bythesea bleeding is quite common to find on early scans so isn't necessarily bad news. But I can imagine how you feel as this is what you saw for both your previous mcs. Fx for you and a hug in the mean time.

cuppa have you got a runny bum? Sometimes all the gastric disturbances can push out some old blood so spotting could be this? Can you feel baby move? The worry is so horrible though. I feel your pain.

mrsg good luck for tomorrow! Wee bit jealous you get to hold your baby tomorrow!!

Cuppachaplz · 27/08/2014 11:47

fedup had diarrhoea for 10 days now. Seen doc yesterday, who said all pain and cramping was bowel related. Waiting on test results.
Today vaginal spotting. Very light, but concerned...
Having spent 8 hours in foetal medicine at ANC on Friday, don't really feel like going again. Waiting for MW to call back...

CorporeSarnie · 27/08/2014 11:52

by the sea, in my first scan or two (at 5.5-6.5 weeks), a small area of bleeding was seen near the sac, at the site of implantation. I did have an implantation bleed, but after that no bleeds until 22 weeks. It is by no means certain that you will bleed. Will they scan you again next week/in a fortnight? Push for this if you can. Today you are pregnant.
cuppa, as above, I had bleeds at 22 and 26 weeks, admittedly caused by a cervical polyp, but even in mid-pregnancy not all bleeds are terrible news. Could be an infection, could be nothing much. At 22 weeks MAU should be able to see you, and can doppler and scan to check how things are going.
Re: the tummy bug, chances are you have noro or some sort of viral infection if you've not eaten anything that has made you feel rough, I had some sort of D&V bug in my first pregnancy at around 34 weeks, annoyingly picked up at the GPs when I went for flu vax, which was pretty unpleasant, but the start of autumn often heralds these things.

Cakebaker35 · 27/08/2014 12:43

bythesea how horribly worrying for you, but just popping on to say that bleeds are not always bad news as others have said. I had bleeds from wk 6 to 15, incredibly heavy at times, it's so stressful so hand holding for you. Do push for another scan as this is the only way to know what's what. I had a scan each week in the end due to all my bleeds, hospital happy to see me each time so hope you get the same support - push for it via gp if you need to.

cuppa scary for you too. Hope the mw puts your mind at ease, sounds v likely to be due to your upset tum but it's always worth being seen for any fresh bleeding just to put your mind at ease. X

squizita · 27/08/2014 16:16

Baby before u get huge, the main risk from exercise is torn muscles. They're softer. So probably just that. Many sportswomen carry on training!

Bythesea bleeding inside during pregnancy is quite common. It doesn't mean MC. FX it resolves itself safely before your next scan.

squizita · 27/08/2014 16:22

Cuppa tmi but I have had cervical spotting caused by overly hard or soft stools. If just spots, may well be that! It was scary and I went in but it resolved itself.

Had a manic day here. Picked up car seat and pram, slow cooker, weekly shop, visited folks. Realised had done no movement checks (though vaguely recalled the odd kick). Freaked out. Thankfully upon sitting down, I got a big hoof and a wobble wobble belly!

Giraffe Tomorrow is the big day! Good luck! :)

GandTnow · 27/08/2014 16:54

All the best for tomorrow MrsG! So exciting that you'll meet your baby so soon xxx

tannyLoo · 27/08/2014 18:03

MrsG thinking of you meeting Baby G tomorrow. How exciting!

squizita · 27/08/2014 19:25

Fish slap: my GPs receptionist called (I missed it and couldn't call back as they were shut) just saying my GP needs an appointment tomorrow morning or Friday. This is just to give me blood test results isn't it!?! Just cause they can't give them via a receptionist? Really stressing! Of course no one understands thyroid results at 1st and she will want to write them into my notes too.
Only annoying thing is I have 2 hospital appointments tomorrow and Friday morning... so I hope she will see me Fri afternoon or it'll be Monday!

MrsGiraffe12 · 27/08/2014 19:30

Just had my last dinner (nil by mouth from midnight).

Feel all teary and a tad scared now, which is ridiculous really as I've had a c section before.

My lovely dad lives near the hospital and is having DS tomorrow so he can come meet the baby as soon as I'm well enough but dear dad said he will wait till normal visiting hours so not to take away from the "magic" for us as a family :-)
I'll update as and when I can of the new arrival :-)

squitz mini fish slap for you, but also hugs. With a medicated pregnancy any time your told you need an appointment you wernt expecting is scary! xx

Babytinx11 · 27/08/2014 19:54

mrsg good luck tomorrow hope all goes well and they don't keep you waiting around too long :)

squiz test results are always scary when you can't get them over the phone even more so when pregnant so mini fish slap and lots of hand holding Smile

squizita · 27/08/2014 20:11

Just rang the midwife, phew... she has moved my appt so I can get my results 1st and reassured me that thyroid at this stage doesn't affect the likelihood of normal birth, plus they have ladies on thyroid pills use the pool all the time.
Aaand breathe.

