Hello Smile
Thank you all so much for your lovely support and reassurance, feeling more positive today and just fingers crossed!

cuppa hope they sort things for you soon, doesn't sound much fun.

Welcome Sarah, wishing you a very dull second half of your pregnancy Brew

Fedup hope you're enjoying your first day of freedom Wink

Sorry if I missed anyone. Wishing you all a happy Thursday (especially mrsG!!

Quick update- main thyroid results are normal. Still waiting for a more detailed one. GP now thinks it's a benign nodule caused by pregnancy and will fade 2-3 months. But am having a scan of my neck next week anyway to rule out anything cystic (though is soft not a lump).
Slightly raised white blood cells so am to tell mw to double check my wee sample for a "silent" uti (though could also be a cold on its way!).
No one seems overly panicked.

CorporeSarnie · 28/08/2014 10:33

So excited for mrsg, can't wait to hear about babyg! Hope you're near the start of the list for today so that you can be with your baby soon, and get some tea and toast into you as well :)
Welcome to sarah, hope that the next 20 or so weeks pass uneventfully for you.
bythesea, glad you're feeling more positive today.
Another day of pure exhaustion for me - DH let me and DD sleep in until 7.45 as he was wfh (we are usually downstairs and having bfast by then), but then got all pouty when we weren't ready to be out the door exactly at 8.50 (he was dropping us both). Think he forgets that although he can eat, wash and be ready to go in about 10mins, a 30-week pregnant woman and a nearly-3yo can't do the same. DD needs constant cajoling to get ready in the morning - it is going to be a nightmare getting her ready whilst doing the morning feeds etc. Wow, that implies I really think that this is going to happen!

MrsGiraffe12 · 28/08/2014 12:32

No news yet.

There are 6 on the list in front of me and only 2 electives have been done so far. A few emergencies so far today which bumps me down this list.

Fingers crossed they manage to do it today or I'll be waiting till Monday (electives are Thursday and Mondays).
Obviously not a problem as emergencies come first x

Alb1 · 28/08/2014 14:53

Not a problem but I imagine still very frustrating mrsg when your all ready and waiting to meet your baby, I'm keeping my fx they manage to fit you in today! I also
Feel for you going without food, I'm
Not sure I could cope with that... But maybe I'm just greedy Grin

Babytinx11 · 28/08/2014 15:33

Need a huge fish slap and a ton of chocolate keep having nightmares that there is something wrong with the baby even though all my scans have been perfect Sad and I
Having a hugely fed up day just wanna cry the move is getting to me and DS refuses to do as he is told :( DH was meant to be off work today but got called in to do a shift :( I now just want to curl up and sleep and not wake up until we are in the new House and settled :(

Babytinx11 · 28/08/2014 15:33

mrsg hope they manage to fit you in today

squizita · 28/08/2014 18:00

Confused Massive fish slap needed. Really, really weird midwife appt.
2 mw measured me with the tape measure. One recommended a growth scan because I was about a week or two behind: fair enough I'm higher risk. The other (who was experienced etc) measured me for a second opinion and said THIRTY ONE WEEKS! She overruled her colleague. But how is this possible when I've got a scan saying my baby was correct sized at 34 weeks? A scan!
Heartbeat and movement are fine. Was so worried but they told me that even if it WAS an issue it might mean I am booked in for an induction or cesarean, but right now baby seems "happy".
But babies can't shrink! And it was the boss who measured me 31 weeks and asked if my bump had even grown in the last month!!

SuzyBean · 28/08/2014 18:13

Squiz I had to have a growth scan when I was 38 weeks with my DS as when the midwife measured me I was measuring small (looking back at pictures of me then I was bloody enormous!!). I went for my scan and the sonographer started swearing - basically baby was measuring fine but had started to engage so was partially in my pelvis - no wonder my belly wasn't measuring so big!! I wouldn't worry - as you said babies can't shrink!! Also some babies are just smaller, ds was 10 days late and was 7lbs 7 - he just needed to bake a bit longer!

squizita · 28/08/2014 18:47

Thanks Suzy ... DH reminded me their "concern" was whether baby would be induced/c sectioned on labour ward or pop naturally in MLU. Both of which are not terrifying compared to past issues: baby IS moving and normal right now. Also I note she didn't write down 31! It was 34 or something. So she must've double checked.

