, Im due on Thursday and I'm feeling like you describe. I'm quite uneasy and can't sit still for a moment. I' ve done the shopping (2 separate supermarkets), organised the stuff for under the changing unit, went to the recycling centre with a car load of stuff, have my third wash of the day on, cleaned kitchen, visited the inlaws, covered jobs off my To Do list, went around shops and bought owed birthday presents...and I still have too much energy to spare. I nearly feel too good if that makes sence!!