MrsGiraffe12 · 27/08/2014 20:13

squizita great news :-)

squizita · 27/08/2014 20:16

MrsG hugs! Of course it's nerve wracking: an op and a new baby in the same hour! Big news day. But all safe and sound and managed by experts in a great hospital. Grin

Cuppachaplz · 27/08/2014 20:26

Best of luck mrsg, this time tomorrow you'll be having baby cuddles xx

squiz how stressful! Glad to hear they have fitted you in soon, and good to have reassurance that it won't affect the birth. X

Spoke to MW. Spotting has remained just that, with no fluid. She is seeing me tomorrow to check baby. Upset tummy has small intestinal and bacterial characteristics, so waiting on culture to rule out E. coli and salmonella (which could affect baby) I know this is the likely cause, but having stayed away I have looked up foetal brain lesions today, and now totally freaking out. In addition can't find HB with stethoscope tonight. Having a bath to encourage movements... Slap me with a marlin please someone!

Babytinx11 · 27/08/2014 20:49

Fab news squiz

cuppa I hope your feeling better soon try and stay away from google it just makes things scarier have a chat with the midwife tomorrow and try not up google stuff

squizita · 27/08/2014 20:53

Cuppa steer clear of google! Your hcp have it all in hand. Sure all will be well.

sarahjkl82 · 27/08/2014 21:24

Hi everyone,
I'm quite new to Mumsnet and a bit terrified of forums as I've always been the one who has to leave due date threads! Anyway, on pregnancy number 6 and at 20 weeks so I feel I should start to believe that there might be a baby this time!
xxx

Cuppachaplz · 27/08/2014 21:50

Welcome sarah, best wishes for the second half of your pregnancy x

Thanks all, not been on Google, not quite that daft, but been through my radiology textbooks and on pubmed, which should at least be accurate. MW and consultant didn't know anything about brain lesions, which is why I have to wait for the neurologist and MRI next month. Difficult to wait on that once bleeding started though... :/

HollyBen · 27/08/2014 22:34

Hope iyou are worrying about nothing cuppa (If you see what I mean)

Welcome Sarah

How exciting mrsg Hope all goes well. Looking forward to hearing your news. It seems a long time for me. 13 weeks today. Got my 20 week scan date through today. Going to have to move it till the next week though

Alb1 · 28/08/2014 01:38

Welcome sarah

Glad they are fitting you in nice and early tomoro squiz

Good luck mrsg I'm excited for you, so close to new baby cuddles, hope it all goes quickly and smoothly for u Smile

fedupofrainydays · 28/08/2014 07:19

Welcome sarah - here we all know they feeling of leaving boards due to mc, but five times must be hard. I've had two and was awful. Fx for 6th time lucky!

Last day at work today and I'm so so relieved. Knackered and have sore throat and head ache. Then I really need to sort our house so we can live in it again and actually get stuff sorted for this baby. But that's also scary as it's acknowledging that it might actually happen!

Good luck mrsg looking forward to hearing news later today!

Big slap cuppa. Hope it's something that can just be treated with some simple anti bs that are safe in preg of course. Must be very worrying for you and unlike you, I'm stupid enough to turn to dr google so impressed you haven't!

missmakesstuff · 28/08/2014 07:57

Good luck mrsg!!!!

So exciting, I remember the nerves but just remember you'll have your baby in you arms soon.

So sorry you're still feeling I'll cuppa, fx all is good, the chances of it bring something really bad are tiny surely? You're at least being looked after.

I am fine, with very slight symptoms now, just a bit of nausea and very very sore boobs all day, hoping nothing's wrong but just not going to think about it until the next scan, petrified somethings going to be wrong but I know the chances are everything is fine. I start back at school Monday and have lots of work and other things to keep me occupied till then, still haven't had a date through but soon hopefully.
bythesea welcome and fx it's nothing, I had a largish bleed at about the same time and I immediately jumped off the deep end, assumed the worst etc. Everything was fine, now about 10 weeks, I had a scan and they said everything fine. The chances of ms go down once you've seen a hb too which might be some comfort?

liesal79 · 28/08/2014 08:31

Hi MissM -
I remember my symptoms starting to go about 10 weeks - Its the body preparing themselves for the 2nd Trimester.
I am the same still at and before every scan - I am 23 weeks and have had more scans than I should, coz I get myself all worked up!
The likelihood is that everything will be fine, but it is hard, as no-one is able to see in the future and tell you 100% that everything will be fine. FX everything is! :)
I am back at work now, on half days, and my replacement is currently being sourced for my maternity leave, which panic's the hell out of me!
I don't know why - I suppose as its only been me that has made the changes this far, now I am getting work involved etc!
Stupid really :S

Babytinx11 · 28/08/2014 09:06

Welcome sarah Smile

missmakes slightly jealous here 14 weeks on Monday and still suffering with ms Sad though me thinks it's stress and tiredness triggering it now so hopefully after the move it will go fingers crossed lol

cuppa hope everything is ok for you try not to stress too much.

mrsg goodluck today :)