Plus I was a tiny but healthy bub at 5 lb. Might just be my DNA (my dms theory).

MrsGiraffe12 · 28/08/2014 19:13

Off home till Monday. I'm first on Mondays list though as every other lady got seen/delivered. Disappointed but that's the way the cookie crumbles when emergencies occur.
Off for a massive Chinese now to stave off the hunger :-)

HollyBen · 28/08/2014 19:18

How disappointing mrsg. You must be ravenous. Enjoy your chinese. Fingers crossed for monday x

MrsGiraffe12 · 28/08/2014 19:26

Yep. They were so apologetic but where DS was emergency section I totally get it :-)

Babytinx11 · 28/08/2014 20:05

Gutted for you mrsg but 1st on Monday is good Smile

MrsGiraffe12 · 28/08/2014 20:18

Yeah. He or she will be the eldest in the year then rather than the youngest :-)

Cakebaker35 · 28/08/2014 20:20

mrsg enjoy your Chinese and roll on Monday! Grin

squiz the whole bump measuring thing is a complete red herring in my experience. When pregnant with dd I was measured by about 4 different mw's when I had to go to day assessment unit for high bp, they all got different results and felt so sheepish about it they scanned me. None of them matched the scan info! X

Babytinx11 · 28/08/2014 21:27

squiz I have up counting my growth scans DS was always either measuring way ahead or way behind when they measured my bump
It just depended which way he was laying I wouldn't worry at one point they told me he was going to be 11lb odd as it was he was 7lb 9 at 38 weeks so wouldn't worry too much

missmakesstuff · 28/08/2014 21:53

Great that you are 1st on Monday mrsg, enjoy your Chinese! I remember the night before my vs, I had a massive rare steak and a couple loads of glasses of red... Glad they didn't bump me a few days!

baby sorry you're having such a shifty time of things, just think when you have your New place and a room for baby, it will be lovely. I have been really lucky with the ms, just slight nausea but I really think it's worse when I'm tired, haven't eaten well -again, loads-- and am thirsty, also have tried the vitamin b6, it's made a difference.

Thanks for the reassurance guys, I just get these odd waves of anxiety where I remember my scan last time where there was nothing there, trying to put it out of my mind...

Work will keep me busy enough, had my scan date through for just over two weeks but dh has a meeting at work that day, so I need to get another, hoping I don't have to wait too long!

Is anyone/did anyone dread telling anyone about their bfp?

I am worried about telling a couple of people at work who have been struggling to get pregnant and sil, they have been having ivf.

missmakesstuff · 28/08/2014 21:56

Shifty?! Sorry, shitty! I hate my phone!

squizita · 28/08/2014 22:51

Am I clutching at straws here... lots of low pressure on cervix and pelvis (frequent peeing), just took my bra off and noticeable drops of colostrum.
Please please please please let worrying 'shrinkage' actually be low down baby!!

Just need to keep reminding myself at no point has movement, blood pressure or heartbeat caused an emergency up till now- if something's spotted, it's been spotted early...

MrsGiraffe12 · 29/08/2014 05:56

squiz baby had probably just engaged Hun. Hence the pelvic pressure and the feeling smaller but of course do call maternity unit if your concerned xx

squizita · 29/08/2014 07:25

MrsG it's the maternity unit who measured me small... hence I'm Confused as surely they know an engaged baby?
Consultant today. FX s/he can have an actual look in there and clarify!

fedupofrainydays · 29/08/2014 07:31

squiz a baby can't shrink! The scan you had will be much more accurate than a tape measure. You hear those stories of women who have no bump and deliver a normal size baby!

fedupofrainydays · 29/08/2014 07:33

Yes missmakes but more dread about telling people for fear of acknowledging I'm pregnant! My friends all knew of my struggle and 2 mcs so it wasn't as if we shagged and were instadiffed!

missmakesstuff · 29/08/2014 08:08

Yep Fed up I have that too, every time I tell anyone I feel the need to instantly say ' but it's early days and we're not getting too excited yet and....'

Hopefully the scan will help with that, might feel more real then.

Is it normal not to feel pregnant at all sometimes? When I'm not feeling sick and haven't poked my books to check they still hurt, I feel no different...and that scares me!
