Hi ladies just wondering if anyone would like to join me on the final countdown from 30 weeks to newborn?!

I see there is another thread on here but the ladies are all at the end of their journey now, so was hoping to find some other mamas-to-be to natter with over the final stretch...!

How's everyone's weekend going? I was at a wedding yesterday which was lovely but I had to leave quite early as I just couldn't stay awake :/
I'm another that's going to have two in nappies, my dd is only 16 months but I'm just choosing to ignore that for the moment :)
Has everyone got names picked out yet? We don't, we just can't agree on anything :(

Ducky23 · 02/11/2014 08:51

We went out to a party.Grin Spent months looking forward to it then had to leave after 30 mins as there was no where to sit and my hips and legs were killing me! I'm paying for it now! Confused

sallygib · 02/11/2014 13:51

Went home to my parents for the weekend as DP is away in Morocco being best man so was feeling a little forlorn and envious. Had a lovely long weekend with friends including a baby shower!

Quite surprised as my retired parents have made me feel much more physically knackered than usual! Been to bed at 1am for the last 2 nights (3 hrs later than usual!) and went with my mum to aqua aerobics meaning my legs are absolutely killing!
Back in London now ready for my last afternoon nap before back to school!

Girls name picked, although DP and I cannot decide on a boy name. Have had my heart set on Walter all along and have gradually coerced everyone into calling the bump this, however this method of manipulation hasn't worked as apparently DP cannot possibly have a 'Walter Softy'...

LittlePink · 02/11/2014 15:53

I was feeling beyond irritable last night with the loud bangs of the fireworks outside. I love fireworks but everything was annoying me. Tummy was rock hard, couldn't get comfy in any position and baby was giving me a battering with his feet. Feeling better today mood wise but shattered.

Names are so hard. Dh has become dead set on Jacob. I'm just not sure. I can't find any name I like but came up with joe, Sam, Tom but all very popular. We wrote them on 4 pieces of paper and got dd to choose one. Which one did she pick out- Jacob! Dh's face was very smug. Looks like I'm out numbered!

TeaRex · 02/11/2014 16:54

Oh ducky I know what you mean, walking and sitting are okay but just standings awful.
sally I love the name Walter but can't use it as its the name of someone close to us do please use it! (See your husband has to agree now some random women on the internet has said to use it :) )
'Little' does sound like you've been outnumbered :/ luckily my dd's too young or I'm sure he'd turn her opinion to his advantage !

Bugaboom · 02/11/2014 19:15

Another one here that loves the name Walter! But my dh less keen more because of Breaking Bad. No one could call that Walter a softy.
Had a long day yesterday at a soft play party but at least I could have a guilt free sit down whilst others chased after DS! At least it wore him out to sleep all night and "lie in" til 6:10 am.

Castlelough · 03/11/2014 06:35

My gosh - baby brain at its best! I forgot all about this thread!!! I have been so unbelievably forgetful thiese past few weeks! Going to catch up and post then but before I forget people's names I just wanted to say:

Ducky I am so sorry to read about your daughter. This is my current worst nightmare, and happened to my granny, so I have been trying not to think about it - but the thought keeps creeping in. So glad you are being well monitored this time. x

Tea and Spruce - very sorry to hear about your mmc and mcs. I too had three mcs before this pregnancy so I have been there too. So happy to have a kicking bump thus time around!

Right, I'm off to catch up!

So thrilled to see such a busy thread! Big waves to everyone! Grin

I'm 31 weeks today! Feeling very well, but tired. Back to school today after half-term. 7 weeks til the Christmas holidays, when I finish up for maternity leave. I'd love to be finishing earlier to avoid the madness of Christmas at school - concerts etc!

We are supposed to move house on Saturday, which is quite a stressful prospect. I've been decluttering and packing things up for a few weeks, but our new house isn't ready yet...I'm praying the tilers will come this week. Once things can be moved out of here (hopefully Wednesday) we'll need to clean the house for landlady, and move in with DSiL for a few weeks until our own house is a bit more ready. I am trying not to be overwhelmed by it all but have been weepy the last few days. All of the house decisions seem so difficult, and DH has left most of it to me.

I have a lot of things gathered up for baby. I still need to get clothes, bedding, new mattresses for secondhand pram and cradle, a steam steriliser, a breast pump, baby bath, changing mat, bouncer.... hmmm quite a bit!

Hospital bag has been started. I'm trying to add a few bits each week to spread the cost!

Oh and I've just suddenly remembered that our antenatal classes begin tonight - each Monday in November.

Hoping everyone has a good week! Smile

Thank you castle.

