Hi, I'm 23 years old and I'm currently 23 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am really excited about it, but am a little nervous/ scared as i'm unsure what to expect. I have never really been around babies or small children. I would really love to hear off and talk to other expectant mom's, to hear your thoughts and experiences. x x x

Michelle24 · 24/09/2006 22:15

I really like Niamh for a girl and Regan for a boy but i'll probably change my mind before the baby makes its big entrance...

Michelle24 · 24/09/2006 22:25

Thanks Bendyb, Trying to stick with my DH's Irish heritage.

Youngmum - I agree with Bendyb, I don't know what they could be but if there really bad and they continue it's definitely worth mentioning it to your midwife x

youngmum, it sounds like baby is probably in a funny position. it happened to me all the time, one minute id be fine then id have really bad pains on my side, i couldnt move, it was because of the way ds was positioned.

Michelle24 · 24/09/2006 22:28

Yeah it could be that... I know that if I sleep on my back I wake up unable to move.

(Niamh is pronounced Neeve.)

yeah i had a pain in my back for a few days & thats what my mum said that could be touchin a nerve, I've had that pain in my side thing a few times when I've walked quite far so maybe its something 2 do with that aswell? like ur body tellin u 2 rest or something!
I think u pronounce it 'neev' x

youngmum21 · 24/09/2006 22:31

Thanks girls that put my mind to rest abit, will still mention it to my midwife when i go next unless it gets any worse then i will ring before that!!!

Michelle that is a lovly girls name aswell neva seen it spelt like that before!!!

Have you finished work yet bendyb??

Michelle24 · 24/09/2006 22:35

Thanks, it's the Irish spelling.

I can't wait to finish work, Finding it quite difficult at the moment, especially as i'm on my own until half way through December. My DH is away on a course...

Blimy you turn your back for 2 seconds! Tis a nice little early 20s gang Michelle has gathered!

Michelle dp graduates this June and I'm the year after as I decided to go part time.

I don't envy you all your jobs at the moment though! I'm prob going to be in lectures til just before I'm due but its only 4 hours a week, even now if my ligaments are having a bad day dp has to push me up the hill home not sure how I'd cope in a job!

Is your dp back permanently in December Michelle? It is a long time but you really do fell great when its over, we just finished what has amounted to almost 14 months apart, most of it seeing each other for a few days every 4 months, the last 2 months every weekend (and yet I still managed to get pregnant.....)Still can't quite believe I get to go to bed with him every night now.And yeah I think he did feel like he was missing out on the pregnancy, was tough on him.
