Last thread ended with a series of Really Good News, so let's hope this one keeps up the trend!

Congratulations gail so lovely to hear of thread babies.

Babytinx11 · 02/02/2015 22:05

silver can I let you know on Friday when i have a definite date? It's terrifying now in fairness still have shopping to do and I can't walk round the house without almost passing out Confused but I will let you know about date change after I see the consultant friday morning :)

longestlurkerever · 02/02/2015 22:49

Congratulations Gail! Lovely news. Welcome to the world, baby Oscar? Silver if you get a chance to correct the typo I made in my name in the stats it would be appreciated! .

Phryn · 03/02/2015 07:46

Congratulations Gail and welcome to the world baby Oscar!

DoctorDonna I hope the key thing appeared - how frustrating (and totally sounds like something that would happen to me). My DH asks how can I lose things, but as I use 2 different bags for my work and at least one for social stuff things aren't always kept in the same place!

DoctorDonnaNoble · 03/02/2015 08:16

Nope no key. It's somewhere in the house - will show up when we move I bet. Going to be a month of no treats for me I feel now. Still, at least it's a short pay month.

broodylicious · 03/02/2015 08:29

Huge congrats gail! You were the first person on mn who responded to me when I mc in February and was amongst those first terrifying moments of hell; you were going through it too yet you were so supportive and kind. I'm truly delighted you have your beautiful rainbow baby now and wish you every success for your life as a mummy xxxx

happygojo · 03/02/2015 08:40

Congratulations gail YAY!

I have been quite blase about today being scan day.... until today. I tossed and turned all night and I have had nightmares. I cried in the car to work this morning. I feel like I am awaiting a walk to the gallows! I have no reason to think that anything is wrong, but I had no reason last time. I was 8 weeks when I had a private scan and discovered my blighted ovum, this time I have waited until my 12 week NHS scan. It is at 3.30pm so at least by the end of today I will know, one way or the other

broodylicious · 03/02/2015 08:44

Holy moly silver! That must be a huge and heavy bag you're taking with you! There's no need to take water and cups and straws - the hospital provides all of that - but defo agree on the snacks because I was starving when I got on to the ward at night but had missed food service. Make sure you pack plenty for dp too I'd swap his change of clothes for snacks actually but that's just me because I know he struggles with lack of food, lol!

Littlelady33 · 03/02/2015 11:06

Good luck with the scan today happy!

KellyBird1980 · 03/02/2015 11:17

Good luck happy! Flowers

silverine · 03/02/2015 13:42

Haha broody, that's actually a compilation of lists I found on boots, babycentre and other website - to make my 'ddefinitive' list. Haven't actually taken cups and straws, just sports top bottle of water as one in hospital will surely be tap. Haven't packed pillow either!
struggling with snack ideas beyond cereal bars and biscuits. Was thinking babybels and oat crackers, fruit if I remember on the day...?
good luck with the scan happy!

happygojo · 03/02/2015 14:25

T minus 1 hour and 6 minutes..... they better not be running late otherwise I may go mental..... I also may wet myself

Babytinx11 · 03/02/2015 15:08

sliver DH reminded me when I went in to have DS I took one of those cooling sprays and loved it apparently it was one of the few things I didn't throw at him lol
Beginning to wish I had an idea what it feels like before you go into labour naturally feeling awful today :( throwing up every where pounding headache, chest hurts and finding breathing hard and stomache cramps ?? not sure if I should be calling my midwife or trying to bribe DS to take a nap so I can ??. So far I have spent most of the day in the bathroom one way or another :( any ideas peps? I don't remember this but with DS mainly coz I pretty much slept through it

happygojo · 03/02/2015 17:39

There is a baby in my belly! Measuring a week ahead so 13+1 instead of 12+1! Relieved is an understatement!

Littlelady33 · 03/02/2015 17:40

Hurrah happy!! And you get to jump forward a week too. The 12 week scan is just so magical isn't it? Massive congrats and welcome to the second trimester!Smile

Littlelady33 · 03/02/2015 17:43

Can I ask if any of you have experienced terrible dizziness in pregnancy? I'd been on my feet with a client for a couple of hours today and it all started to go wrong - dizzy, hot, blurred vision - I was quite scared! Found some water and sat with my head between my legs for a while and was better, is this normal? My body's way of telling me to slow it down a bit....?

Hurray Happy that's great news!

Babytinx11 · 03/02/2015 18:56

Fab news happy glad all went well for you today :)

broodylicious · 03/02/2015 18:59

Aah fantastic news happy! Really pleased all is well.

Had my 16 week appt with mw today, bloods taken for the quad test. Just got to wait two weeks for the results. Declined opportunity to listen to HB as I know I would just worry myself silly for the next four weeks (until 20 week scan) if she hadn't been able to locate it, so removed the potential risk to my sanity and just left it. Still being sick and when I'm not, I'm feeling it! this is good though, I keep telling myself. Over and over and overWink

maverick79 · 03/02/2015 19:12

Fabulous news happy!

Littlelady33 · 03/02/2015 19:32

Broody could I ask what roughly they do at a 16wk appointment? Mine is coming up on sat and I've no idea what to expect!

broodylicious · 03/02/2015 19:42

Naff all, really little. I had bloods taken but that's only for the quad test because bubba wouldn't stay still for the NT test at my 12 week scan. I had a lot of questions about the accuracy of the quads test and possible results, so that took a bit of time. Other than that, it was just a wee test and a check of blood pressure, plus a standard "have you been feeling ok in yourself" question. She also went through my blood results that were taken at booking in (all clear but potential for low iron level later on).

thesmallbear · 03/02/2015 19:43

Yay happy so glad things have worked out for you this time. Were they running on time? They were an hour behind when I went for my scan - thought I was going to wet myself!
