Plus size bumps!

Have seen a few threads where women are feeling crap for being plus size and pregnant. I feel crap sometimes too, especially when googling pregnancy and only seeing representations of slim pregnant women and nobody who looks like me (no offence at all to slim women). I couldn't really find much that wasn't critical or bump pics!

So here's a thread for plus size bumps if you're feeling up to posting yours!

Here's mine- 25 weeks today!

I'm so jealous of all your beautiful bumps! I find out tomorrow if I'm definitely pregnant. I so hope so. I miss having a bump!

FlipFlippingFlippers · 15/01/2015 16:46

For those of you struggling to find maternity clothes Bon Prix go up to a size 28/30 in their maternity range and I find nexts maternity range very generous. I'm usually a size 24/26 but fit into their maternity size 22's no problem. I'm 32 weeks and massive (gained 2 and a half stone since I've been pregnant) and I still fit in them.

BreeVDKamp · 15/01/2015 17:29

Here I am at 23 weeks today! Felt so shit about my BMI early on in pregnancy, freaked out about diabetes and saw a dietician who was useless, but I've managed to only put on 4lb/2kg :)

(I am sticking my belly out there :) )

Tranquilitybaby · 15/01/2015 17:53

I'm loving the bump pics, you all look great! Xx

I'm 17+3 and still not really noticeable pregnant. Bmi is 36, wonder when I can expect to show.

skyra13 · 15/01/2015 18:26

I like H&M maternity were there xl size is nice and big. So that is another good range to look at if looking for maternity cloths x

Jodie1982 · 15/01/2015 22:53

Hello Ladies. Thought I'd post another of my rapidly expanding bump, hope my lil boy slows down on his growth for a bit. I'm 35+6 now.

BigCatFace · 29/01/2015 02:29

Dun dun dun! The dress no longer fits at 37 weeks!

fattymcfatfat · 29/01/2015 08:06

Hi all im 15 weeks pregnant and had a bmi of 30 when booking. This pic is my 13+6 bump!

happygojo · 29/01/2015 10:30

Can I just say, this thread has made me feel so much better. I am currently 11+3 with a BMI of 32 at booking in, however I have lost 5lbs since falling pg. But one of my fears is of not looking pregnant and only looking fat but you all have such lovely 'definitely preg' bumps! I can't wait to actually have a bump..... right no I have a podge.... with occasional bloat however that has not stopped the stretch marks from appearing already! Good luck ladies!

IceLemonGin · 29/01/2015 14:58

I had a bmi of 44 and size 22/24 at booking. I'm an apple shape and carry most my weight on my tummy. I know everyone is different but I'd be interested to know if anyone had similar stats to me pre-pregnancy and when they started to see their bump and feel the baby move.

Jodie1982 · 29/01/2015 15:22

You all look great. I'm looking awful. I've given up lol. Roll on 13th feb getting induced at 39+6, can't wait! Wishing my lil fella will slow dwn on growing, I'm getting fit to burst! I'm 37+5 today.

GoooRooo · 29/01/2015 15:34

IceLemonGin I was similar with my last pregnancy - size 22/24 and a BMI of 42 I think. I started seeing a bump at about 16 weeks and felt the baby move not long after.

I'm a bit smaller this time - size 20 and BMI of 39 after some weight loss. My trousers are already getting tight and I'm only 5 + 4!

IceLemonGin · 29/01/2015 15:45

Thanks for replying GoooRooo, that's reassuring. Feels like I will never get a bump at the minute. It sounds like your bump is going to be making an earlier appearance this time round!

That's a great bump Jodie! Not too long to go now Grin

GoooRooo · 29/01/2015 15:50

Yes sorry Jodie - what a great bump!

IceLemonGin my advice to anyone with a plus size bump is this - don't wear baggy tops thinking that it's better to wear something loose. In my experience you're more likely to be offered a seat on a train if it actually looks like a bump and maternity tops which are a bit 'huggier' are better for that ;)

fattymcfatfat · 29/01/2015 16:17

Gooorooo you are right about yhat. I stopped trying to hide my bump at six weeks az everyone had guessed anyway! Bit hard to miss to be dair I have one hell of a bump! Jodie your bump is amazing I bet you can't wait now. It does feel like your stretched to your limit when its nearing the end!

Jodie1982 · 04/02/2015 23:52

I'm 38+5 now. In so much pain. Feel so fat n heavy and yukky. Roll on 13th feb!

How is everyone doing? Hope your all well x

fattymcfatfat · 05/02/2015 08:10

not long now then! my spd has kicked in with a vengeance. referral to physio in order today. and im still getting funny looks off people. its as if they can't believe a fat bird got pregnant! cheeky feckers

Jodie1982 · 05/02/2015 08:16

Hopefully you get some tips and relief from physio, once baby is bigger and putting pressure in your pelvis it can feel worse so excercise it now, if possible. Mine only kicks in at around 37wks when baby starts engaging, n then every day it gets worse. Trying to roll out of bed this morning I reminded myself of a beached whale! Lol

fattymcfatfat · 05/02/2015 14:06

lol I had it in my last pregnancy but wasnt able to get physio until after she was born. was discharged in october and got pregnant again pretty much immediately!

aneesa28 · 07/02/2015 10:12

This thread is amazing! I remember pregnancy to be a wonderful thing (the last time I was pg I was 4.5st lighter than my pre-pg weight this time). My bmi was 32 at booking appt and I have gained 7lb so far at 27 weeks. MW at 16 weeks took so long to find the heartbeat (and then too it was only for a fleeting second), she hinted that it was due to my being overweight. My 20 week scan notes state that visibility was poor due to excess body fat (hence the scan photo isn't clear)! DP's aunt remarked last week, "Are you sure she's not having twins?" And yet DP keeps commenting on how there's more flab on the bump than baby. So yeah, reading this thread I can relate to a lot of the experiences and needless to say I have been feeling far from blooming beautiful. Sad

Jodie1982 · 07/02/2015 16:05

Aneesa28. I'm sorry you have such an insensitive partner, mine would never ever say anything so bloody horrible! I hope you told him where to go after!? Bless you. I'm more worried about the hard wrk losing the weight after, after baby no.4 I never lost it all, I'm now 39wks with baby no.5 and I haven't dared weigh myself! 6days to go till I'm induced!

fattymcfatfat · 07/02/2015 17:07

im with jodie I the scared to weigh myself camp....and im only 16 weeks
