Happy new year everyone

50degreesintheshade · 01/01/2015 14:00

Happy new year to everyone.
I think it is about time that I start to think positively and join this thread.
Stats, 1DS, complete molar pregnancy in 2013/14 and 4 cycles of chemotherapy, early miscarriage in sept 2014.
3 tests have shown a clear rise in hcg but can't actually say the "p" word.
I know that I need to email my doctor and I will be seen straight away for a scan and blood tests, but I'm terrified that the only thing I will be growing again are abnormal cells ??
I think I am around 5 weeks but I am still in denial. Just need to pluck up the courage to go for a scan, but I know once they start I will be getting them weekly and I'm not sure i can cope with that.

Envious who is doing the blood tests for you? When I spoke to epu they said they will scan me a week on Monday but no mention of bloods. I have a gp appt tomorrow about something that's not pregnancy related , do you think.I.could.ask fir bloods then as it might put my.mind at rest a bit x I am.so afraid of mc again :(

Happy new year positivity ladies!

Brummie I'm really heartbroken for you. I can't think of anything helpful to say, but you & your dp are in my thoughts. Take care of yourself xx

If I could get added to the stats it would be much appreciated- Mslad, 33, no dc, mmc June 2014, edd 18 May 2015

Is there anyone on this thread who by 20+3 hasn't felt any real movement? It feels like everyone online has felt full kicks by this point, while I'm still trying to tell if I'm feeling flutterings or not. Plus I have a posterior placenta so thought I'd have felt something definite. I heard the heart beat last week so I'm not toooo panicked (yet). I have my scan next week, and my fear is going into overdrive....I'm convinced my low Papp-a test results will mean there's something wrong.

Hi all, thought I would officially add my stats:
28, no DC, MMC September 2014 (blighted ovum), EDD 17th August 2015

Not done anything today I feel so rubbish, I am dreading work on Monday, although work were super supportive during the MC I want to wait until 12 weeks before telling them but I am struggling with nausea and fatigue (and fear). I didn't feel this bad last time so taking that as a plus. I just have no idea how I am going to go to work AND be productive! Coming up to 8 weeks. I dont think I will go for a private scan, there is only one place local to me that does them and that was where I went last time and I cant face it. Anyway happy new year one and all, sorry to those that have left, I hope to see you back here soon xxxx

silverine · 01/01/2015 21:36

Hi 50 degrees, good to see you, remember you from the ttc after mc threat (or was it earlier on this one). FX all is good for you this time, new year - new luck! Wink

Mslad, happy and llama, have added your stats to the list, will repost in due course. Anyone else? Hope calling is ok and we have more thread baby updates coming.

tannyLoo · 01/01/2015 22:18

Hi 50degrees I also recognise you, congratulations.

I've been lurking a bit on the pg after MC Dec thread, and Engles was still waiting last time I checked. I might have another peek... Blush

thegirlwiththebrokensmile · 01/01/2015 22:38

Thoughts are with brummie hope you get really well taken care of medically and emotionally. Sending you hope and love Flowers

thegirlwiththebrokensmile · 01/01/2015 22:40

Could I be added to stats too please?

Littlelady33 · 02/01/2015 13:04

50degrees great to see you here I remember you from the TTC after MC threads earlier last year. Here's to an uneventful and happy pregnancy! My sickness has almost gone today but I'm in week 12 now so that's perhaps not unusual. Can't help but worry a little though.

thesmallbear · 02/01/2015 13:47

Just had a phone call from the midwife to say I am at high risk of downs. Got to go into the hospital on Monday to discuss further options. I know that I can have the amniocentesis to find out for sure - but that carries a miscarriage risk. I don't think I could live with myself if I decided to have the amniocentesis and then lost him/her. Feeling devastated right now Sad

silverine · 02/01/2015 13:54

smallbear is that because of bloods or nt measurement? I had high nt and chose to do the harmony blood test at the fetal medicine centre in London. Not sure where you're based but worth looking that up or equivalent. Best £500 I spent (althou the results take 2 weeks to arrive) and they came back clear. What's your risk? Remember that even 1:20 risk means 95% chance all will be clear. Hugs! Message me if you need to.

thesmallbear · 02/01/2015 14:14

Thanks silverline. It was the NHS combined test, so fluid around the back of the babies neck and bloods. They didn't give me the exact number over the phone just said 'high risk', so I'm assuming they'll give me the exact number when I go into the hospital on Monday. Just been reading about the harmony test and it's says the result is 99% accurate without any miscarriage risk. That sounds like it's worth the £500 to me. I'm in Birmingham.

thesmallbear · 02/01/2015 14:15

Thanks Sunbathing, I have calmed down a bit now. I was in hysterics when I first came off the phone to the midwife!

FlorenceandZebedee · 02/01/2015 14:35

Big hugs smallbear that must have been such a hard phone call to take. Just to say 'mums' clinic in Solihull do the harmony tests and they're very good, professional but very empathetic. Hope you're getting lots of love and support in RL. As others have said the odds are still hugely in your and your baby's favour xxx