It seems like you have a lot on your plate at the moment! I can hardly push myself to even tidy a room at the moment let alone go to work and organise a move!

Cosmomouse · 03/11/2014 11:34

Hi, I am 30+4 at the moment, first pregnancy. :-)

I only found out after 18 weeks when I was due to start fertility treatment! So a complete shock, as I thought I didn't work at all, but a good one!

I am being induced at 38 weeks, possibly the 26th December, as I am a Type 1 Diabetic.

noitsachicken · 03/11/2014 14:17

How is everyone?
Is anyone finding the time really dragging now? It's gone really quick for me, but now I just want to get on with it!!

Ducky23 · 03/11/2014 14:42

Oh Cosmo that's ace news. Smile

I finished off my baby shopping today and have almost done my Christmas shopping!

Anyone else struggling to waddle now?

LittlePink · 03/11/2014 15:08

Yes time is dragging a bit now. 9 weeks of waddling! Dd was 2 weeks late, really don't want another late one. 38-40 weeks would be great but 38 weeks is Xmas so I'm thinking skeleton staff hmmm. What due dates have you all got? I'm 4th jan. Consultant will let me go 10 days over so could be mid jan but got my heart set on not going over again!!!

Ducky23 · 03/11/2014 15:17

I'm due x mas day! Shock But am being induced at 37 -38 weeks, am hoping to get my date tomorrow Grin (fingers crossed!)

The past couple of weeks have gone soooo slow! And it seems like ages away until 37 weeks! Confused

cheshirem2b · 03/11/2014 16:03

Wow! This thread has been busy!
I'm now diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes... have numerous clinics on Thursday - diabetes clinic, growth scan and antenatal clinic - so that will be a busy day! I'm watching what I eat - doing the low GI thing and avoiding sugar but my resting levels are slightly raised. And I mean slightly - they want them 5.0 or under and mine are all around 5.3-5.6
All I want to know is will they let me go to 40 weeks or induce me at 38 weeks? That's a difference of before Christmas or New Year and I need to plan! Hopefully I will get some answers on Thursday.

Is anyone else starting to feel like their organs are so squashed they can't possibly be functioning properly?!

Ducky23 · 03/11/2014 16:18

Ohh Cheshire from what I read on here people with GD are induced early Smile do you know if baby is big?

Bugaboom · 03/11/2014 16:48

Cheshire I know 2 people with GD- one induced at 40 weeks and one at 39. I think it depends on levels and baby size. Both had smaller than average babies though.
I'm with you regarding squashed organs. Way more uncomfortable this time round!

ducky would you like to get started in my Christmas shopping and baby shopping?! Head still firmly in the sand!

Ducky23 · 03/11/2014 16:56

Ooohhh I would love to do the baby shop boom!!! I love shopping for baby stuff! Grin

sleepisforthetired · 03/11/2014 17:07

Ok to join?

31+1, and need distracting! Working as late as possible much to the disapproval of some, and trying to get organised (never loan anything you might one day want back).

I am very glad to only be looking at weeks in single digits :)

cheshirem2b · 03/11/2014 17:13

Ducky & Bugaboom baby was measuring 3.1lb at 28 weeks which I was told at the time was within the normal range and the measurements were all around 75th percentile. Growth check of measuring the bump today with mw showed baby around the same on the graph as well so doesn't look like s/he is MASSIVE but I guess the scan on Thursday will confirm that a bit better.
The problem I can foresee if the hospital wanting to induce but with me being due on New Years Day they have a lot of bank holidays to contend with... I'm just a bit of a control freak when it comes to planning - baby before Christmas will mean different Christmas plans to baby after if you see what I mean?

Ducky I have got all my Christmas presents bought apart from my goddaughter and husband - husband says all he wants for Christmas is a baby - he might get what he has asked for! Grin

Bugaboom · 03/11/2014 18:17

cheshire maybe ask on your next appointment the likely scenario. If baby not massive and your levels ok they may suggest one of the days between Christmas and new year.
I wonder if they'll be any Christmas day babies in this thread? Smile

Castlelough · 04/11/2014 08:38

Welcome to Sleep and Cosmo! Speaking of sleep - I had hardly any last night... Sad

Ducky23 · 04/11/2014 08:47

Hello to the new people! Grin

Me either castle Confused I'm havin problems with my hips at the moment (that's when I'm not getting up for a wee!)

LittlePink · 04/11/2014 13:28

Sleep is pretty rough at the moment. Had to sleep sitting up last night as my ribs were hurting so much lying on either side. Had to get up in the middle of the night and get some more pillows to prop me up into a sitting position. Rubbish!!
