Hi, I'm 23 years old and I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am really excited about it, but am a little nervous/ scared as i'm unsure what to expect. I have never really been around babies or small children. I would really love to hear off and talk to other expectant mom's, to hear your thoughts and experiences. x x x

hiya,

Been to see mw today and had my final blood test whoo but my arm is killing me now!!!!
She measured me and im only measuring 34cm even though im 36+2 so im a bit concerned as she sed if it the the same next time i mite have to go for another scan!!!!
The head has started to engage which is gud news!

AmieR · 03/10/2006 12:23

yay about everything but maybe it just means you'll have a smaller baby or you've got a few weeks more than planned to wait! I'm sure the scan will settle your nerves.

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 12:31

i dont wantt to wait anylonger lol!!!
well when i was 34weeks i measured 34cm so if i dont get bigger the baby mite of stopped growing which isnt gud news i guess ill just have to wait till my next vist which isnt for 2 weeks!!!!

AmieR · 03/10/2006 12:41

I hope everything is OK.

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 12:43

sorry prob nothing i just worry bout everything my dp says i worry to much which is prob true!!! lol

AmieR · 03/10/2006 12:48

I think its human nature. Esp if its your first and you've never gone through anything like it before!

I've got like pins and needles in my right breast... did you ever feel something like that?

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 12:51

i cant say that i have sorry maybe you bra is too tight i use to get pins and needles on my back where my bra was cuz it was to tight for me that the only thibg i can suggest!!

AmieR · 03/10/2006 12:56

so much for my new M&S Maternity bra! rolls eyes

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 12:58

i hate maternity bras i mean your huge so you dont feel attractive as it is (well i dont anyway) and then to top it off they expect you to wear these huge bras that do nothing for you well the ones ive got arent attractive at all no wonder dp isnt interested lol

AmieR · 03/10/2006 13:00

These ones aren't actually that bad, I mean they're nothing fancy or intricate, but they're not hurrendous, a bit more like a sports bra than anything.

DH loves my pregnancy breasts!

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 13:06

lol well dp defo doesnt complain bout my breasts it just at 36weeks i am to big and heavy to think of getting intimate but i miss the affection cuz that seems to of gone aswell at the min!!!
Did your dh go all weird on you and thnk he mite hurt the baby if you get wot i mean lol!!!

AmieR · 03/10/2006 13:10

no not yet he hasn't. But if you knew me you wouldn't even tell I was almost half way through a pregnancy, I think when the bump is more prominent it might effect his level of enthusiasm!

ahh that's a shame, everyone needs some affection.

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 13:15

lol lucky you to not showing yet!!! before i cud see my bump i was always like i wish i was bigger but now im like, if i get any bigger ill scream lol i cant win

AmieR · 03/10/2006 13:17

I think i'd like to have a little bit of bump.. just to kind of prove that I'm feeling this way for a reason!

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 13:19

im sure ull start showing soon nce ur baby starts putting weight on.

AmieR · 03/10/2006 13:21

got a scan at the end of this month so hopefully we'll be able to see that something is there!

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 13:22

r you going to find out wot your having?
i was so ecited when my scan dates came thru!

AmieR · 03/10/2006 13:26

no, we're not planning to, but if its obvious at the scan there is little we can do about it, but we won't ask to find out.

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 13:31

well i cudnt tell wot we were having just by looking at the screen think that they have to look from a certain angle and even then they can be wrong hope ours was rite as i brought so many clothes

AmieR · 03/10/2006 13:33

Think it depends on how the baby is positioned but I've heard you can sometimes see boys bits. so who knows... yeah.. I hope its right too! What a nightmare that would be!

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 13:43

oh rite didnt know that well im sure you wont be able to tell

AmieR · 03/10/2006 13:48

yup, think there is a thread about it here somewhere!

do you have a name for your girl?

youngmum21 · 03/10/2006 14:02

yep she going to be called jasmine we not having a middle name. Have you chose any names?

AmieR · 03/10/2006 14:14

nope not as yet... middle names are sorted though! We're halfway there. Samuel for a boy, (DH's first name) and Grace for a girl (3 out of our 4 grandmother's names).

hope know one feels we're clogging up the thread!
