Hi, I'm 23 years old and I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am really excited about it, but am a little nervous/ scared as i'm unsure what to expect. I have never really been around babies or small children. I would really love to hear off and talk to other expectant mom's, to hear your thoughts and experiences. x x x

Hi Michelle.
I really liked your post cos it is good to speak to younger people sometimes although i think everyone is lovely on here.

Im 23 too and am 34weeks pg today! He is a little boy (but he is not very little!!) and we are calling him Alfie Jack (AJ for short).

Ive not been around babies too much either but i have been told by those more experienced than me that to trust your instincts and you will be fine oh and i am so scared about giving birth, im a total wimp but i just try to think, the baby has to come out and there is nothing i can do about it and yes it hurts but atleast you get something lovely at the end of it! xx

Afternoon all!!!

Congratulations amiee!!!!

AmieR · 26/09/2006 13:51

I'm 18 weeks gone on my first pregnancy, and still feeling excited and nervous and all at the same time. I too have not had much experience around young children and a bit anxious, but my parents and In laws are more than happy to help...

I'm 27 next month.

22 week Scan is due at the end of October and I'm looking forward to seeing the baby again! Even though it was a little weird to see!

youngmum21 · 26/09/2006 13:53

hi amier congartulations i dont think it matters if you have been round alot of children or not cuz it will be diff when its ur own you cant give them back lol

AmieR · 26/09/2006 14:05

I just worry about not knowing what to do! concerning a whole load of aspects, but I guess we'll learn! That's what its all about!

LeBe · 26/09/2006 14:09

Hi Aimer and Congrats on your pg. Hello to everyone else. How far gone are you youngmum21 im sure ive seen your name before i dont think your on my antenatal thread tho?? x

LeBe · 26/09/2006 14:10

Aimer im worried about that aspect too but i think that is what your instincts are for because although all the advice and help is good i think only you know whats best for your own baby in the end! x

youngmum21 · 26/09/2006 14:11

im like you except ive been round young kids as my sis got two but im defo worried cuz you havent got any one telling you wot to do or when they need feeding but like you sed im sure we wil learn guess that the fun part!!!

youngmum21 · 26/09/2006 14:16

AmieR · 26/09/2006 14:19

I see you've got slightly less time than me! I'll be tapping you up for hints and help! My sister in law says my Niece had different types of cries for each need!

youngmum21 · 26/09/2006 14:56

heres my first piece of advice enjoy these middle few months as they are the best i have found the last 3 months the hardest to cope with x

AmieR · 26/09/2006 15:08

I've actually found them more uncomfy than the first 12 weeks or so! But It will be worth it!

youngmum21 · 26/09/2006 15:11

i guess eveyone diff these last few weeks seem to be going on foreva tohugh and all i can think of is i cant wait for this lo to bwe born but also i cant wait to hopefully fit in to my old cloths again i have gotten so paranoid bout my weight and wether ill actually lose the weight and go back to how i was!!!!! n if dp will eva fancy me again!!!!

AmieR · 26/09/2006 15:35

awww I'm sure he will. I asked my husband that the other day, about whether he'd be at the business end during some of the labour.. I'm not sure whether he was just trying to say all the right things but his replies were pleasing.

You'd have no idea I am 18 weeks pregnant at the moment, its hidden very well by my tummy! It feels different to the touch though.

youngmum21 · 26/09/2006 15:44

lucky you i was quite big by then and now i just feel massive and dont want to get any bigger hpefull i wont with only 5weeks to go till my due date!!!
I have asked dp if he will wtill fancy me if i dont lose all the weight he says yes but he hardly going to say no he wudnt dare lol,
I have got a few strechmarks aswell wich i will not let him see that hw parnoid i am bout my body and now im going to be stuck with them!!!! Sorry to winge and moan and sound shallow but i dont want to be 21 with no figure!!!!!!!

LeBe · 26/09/2006 17:01

Youngmum - Im due 6th November, i too am massive and hoping not to get any bigger but lo has dropped this week so i can finally breathe now! Im feeling the same as you, it is dragging like mad now, i just want him out now to cuddle and kiss, im finishing work this week so dont know if it wll go quicker or slower. My dp says he still fancies me even tho ive put on 3 stone, but like you say he wouldnt dare say he doesnt, not with my hormones

Amier - i agree with youngmum, enjoy the middle months, i didnt i just wanted to get near the end but i can do so much less than i did then.

youngmum21 · 26/09/2006 17:30

Jay22 · 26/09/2006 18:36

Thanks. Just wondered is anyone else getting sharp pains just behind their belly button? Its worrying me as it hurts like hell, then after the sharp pains it feels like its bruised and its really tender to touch...all lasts about 10mins. Im probably worrying over nothing but its my first pregnancy and my midwife just brushes off all my questions!
